I think that permitting a president to pick and choose whose questions he will answer, and who he will attack for merely questioning has a chilling effect on the media's reporting. You might be happy with Fox news as an option, but when it's the only one allowed, I hope you would feel differently.
The bolded is more hyperbolic than anything I've ever heard on CNN ...I really don't like it and maybe it would be best for Trump to just ignore CNN like Obama ignored FOX.
But when you have Acosta-basically now a carnival barker-escalating his petulant behavior with every news conference and now resorting to screaming at Trump and making a spectacle of himself, it's hard not to respond.
Might even to dangerous to ignore!

Well, too a point I suppose.Trump is not wrong about CNN. I've been a long time viewer of CNN, basically the only televised news source from America that I frequent, and it's becoming virtually unwatchable these days with its 24/7 Hillary butt hurt and attempts to damage President Trump on every single issue/angle. The days of Judy Woodruff and Bernard Shaw, titans of integrity in CNN's storied history are long, long gone and the remnants of what was once great are a sad commentary on American journalism.
I'd argue CNN's longtime mainstream brand of news is dying. Presenting live coverage and objectively balanced news, does not seem to be desired by today's hyper-political hyper-partisan cable news crowd.I don't watch CNN and will take you at your word. If CNN has decided to work MS-NBC's street corner, wouldn't that be a poor business decision? I wonder where CNNs more moderate viewers will go? Is cable news in decline anyway? Could this be a first step towards a CNN/MS-NBC merger? As an aside: The rare occasion that I watch MS-NBC, the MS part reminds me to switch exclusively to Linux.
Hitler told CNN they were fake news?
Well said in it's entirety, especially the bolded.Oh, I'm no psychologist or psychiatrist, but his personality type should be obvious to even his most dense supporter. This is a silver-spooned elitist, who has spent his entire life looking at the world from a pampered position, and who has surrounded himself with people who allow him to behave in a manner of his choosing without repercussion. This is why he obviously brings out the lesser morality in people who make up his circle. He is, by definition, a spoiled brat who had been overindulged his entire life. Now that he is more than just a celebrity on a television show where his abrasive antics were laughed at, he doesn't know how to behave properly and chooses to lash out at anybody (fake news) who dares disprove. He's rich, therefore, he is better.
And this is the guy that conservatives pinned all their hopes and dreams on for "change?!" Instead of voting for the guy that receives a check for his campaign platform, they merely went to the guy who writes the checks.
Very good point. It's disgraceful to see the press not standing up for each other.
CNN has become basically the anti-Trump news network. Now avoiding a network what is anti you isn't new. Obama avoided Fox for most of his presidency outside of a couple interviews with O'Riely. When a news network is openly hostile to you, avoiding them when possible has precedence.
This is what happens when news networks take sides in our political battles. That taking sides causes the public to lose trust in the news reporting media. Very few Americans anymore trust the media to report the news fully, fairly and accurately. Way too many uses sound bites to further push whichever side of our political battles they are on and ignore the whole story or even the factual one.

Here's one. What happens when the only media permitted to report are those selected and approved by the President?
Hitler tried to destroy the free press. Those who don't pay attention to history...
Without putting too fine a point on this, there was no free press in Nazi Germany.
The press in Nazi Germany was a propaganda machine the portrayed the enemies of the Reich as subhuman threats that needed to be eradicated by any and all means.
The press in the US at that time was a propaganda machine that portrayed the enemies of America as militant imperialists that needed to be eradicated by any and all means.
The press at all times is a conduit that relays the ideas and narratives of the folks who control it.
Remember the Maine!
The press is not a holy and sacred thing. It is only one more business to be guided by those seeking profit in one form or another.
Perversion of the "truth" by the press is nothing new. Churchill was asked if history would treat him well. He said that it would as he intended to write it.
Hitler, FDR, Churchill and Stalin all used the press to accomplish their goals. Democracy, Monarchy, Nazism and Communism all have employed, do employ and will employ this tool to accomplish their goals.
If you think that the press ever was or is an impartial arbiter of truth, you are missing the real goals of the "the free press" that you seem to hold in such high esteem.
Unquestioning trust in anything that is not your mother is probably not going to serve you well.

The parallels with Trump and Hitler are many. Now he's telling Europe that immigration is bad and it is ruining their culture The least cultured president we have ever had lecturing others.
You can't make this **** up.
You seem to have backed away from the point I was addressing.
What are the parallels you are referencing?
Trump is deregulating as much as he can and thereby decentralizing power away from Washington.
This was not and is not the practice of a dictator.
The establishment folks on both sides of the aisle work tirelessly to centralize power, expand regulation and increase taxes and government control of our lives and economy.
If anything, Trump is the anti-Hitler.
Presidents who work to increase regulation and tax rates are the Hitler clones. Can we think of any recent presidents that fit this mold?
Well im pretty sure Hitler deregulated tons of stuff for corporations back in the day. Just not common people. Big corporations LOVED nazi-germany.
Under Naziism, Government directs the efforts of Big Business.
Ultimate control and day to day direction pretty much eliminates the need for regulation.
So what are you doing now? Watching Fox News? :lamo

Freedom of press: Yet again today we have news "White male calls cops on black lady using new coupons"
But when we had "92 year old mexican man beaten with brick by..... Racist" and it turns out it was a black woman.... Why isnt it "92 year old mexican man beaten by brick by black woman"
EVERY SINGLE PERSON i talked to in real life assumed it was a white person that beat him with a brick because the news conveniently left the race out on purpose because a black person did it.
So obviously news CAN have some sorta fake agenda or flavor they wanna push.
Let me know when its starts using special forces against news agents and then ill be worried.
Obviously Trump and The News both have agendas!
Well, too a point I suppose.
I'd argue the whole industry has slipped in demeanor over the years, and that CNN is still one of the better and more factual.
