EPA blocks CNN and Associated Press journalists from attending Pruitt speech

NPR was invited?!?

You're laughing off press access based on your partisan bias. Don't pretend you wouldn't react the same to anyone except Fox News being denied access.

I would raise my left eye brow ever so slightly if Fox News were the only media with access to the WH.
But, as it stands, there is a multitude of liberal media with access to the WH.

Frankly, I hope for more CNN banning. Can't remember when they last reported anything positive about Trump ... let alone anything about the present administration that wasn't misconstrued by them.
Has CNN apologized or corrected their reporting on the "they're all animals" story?!?

Besides, as the article says, there wasn't room for all the media that wanted to be there ... and everybody invited/not invited has been informed long before.

What makes CNN think they are entitled to an invitation?!?

Being against freedom of the press is very Un-American of you.

The press was invited. So, what's your problem?!?

No......they blocked members of the press who had questions.

Is there anything you won't make excuses for?

Shame on you

Precisely. You'd slightly raise an eyebrow while the rest of us would recognize the serious danger to our democracy.

Censureship. Pure & simple. A sign of authoritative regimes. We never thought it could come to America, but it has.

Were any other news organizations there?

It’s not censorship. It does not meet the definition of such.

I think it’s great, it’s time these meetings stop becoming a circus. The reporters are going to hear the meeting and hear policy prescriptions then demand to ask questions about the airplane and the apartment deal that the EPA ethics officer approved.

This countries citizens have no reasonable beef concerning this new EPA chief, he's doing a super job!
Why anyone would even bring this subject up is beyond me. Pruitt is one of the most effective members of the
cabinet. His acceptance of the position after Obama's chief Gina McCarthy lead to the greatest upgrade in the office in the
history of the EPA!

So the interesting thing here is if one news organization is not invited and it is because they are not favorable to the administration, don't you think that becomes problematic because it sets up others who may pose challenging questions down the road? If all you want is favorable news, then propaganda becomes an easier proposition. I'm not a fan of CNN, but any administration should be able to handle critical news reporters rather than shutting people out.

Interesting coincidence that it's CNN, AP, and E&E? I'd buy it more if Fox would have been part of that list as well. Then there's the issue of there having been empty seats and an AP reporter being forced out by security despite the empty seats. She was allowed later, but odd situation nonetheless.

Censureship. Pure & simple. A sign of authoritative regimes. We never thought it could come to America, but it has.

How is it censorship, exactly? They aren't being restricted on what they write in any manner. Access =/= censorship in any way. It wasn't censorship when Obama blocked Fox News access either.

And there it is. They want only the state-run media arm to have access. Fascism 101 :)

It's quite obvious you have no clue what fascism is. I'll give you a little helping hand, China is a communist country and guess what they have for media? This lesson in Correcting Meaningless Platitudes 101 was pro bono.

All they want to do is SAY they were there and “report on it” unfairly. They give no quarter. Yes...censureship....isn’t it “censorship”?

Because conservatives have authortarian views.

Not all of them if you can find any conservatives in Washington. Extremely few republicans and almost no dems...are conservative.

Hardly, with a live stream being offered and the link to the OP. If it was truly censured we wouldn't know anything about it.

None the less, this is unprecedented and they had plenty of seats for them. Adding in that a reporter was physically removed from the building,
smells like just what the nazism. If this ridiculously and outlandishly hypocritical congress doesn't act, every R should be kicked out.

I notice there's no defense of the actual decision here. You're proving every liberal in this thread right :lamo

.....and every opponent of this admin.

Typical repub unfounded demonizing of those reporters. Next time AP, E&E and CNN have anything positive to report, to the Trumpeteers, they'll...be just fine.

You're right, it's not an accident. It's purposefully tweaking the nose of those who deserve it.

Rather, they are dipping their nazi toes in the water. Fascism will come to America, dragging a cross...draped in a flag.

We see it right in front of our eyes, if their open. Freedom of the press and speech be damned. Locking any press out is part & parcel...fascism.

It is govt. control and is in my dictionary. How are the security people physically removing the press from the bldg., not just like the Gestapo ?

Oh I see, we now have government of Trump, by Trump...and for Trump.
