The Associated Press decided to weigh in on the 'catastrophic' TEMPORARY separation of illegal immigrant children, by releasing an article about physical and mental abuses in a detention center in the Shenandoah valley. Its a VERY long article of probably 3000 words, but I'll lead you to the details that they buried deep in the article. Ben Shapiro did a podcast about this, but since then, the AP have gone back and attempted to scrub away the parts detrimental to Obama in the original copy, but it was spread across the MSM, so I found the original at CBS.

In the article, you will see Trump's name mentioned repeatedly, but you will NOT see Obama's name mentioned anywhere. That's because they are attempting to tie this abuse directly to Trump(and only Trump). They list all sorts of alleged physical abuse, beatings etc.

The inconvenient truth is buried deep down in the article, where they mention dates of 2015 and 2016, but the real smoking gun that exposes their deception, is way down in paragraph 45.

It states: "Though lawyers for Shenandoah responded with court filings denying all wrongdoing, information contained in a separate 2016 lawsuit appears to support some of the information contained in the recent abuse complaints". BTW: Trump didn't take office til 2017!

This proves 2 points: (1). These abuses began and occurred primarily under Obama, but they are attempting to shift the blame away from him onto Trump. (2). This story was ignored by the media until now that it's more politically beneficial. (3). They don't really care about these kids.:(

How do you know what outlets that carried AP's article without edits?

I don't see the same headline used for an AP article, but I do see it used by other outlets.
It's important to understand the adaptation terms of various licensee's agreements with the AP (or other news services) before deriding the nature of news service content one sees.
It's probably a good idea to read the AP's standards and practices before effectively accusing the organization of not adhering to them.

From the OP:
"...decided to weigh in on the 'catastrophic' TEMPORARY separation of illegal immigrant children..."

  • [*=1]The article you cited doesn't describe anything as catastrophic.
[*=1]The temporal quality of the separations indeterminate.
"...the AP have gone back and attempted to scrub away the parts detrimental to Obama in the original copy"

  • [*=1]Really? The CBS version doesn't even mention Obama.

    • [*=1]Paragraph 3 in the AP site article:

      • [*=1]"Multiple detainees as young as 14 said guards stripped them of their clothes and strapped them to chairs with bags placed over their heads. The incidents described in the lawsuit occurred from 2015 to 2018, during both the Obama and Trump administrations."
"This proves 2 points: (1). These abuses began and occurred primarily under Obama, but they are attempting to shift the blame away from him onto Trump. (2). This story was ignored by the media until now that it's more politically beneficial. (3). They don't really care about these kids."

  • [*=1]"The media's" job isn't expressly to "care" about anything other than providing journalistic content. News these days is a business affair, and, for the most part, what attracts revenue is what earns prominence of place in the news.

No news outlet can report everything that happens. That said, individuals who distinguish between news and editorials and consume the former are likely to be better informed. What news content one chooses to consume (or not) is to one's own benefit or detriment. To be sure, political editorialists, particularly those opining on national politics, aren't about to have much and/or anything to say about isolated matters of limited scope.
