I don't listen to much talk radio, but every once in awhile, while driving from A to B, I would listen to tidbits of our local, AM morning talk shows, with leftist hosts, followed by small portions of right wing afternoon shows while headed from B to A. Occasionally I'd be lucky enough to catch one of Rush Limbaugh's montages of mainstream news media 'taglines'. Despite being on air at the same time, on different stations/channels, there would be dozens of examples of 'journalists' repeating the same exact statements, filled with the same adjectives and the same over-the-top praise(for democrats) or harsh criticisms/insults(for republicans).

One that comes to mind, was when Obama decided to order a military "surge" in Afghanistan, choosing David Petraeus as overall leader. Just a few years earlier, Barack Obama was completely against Bush's Iraq surge(as were most big democrats), and those same dems were against Petraeus as its leader. Hillary stood in the Senate claiming that Petraeus was a bad choice and could NOT be trusted. They hammered Bush over both decisions b4 the surge was to start. Of course, the media carried their anti-surge, anti-Petraeus water.

But when Obama decided to have his own surge, ironically choosing David Petraeus as leader, the media exploded with praise of the highest order for Obama AND Petraeus! Rush's montage covered those media responses. Literally dozens of times, many anchors and 'journalists' said the exact same thing, "this is a brilliant decision by Barack Obama, and David Petraeus is a perfect choice for leader of the operation".....

But this montage is of mainstream media hyper-exaggeration and 'sky is falling' predictions, starting in early 2017 and continuing forward from there: https://youtu.be/FJkhUAdHqbQ

Excellent! I didn't realize Erin Burnett had such large mammalian protuberances.

Understandable. Things like that are hard to see on RADIO.

Wow! I have seen the same thing on conservative talk radio with one notable exception. Conservative talk radio often simply makes up s--t.

Conservative talk radio feeds the fears of the Rightists. I remember listening to a program that ranted over and over about the homosexual degradation of society. It could have focused on a divorce rate over 50%. But no, it's those d***ed homosexuals, even though the prevalence of homosexuality is the same as it was 50 years ago.

Even Fox criticised the surge. A Fox Poll showed 59% of Americans opposed the surge. Many of the talking heads on Fox were in line with the poll. Mind you this was about the time Rush was popping oxycontin, perhaps he has selective memory, or was busy doctor shopping for another refill.
