Call immigrant detention centers what they really are: concentration camps

The left is not interested in that...how would they pander? No, the situation is right where they want it, otherwise they’d fix the laws.

Funny, innit? The laws didn't need to be fixed when the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress but about1 day after the Democrats won the house this issue became a national emergency. Trump didn't make a move on his wall fantasy until it became the job of the Democrats to git 'er done, Cletus.
You know lots of leftists who own hotels and golf courses? 'Cuz that's why those illegal immigrants are still coming, because those people can't relocate to a Maquiladora zone to take advantage of cheap labour so they induce the cheap labour to use their feet and come to them.

The left is not interested in that...how would they pander? No, the situation is right where they want it, otherwise they’d fix the laws.

That would be a trick, given that no house bill makes it past McConnell to even be assigned to a committee, let alone a vote.

That would be a trick, given that no house bill makes it past McConnell to even be assigned to a committee, let alone a vote.

This is very true. And as everyone knows, McConnel is a practiced expert on holding the Senate to a stand still.

What amazes me about the lack of any governmental progress, is that the Democrats are well aware of who and what ol' Mitch is, yet they plod along with bills loaded with things they already know McConnel isn't even gonna consider. Is it not yet painfully obvious to you, that as this hyper-partisan gridlock continues, that politicians on both sides, will do absolutely nothing, and watch the USA rot from the inside? Meanwhile...the only American politician trying to do something is...who?

You're being lead down the garden path again Democrats. While you investigate annoying and already decided BS, while you scream from your pulpits about morality and absolute socialism, while your polls of proven accuracy stroke you to a comfy and reassuring slumber...common sense is coming.

Have any of you seen that crowd last night? Did you bother to watch the POTUS begin his re-election bid? Its all happening again. Joe Biden speaks to 200 people, and Donald Trump speaks to 20,000 people inside the arena, and another several thousand who waited 2 days outside, just to be there. You're being lulled into an even deeper sense of stupid.

If all you did in the USA today, is to actually enforce your own laws, the Democrats would have a chance. But as it is...the extreme hatred of Trump, held by the media and their followers (a number which continuously dwindles by the month), The Democrats are ****ed. They'll even lose their current grip on Congress. And next time, Paul ****in' Ryan will not be in the way.

So unless you want 4 more years of The Donald Show, you Democrats and Trump haters would be well advised to actually think about what the hell you are doing.
Because in the meantime, "KEEP AMERICA GREAT" is gonna sweep the nation...and you'll all be left watching that priceless woman scream in anguish on her knees at the next inauguration...again...

So you say. However, I have also read statutory law that requires a person who enters the US to enter through ports of entry/checkpoints OTHERWISE they are guilty of a misdemeanor.

They are guilty of a "civil misdemeanour" and have NOT committed a "criminal act".

Those who cross the border avoiding such a legal port of entry are therefore guilty of illegal entry - no matter what their fake excuses about wanting to seek permission is Poughkeepsie or Duluth.

But they have not committed a crime.

Moreover, as many (or perhaps the majority) of those seeking asylum are caught AFTER making illegal entry (rather than apply at a port of entry), at which time they automatically ask for asylum, does not mean they aren't illegal.

As of the very moment they make a claim for asylum they are no longer (if they were) "illegals" and convert - at law - to applicants for asylum any must (until their application is determined) be treated as such. Whether their application will be granted is a completely different matter.

And none of this includes those who reside here, employed under false ID's or avoiding withholding taxes, etc.

I never said that it did.

Of course, you do realize that the IRS will NOT allow a claim for wages paid as a deduction unless the employer claimant can actually prove that the wages were actually paid to the actual person the employer claimant says that they were paid to (and that means that the IRS will deem the amount said to have been paid to actually be a part of the employer claimant's personal income [to be taxed accordingly]) and that the proof that the IRS deems sufficient is a record that shows that the employer claimant actually withheld and remitted the statutorily required taxes, don't you?

Now, if you were an employer with a gross income of $250,000 and you also employed 50 "illegals" that you paid $50,000 per year each, would you rather

  1. withhold and remit the appropriate taxes on your employees' $2,500,000 in wages AND pay taxes on the taxable portion of your (actual) income of $250,000; or
  2. NOT withhold and remit the appropriate taxes on your employees' $2,500,000 in wages AND pay taxes on the taxable portion of your (deemed) income of $2,750,000?

Remember, in both Case 1. and Case 2. your deductions from income are going to be identical.

[HINT - In Case 2. the taxes on your (deemed) income are likely to be higher than your actual GROSS income.]

PS - Only REALLY stupid employers do NOT withhold and remit the appropriate taxes on their employees' incomes.

The less we know about them, the better we can sleep at night. I realize. of course, that I am making an assumption, that we all believe in human dignity. But since our leader doesn't....
Calling them concentration camps is a concession that we are under invasion by an enemy.

How many redundant new threads have been started now by certain forum Democrats falsely claiming our federal law enforcement officers and doctors are all Nazis who are systematically exterminating mass numbers of immigrants?

I believe that the number is ZERO.

Now, on the other hand, I'm not even going to try and make a guess at how many posts from Mr. Trump's supporters there have been that claimed that that was what the Democrats had done.

So you're supporting concentration camps. Good to know.

If the accommodation was the equivalent to "Motel 6", the food wasn't partly made up of rotting and/or otherwise unfit for human consumption materials, if there was sufficient space for kids to play and adults to socialize, families were being kept together, and if the chainlink/barbed wire fences weren't completely obnoxious, would you be upset about the fact that they applicants for asylum were housed in "concentration camps"?

Would they?

I thought that the new slogan was going to be "Keep Real Americans Prosperous".

No. He actually had the audience decide with applause levels. It was interesting and comical.
One thing about Trump, he certainly knows how to play an audience.

So you have said before. However, the American Immigration Council, a left "think-tank" dedicated to protecting illegal immigrants says this:

Prosecuting Migrants for Coming to the United States | American Immigration Council

Title 8 of the U.S. Code identifies federal criminal offenses pertaining to immigration and nationality, including the following two entry-related offenses:

“Illegal Entry”/8 U.S.C. 1325 makes it a crime to unlawfully enter the United States. It applies to migrants who do not enter with proper inspection at a port of entry, such as those who enter between ports of entry, avoid examination or inspection, or who make false statements while entering or attempting to enter. A first offense is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine, up to six months in prison, or both.

“Illegal Re-Entry”/8 U.S.C. 1326 makes it a crime to unlawfully reenter, attempt to unlawfully reenter, or to be found in the United States after having been deported, ordered removed, or denied admission. This crime is punishable as a felony with a maximum sentence of two years. Higher penalties apply if the migrant has a criminal record: up to 10 years for a migrant with misdemeanors and simple felonies, and up to 20 years for more serious crimes.

So you say, again without support. If so, what is the legal process name and process of this "conversion" upon apprehension? From a legal process perspective once caught for illegal entry, a reasonable assumption is that they are guilty of a "crime" whether or not they are they are prosecuted for that crime. No doubt the question of prosecution or simple deportation is deferred until after their (usually fake) asylum claim is adjudicated but if they lose their hearing, the violation remains and in fact and they can be prosecuted or deported.

What I'd do, or what stupid employers do, is of little interest to me. What small "employers" of illegals do and don't do are. No one would deny that illegals are employed "under the table" by citizens for reasons that vary. People routinely hire illegals for work as a nanny, house-keeper, yard maintenance, and off the street day laborer - all on a cash basis. These hiring individuals usually tell themselves that the illegal is responsible for tax obligations (Income, SSI, Worker's Comp, Medicare, Unemployment Ins Tax, etc.). And those they hire, legal and illegal, then wish to be paid in cash to avoid reporting.

Ergo, as this kind of employment is a major form of employment for illegals, many illegals don't pay their taxes.

Maybe we should ask Barry? Were those "concentration camp" style accommodations not originally built by his admin?

People...and you too TU Curmudgeon :3oops:
It is not a "bad" thing, to want to control your own nation's immigration. In fact, some might go as far as calling that a "wise" move.
Unfortunately, for a number of odd and rather laughable reasons, there are thousands of Central Americans and assorted others, flooding a limited system and causing, again what some might go as far as calling, a "crisis". You have a president who warned this was happening...and it is. We ALL know that Trump is insisting wall funding go into any immigration bill. We ALL know that he is in the process of circumventing the Democrats, by moving money around his domain. And we ALL know...walls happen to work.

This is a fight you can't win. And frankly...I can't figure out why all the faux outrage? Less than a decade ago...during the previous administration...Democrats were all for a wall. No kidding Libbies...can we be just a little more obvious?

As for this whole, even more faux outrage, over the "asylum" thing...make a gate, put an office behind the gate, put an immigration officer in the office WITH a judge, let 5 people a day in, hear all 5 "asylum" cases and make decisions, let whoever truly qualifies in, escort whoever does not back through the gate which just happens to be right...handy. Problem solved.

Any who wonder across illegally...are deported immediately regardless of excuses. Because THAT HAPPENS TO BE THE LAW!

This is simple to understand, and simple to implement. Come on America...you can handle this one.

I thought that these people were coming here for a better life? To escape imminent death? Isn't being fed and housed, although not ideal, without the fear of MS13 coming in and raping and killing your family better? Hell, if they don't like it they can not come or they can shut. Personally, I think people should shut the **** up about it and thank the US Government for helping save lives.

Maybe we should ask Barry? Were those "concentration camp" style accommodations not originally built by his admin?

Actually many of them were built in the 1940s and I don't think that Mr. Obama was the President of the United States of America back then.

Of course I could be wrong and I am sure that you will correct me if I am.

Remember, during WWII, the head of the Canadian government was receiving his political advice from his dog, a Ouija Board, and his mother (who happened to be dead), so I suppose that anything could have happened.

US history of putting families in cages didn't start with Trump - Business Insider

Doesn't surprise me about Mackenzie King. But I don't know. Funny idea though.

What is annoying to me, is that all this outrage isn't really because of some moral offense, its about Trump. Man I don't even like some of his personality traits, but find myself continuously defending him, because Libbies have gone stark raving mad.

Ya wanna have fun about Trump's sexcapades? I'm in.
His odd oratory style? Good its odd as hell. Sounds like he's trapped in a buggy time machine sometimes.
But I'm not gonna make crap up about the guy, just to take SJW cheap-shots. I do not virtue-signal.

I'm sitting here watching Trumpy and Li'l Justine right now. They have a trade deal and it looks like Justine is happy about it.
Justine isn't saying much but...you know...he nods and smiles...

The man has accomplished some good stuff, and I agree the US border needs protection. Hell I'd have closed it by now.
I like results. I see very good results. The rest, to me, is fluff for fluffy people.

We could build detention centers directly on the border along with some walls, with a locked entry door on the U.S. side and an unlocked exit door on the Mexico side, allowing them to return home if they wish or go seek food when they become hungry.

Having actually just visited Buchenwald not less than 2 weeks ago, having stood in the courtyard where hundreds of dead were stacked, having unsuspectingly walked into the room where the ovens were, seeing the bin the bodies were dumped, the physician office hoax where the unsuspecting stand on a wall to take their height only to be shot in the back of the head by a slit in the wall and a closet where the soldier did the deed without having to personally see who he just killed, repeatedly, having driven on the blood road into the camp that those imprisoned built, the small prison cells where those inhabited knew death was near... to witness all of that, and then to hear these comparisons -- truly you people are ****ing pathetic.
