Some insensitive comments were leaked from an internal White House meeting regarding Senator McCain. I’m not a fan of this Administration, but the press needs to move on. There appears there will be no public apology. Interesting the story of the leakers and their motivations and disguise of the leaks......

The Democrats, the establishment Republicans and a large faction within the media are heavily invested in maintaining the political class. This kind of story is what you get when an uninvited guest [Trump] crashes their party.

I am not even sure why this is a story at all. Some White House underling says something stupid in a private meeting and its national news for 3 days? I dont get it.

This is all about finding any excuse to badmouth Trump and anyone around him. Nothing more. And the only ones who care are those who don't like Trump.

It's important because it keeps the smoke screen going. Keeps us fighting and talking about a non issue while they are making the important (to them) moves.

The media will never stop. They think it's their patriotic duty to help unseat this president.
Resist, resist, resist is their motto.

...and that group of people is also well vested in having competency in the White House, which we do not have. When 56% of the American public thinks you are unfit for the office (incompetent), you are going to have a majority of the people calling you out on every wrong move....and, since the man is unfit for the job, those wrong moves are frequent (and dangerous)....

Most Young Americans Think Trump Is Mentally Unfit To Be President, Poll Shows

You can like Trump, but acknowledge baggage he brings to the job and have some respect for those that are concerned.

It's fascinating how many people there must be who have access to the White House and who are willing to report on the unsavory doings of Trump and company.

Trump's loyalty litmus test isn't working out so well.

Maybe it's time he gave up on that and started using something like competence as a criteria for serving in the White House.

Just a wild idea I had ....

Hehe ... I guess I should have read all the posts before I added mine.

I guess my idea wasn't so wild at all.

Too bad Trump still won't try it.

It's still a story because Victim Culture demands an apology, and there has not been one.

Agreed. I think VC is a primary reason for the existence of political correctness. Unfortunately, no amount of apology will make McCain live longer. We can also apologize for slavery, yet this has no effect on inner cities. We're all 'sorry' about taking the Indian's land, yet they still fester on reservations.

However, since VC and PC are constructs from a mostly white elitist class, it's easy to follow the rules. Though I can't heal McCain or make black lives matter in Detroit (actually improve their condition), I can blame other people and look the hero - at least according to the press.

It is interesting to note the level of distrust this may have created. Lets set the (vile) comment aside, lets set this admin aside and put yourself in those shoes. You make a comment that is being repeated. Wouldn't you wonder why someone repeated/leaked that comment? Why didn't that person pull you aside? Would you be reluctant to speak freely from hereon out, would you wonder if you can trust anyone?
No excuse for that hurtful comment, and aside all that, put yourself in those shoes. No matter how careful you are weighing your words, someone can spin them in any direction. I think the leaker should be made public and some serious questions should be asked. I don't like grandstanding gossips.

I cannot imagine the tension.

It is a great demonstration of just how superficial and trivial the media is. This is the pablum we consumers are fed, the opiate of the masses.
