Kanye West is brutalized by CNN

This is what happens to black people when they support Donald J. Trump, POTUS.

"Kanye West is what happens when negros don't read" "Black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft" "He's an attention whore" "He's a token negro" "He clearly has issues"

"He's already been hospitalized"

Don Lemon couldn't stop laughing.

Kayne has been blasted ever since he came on stage and blasted Taylor Swift at the Grammy awards

It appears the OP-er and others who share his/her view that "Kanye West [was] brutalized by CNN" are among the 32% of Americans who have difficulty discerning between news and opinion and who also struggle to identify whose voice they hear.
Ascribing to the notion that CNN "brutalized" West is precisely what is meant by "shooting the messenger."
Argumentum Ad-hominem: Shoot the messenger fallacy
Argumentum ad hominem basically means that the argument becomes directed towards the individual as opposed towards the crucial issues being discussed. It is succinctly described as, attack the messenger not the message (hence - shoot the messenger). It is often seen in both politics and pseudoscience.

Its aim is to undermine the position of ones opponent, by undermining the opponent personally (in a manner that is actually completely irrelevant to the debate). The hope here is that if one can discredit the individual, this by default, discredits his / her argument. It does not. The fallacy here relates to the irrelevance of the attack. It is not viable to argue against a position and then justify that argument by criticising the individual who holds it.

Arguing that the proposals from the Educational minister are unlikely to work because he/she have no children of their own is hardly convincing. Furthermore, saying that Einstein or Darwin were selfish men does nothing to discredit the theories of Relativity and Evolution. They may have been the most selfish or the most unselfish of men, but this is an irrelevance as to the 'truth' of their scientific claims. Similarly, a cognitive neuroscientific account of strange experiences (i.e., near-death experiences) is not incorrect simply because the scientist proposing it is a skeptic.

These are all examples of the ad-hominem fallacy. Any claim or theory cannot be rejected solely on the basis of who holds it.

Telling who is speaking -- the commentator or the news organization itself -- is quite simple: if there's no byline or the byline indicates the organization's editorial board, the remarks/ideas are those of the organization that published them; otherwise the remarks/ideas are those of the commentator indicated in the byline.

AFAIK, it's very rare for television news networks to utter their own opinions. Newspapers and magazines, on the other hand, routinely publish the views of the organization's editorial board and publisher. Accordingly, when one sees and hears opinions on any television news program, one can be reasonably sure that the views expressed are those of the speaker. That they are the speaker's views does not mean the network/channel does or does not share them. It just means that the views expressed are those of the speaker, nothing more and nothing less.

If one is of a mind to remark upon CNN's behavior, at least identify something CNN in fact did. As goes the video clip in the OP, what did CNN do? It engaged commentators individuals who ridiculed Kanye West's behavior.

Commentators are invited based on their "opinion" regarding a certain subject.
Inviting several commentators with the same opinion reflects the opinion of said media.

CNN brutalized Kanye!

And thats why these stations aren't "news" anymore.

It isn't just on CNN, Progressive Democrat Christopher Hahn just made a racist statement about Kayne West on Tucker Carlson.

"It has been a long time since Kanye had to split a KFC buffet with anyone".
- Chistopher Hahn

The left is definitely up **** creek if black people start getting behind Trump.

They are already and it started when CNN let Marc Lamont step up there and call everyone who Trump was meeting with at the time "Mediocre Negroes".

So here is the deal folks: Kanye has to be punished for going "out of bounds" which is code for "refusing to say what he is supposed to say should he choose to open his mouth".

There must be consequences, or else others will follow this bad idea of working to muck up the conformity that UTOPIA demands as the entry price.

There is no time to lose.

Violence is called for.

The bus drivers say.

Is that your opinion ? Do you have a cite to back up your statement?

The Right with be up the creek without the poor uneducated rural white vote

Blacks and Hispanics will never get behind Trump. Yes, he can parade his 'black friend' Kanye West, or Don King or haul around the 'Blacks For Trump' guy, 'Michael the Black man' (as he calls himself), to all his rallies. In reality, the majority of Blacks and Hispanics despise him. Trump using them for props is just despicable. People aren't stupid, they know exactly what he's doing with his 'Black friends', he's using them. Kanye West stated "he cares about the way Black people feel." I have news for Kanye West and anyone else that falls for Trumps disingenuous friendships with anyone of color, he doesn't give a CRAP about anyone but himself and his kids, well two of them anyway, Eric hardly registers in his brain.

And yes, Kanye West is an idiot, legitimately mentally ill not merely stupid. Let's just take a look at the list of celebrity Black people that support Trump or who have previously supported him;

Paris Dennard - formerly a commentator for CNN but suspended "for making sexually explicit comments and gestures toward women."

Omarosa - Officially off the Trump favorite list

Ben Carson - An idiot that got his lucrative cabinet position by kissing Trump's ass

Mike Tyson - Six years in prison (served three years) and four years of probation. Criminal status - Tier II sex offender

Diamond and Silk - who the hell are these two and why did Fox promote them? Oh yes, because they're video bloggers, Fox uses them to show that Blacks like Trump (groan)

Stacey Dash - a woman that should just shut up because she's so stupid and stick to doing music videos with Kanye West

Dennis Rodman - Settled a lawsuit with Connie Wilcox, a Las Vegas waitress, who accused Rodman of grabbing her breasts. Sentenced to probation and required to attend an alcohol program after pleading guilty to driving under the influence. Charged again in 2016 with four misdemeanors after allegedly driving on the wrong side of a freeway, being involved in a hit and run, not having a valid license and lying to police.

Jimmy McMillan - founded 'The Rent Is Too Damn High Party'. Now he's endorsing presidential candidate Deez Nuts (groan)

Pastor Mark Burns - the South Carolina pastor who was outed for falsifying his biography.

Jim Brown - July 24, 1965 - A jury finds Brown not guilty of assault and battery against 18-year-old Brenda Ayres, after an incident in his hotel room. 1968 - Brown is charged with assault with intent to commit murder after model Eva Bohn-Chin is found beneath the balcony of Brown's second floor apartment. 1978 - Is sentenced to one day in jail for beating and choking his golfing partner, Frank Snow. Brown is also fined $500 and receives two years' probation. 1985 - Brown is charged with raping and assaulting a 33-year-old woman in his home. The judge later dismisses the charges based on inconsistent testimony.August 1986 - Brown is arrested for assaulting live-in girlfriend Debra Clark. The charges are later dropped after Clark refuses to prosecute. June 15, 1999 - Following a domestic disturbance with his wife Monique, Brown is arrested and charged with making terrorist threats toward his wife. September 10, 1999 - A jury finds Brown guilty of vandalism for smashing his wife's car with a shovel during the June incident. January 5, 2000 - Brown is sentenced to six months in jail for refusing the court-ordered counseling and community service hours handed down in 1999. He serves almost four months in the Ventura County jail in 2002.

Don King - investigated for possible connections with organized crime. During a 1992 Senate investigation, King invoked the Fifth Amendment when questioned about his connection to mobster John Gotti. King has been charged with killing two people in incidents 13 years apart. In 1954, King shot a man in the back after spotting him trying to rob one of King's gambling houses; this incident was ruled a justifiable homicide. In 1967, King was convicted of nonnegligent manslaughter for stomping one of his employees to death. For this, he served three years and eleven months in prison.

Kanye West - "Some of Donald Trump’s views on Christianity, honestly, is what caused me to vote for him." (groan)

Maybe not behind "Trump", but many hispanics are conservative. Mainly because religion plays a big part in their lives.

Without knowing it, you just proved the OP's point by attacking and smearing every black who has sided with Trump or republicans. Tell me, did you compile such a list of those blacks who visited the Obama White House? No of course you didnt.

Kanye is in for it now:

He said he had been extremely patient on the subject, and that West had even asked him to come along on his visit to POTUS.

T.I. was glad that he had declined, he noted. He said West “behaved spinelessly,” “ass kissing” and “boot licking on a whole new level.”

“At one time it was a pleasure to work alongside you… now, I’m ashamed to have ever been associated with you,” T.I. continued.

We cant be associating with people who think wrong, not anymore, ...this is 2018 almost 2019 for cripes sake!

Aren't all celebs worthless loud mouth trash who should keep their political opinions to their selves? - or is the new standard as long as they are conservative then it's okay? That pretty much sums up the right embracing Kanye West. The right has shredded every other celeb who has spoken out loud to share their political belief but Kanye is okay because he supports them. The hypocrisy - shame shame!

What I want to know is what in Hell was Kanye thinking?

Did he seriously have no idea how much this nation has decayed?

The Kartrashian clan including West are attention whores. I really don't think Kanye stands for anything of substance - I simply see Kanye whoring himself out to the person that will get him the most attention - in this case Trump!

CNN did not brutalize West. Commentators who appeared on CNN expressing their own opinion may have done, but nothing in the video clip indicates the views any of the four individuals expressed are those of CNN and its management.

CNN is a media outlet that various individuals having their own points of view appear. When CNN wants to express its own organizational opinion, it does so, and when it does so, CNN or the person communicating CNN's position is very clear in noting that the view is CNN's not the announcer's.

Pay attention to the job titles noted for Bakari Sellers and Tara Setmayer. They, along with the other guy, are commentators, not CNN producers or leadership/executives. E.g.,
News networks are quite similar to newspapers in that the distinction between an author's opinion and that of the outlet itself is clearly delineated. About the only difference is that newspapers put the paper's editorial board and publisher's POV on the editorial page and they put others' in columns and on the Op-ed page(s).

CNN is an embarrassment to ethical journalism only because they claim to be included under the banner of "ethical journalism". CNN is to Ethical Journalism what Kermit Gosnell is to Prenatal Medicine.

The bright spot in the darkness is that the number of people who rely on CNN for news is shrinking faster than a cheap sweater in a hot dryer.

CNN's audience is getting to the point where they could all meet in the same bus on the way to their freeway exit jobs promising to work for food.

If it weren't for the parents and other blood relatives of little Donny, he'd probably be speaking only to the floor crew that counts him in and out and runs the lights.

Seriously, more people see him when his idiocy is replayed to reveal his stupidity on FOX than see him on CNN.

<snip>
CNN is currently ranked behind ESPN and Nickelodeon. Fox News, MSNBC, HGTV, and The USA Network all defeated CNN in ratings.

pay attention black people, if you step out of line the massas at CNN will hobble you. They accused a white guy of being a gang rapist with no evidence, what do you think these people will do to a black guy?

lol

You should read some of the right winger's reactions to Taylor Swift saying she will vote against a Republican because of LGBT issues. Their heads are exploding.

P.S. Gotta love the shakycam. Real pros right there.

Link(s)?

Uh, no, they're not. "CNN brutalized Kanye" is a synedoche.

The company did not attack Kanye; a few commentators did. It could go either way, as long as we acknowledge that what really happened was "several commentators on a CNN opinion show expressed displeasure over Kanye's recent political views."

These shows are written to a degree and the comments are structured and the conversations are engineered. Any debate or discussion is as spontaneous as a pro wrestling match.

The comments are subject to editorial pre-approval and this means that the comments from the paid commentators are endorsed by the employer of the "commentators" no matter how stupid the approved comments may be.

As Walter Cronkite used to say, "... that's the way it is."

The left is definitely up **** creek if black people start getting behind Trump.

That is why the attacks on West are being conducted.

If Blacks start leaving the plantation, the slave owners are screwed and the slave owners know it.

They are going to make an example of West as they tried to do with Kavanaugh.

The message is simple and direct: "Here's what will happen to YOU if you try this crap".

Kanye West is a pretty independent and forceful individual. He and Trump are similar in this way.

Many sheep on the Democrat side of things, craving a seat at the Cool Kids Table, are not so equipped and will be controlled by Democrat Party intimidation and hate.

I'm a right winger and I don't give a rats arse about Taylor Swift or anything she says.

It's a shame that such a weak mind is perched on the top of those terrifically long legs.

The CEO and top brass of CNN do not vet or personally vet every single commentator on every single opinion show.

Sometimes the views of commentators are in line with the corporate culture; sometimes they are not.

So, let's say Hannity attacks the FBI on his Fox News Show one night, and on that night has guests who join his attack on the FBI. We can say "Fox News attacked the FBI." As with the CNN example, that's a synecdoche, and expresses a somewhat accurate truth. But it's because we really know it means "Hannity and his invited guests attacked the FBI on his Fox news show."

This attribution would make more sense if CNN or Fox spent several days where their opinion shows were targeting someone. That would be a much better scenario for "news station is attacking X" than just a single show.

On a side note, I don't recall the right rushing to Kanye's defense when he was attacking Bush 43. Nor do I hear them defending the rights of most hip-hop artists. I wonder why?

When Hannity attacks the FBI, he ALWAYS adds a disclaimer that the vast majority of the folks in the FBI are hard working professionals trying their best to do a very even and honest job.

He goes on to say that there have been a few people in [postions of authority in the FBI who are obviously not so committed and that they need to be investigated. As a surprise to nobody, some of these folks have been fired or indicted for their actions.

What were the similar such disclaimers on the Don Lemon hit piece against West?

And yet, Trump is the best thing that happened to the Black community since the Brown v Board of Education decision.
