NYT is not afraid of Trump whines. Haberman is a respected professional journalist. The President is none of those things:

NYT Twitter Page:
We are extremely proud of @maggieNYT, who is a part of a team that just won a Pulitzer Prize. We stand by our story and our reporting.
Also of note. Maggie interviewed the President, twice in the Oval Office and 3 times by telephone. The NYT has made the recording of those interviews available. In order to combat the lies from Trump. Such a stupid, stupid man.

Trump's attacks on her are nothing different from what he's done to all the rest: if they don't kowtow to him and refer to him in glowing terms, they're less than dirt to him.

And the Right loves him for it.

Facts mean nothing to Trump, and even less to his more ardent followers.

Actually I think this is quite different. It seems that NYT is jumping right out of the gate. A) defending Haberman, and B) by throwing in the audio tapes for good measure. It shows, that people IMO ever since Stormy, are no longer afraid of Trump's words.

Trump is kinda like a really bad case of AIDS; no matter what you throw at it the **** just keeps getting worse & worse, and won't go away ........

Why does the Times think it matters that she won a Pulitzer? It's well known that the overwhelming majority of winners in journalism are liberals, or they've written articles that target the GOP.

Interesting, but possibly true.

So Stormy leads the way! Funny, but true!

I think I'm starting to like this girl. If Trump takes a fall, I know there's going to be a movie. And I wouldn't be surprised if she plays herself.

How hard could it possibly be to be better and smarter than Trump?

it's likely not difficult to be smarter than a complete ****ing moron

And yet here you are complaining that the ****ing moron keeps moving the ball against your interests.

You best sit down for a think as your head is not computing.

Some part of your story is wrong.

I didn't know Harvey Weinstein was a Republican. The stories that won the Pulitzer Prize were NOT partisan. They just reported on stuff that happened. Stop being such a snowflake about this stuff.

Also do you care that your party is attacking well established members of the Republican Party constantly? Like Comey and Mueller and Rosenstein?

So. What's your point?

Don't forget Avenatti has shown Trump's legal team to suck. He kicked their a**es twice, and made sure no others came knocking. Also now that Cohen is being dragged through the mud and he's stopping the frivolous lawsuits, he can take that win too and shove it up Donny's butt. Avenatti is right. Cohen is a crappy lawyer and he wiped the floor with him. Stormy is beating Trump at his own media game as well.

Like most con-men have to do in the end, Trump has resorted to hiring TV lawyers not unlike Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman. "Criminal" Lawyers. He.He. The tweet attacks today over a period of twelve hours, (I assumed he figured Bush's funeral was a good distraction), prove that he is guilty as all heck. The House of Cards Trump built is very wobbly.

Hey that's two TV references in one post, not bad.

Who would seriously claim that the Pulitzer for journalism isn't almost exclusively reserved for liberal journalists?

Also do you care that your party is attacking well established members of the Republican Party constantly? Like Comey

Come now. Democrats demanded the firing of Comey way back in 2016. Now that they know Comey intended to end the email investigation before even interviewing the subject of the investigation, they know he's one of them.

and Mueller

Mueller is as open for criticism as anyone else is in government.

and Rosenstein?

Let's consider an alternative scenario: If Loretta Lynch or her deputy had a hand in raiding the office of one of Hillary Clinton's lawyers, she would have been ripped to shreds by the media, plus likely forced out of DOJ by Obama.

What's more snowflake than telling conservatives that they can't criticize members of government? More than snowflake, that sounds like communism in North Korea.

Oh yes, great defense. "Stop bragging about Pulitzer prizes NYT!!!! Only conservatives can complain about things that go against their agenda!!! Liberals are Never allowed to defend themselves against baseless attacks!!!!"

I know you don't care about Trump constantly attacking Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein et al. You could have just said that instead of creating alternate realities for yourself to believe in. But then again, they don't call it the alt-right for nothing.

First off, Avenatti is pretty amazing. Great at PR and media, and seems to know how to use the courts and media as one seamless weapon of force. And not that he's a media-flash, only. Not at all. His history of winning high-profile cases in a courtroom is legion.

Secondly, while I see Avenatti as the kingpin here, Stormy has the guts to go out there and mix it up, unashamedly. She's not perfect, but she definitely seems capable to the task at hand.

Take a look at part of her presser from in front of the SDNY courthouse, after Trump failed at getting control of the Cohen evidence:

“He has never thought that the little man, or especially women or even more, women like me, matter. That ends now."

When she said, "or especially women, or even more women like me", I was struck by it. She said it with such conviction, and seemingly from her soul, that I thought to myself that she knows exactly who she is and what's her place in society, and she doesn't run from it! I found it pretty profound, to be honest.

Thirdly, I'd like to touch on the incompetence I believe I see in Trump & Cohen. Together, they managed to play fast and loose on the New York scene, succeeding it seems under an umbrella of hyperbole and false bravado. We'd like to think of NYC as this tough competitive place, but for these guys it seems bull**** and cons got them where they are today. Cohen's a lousy lawyer, and Trump makes terrible political decisions. They may have dominated NY, but they are dying in Washington. The had a real good thing going in NY, and were able to clean house financially even while being sloppy. Now, the same sloppy standards are not working at the national level. Cohen is dying, and Trump is only hanging-on by the grace of the GOP Congress.

And straight-up, this Stormy-Avenatti duo seems to be beating Trump & Cohen at their own game as well.

Trump, Cohen, Kushner, Jr., and the rest of the crew should have stayed in NY where it seems the life & money was easier. They had a sweet thing, there. Now, they will be lucky to still have their freedom by the time they leave. A time that appears indeterminate.

On this part. I have always been fascinated by the inner workings of the pornography industry. As much as I am a media expert, Porn counts too right? So I looked into it. The stereotype of the young dumb blonde porn-stars are very wrong, at least when it comes to the top players. Most porn-stars retire and go on to do some financial work in small businesses across the country (maybe to be closer to home if they want to leave the business altogether) or they set up their own internet marketing companies. Stormy can effectively be the first porn star to go mainstream. We don't think of her as ONLY a pornstar now do we? It takes smarts to do that.

The only time you ever hear of porn-stars getting into trouble is due to the seedy GUYS with tough guy like attitudes like Cohen who think they can take advantage of the girls due to their looks. And what they do for a living. If they escort it's different, but if they are solely a pornographic actress/stripper, they are NOT asking to get roughed up when NOT getting paid, or without consent.

Yes, a lot of them have personality issues, which caused them to go into porn in the first place. Stormy's defense of her talking now as opposed to either before the election or in 2011, makes no sense for instance. But her going into Trump's hotel room to watch shark week in the hopes of getting onto the Apprentice is NO different than the Hollywood Actresses going over to Harvey Weinstein's apartment to work on lines. I think Stormy raised the level of the entire pornographic industry and showed them that they can defend themselves against these men too. Avenatti is gonna be busy long after Stormy is gone, but she is the one who started it.

Trump either doesn't know the women he assaults or if they attack him, calls them names or third rate losers, like he did to Maggie. Bannon was right. MeeToo is going to DESTROY trump.

Also how petty do you have to be to have the need to want to debunk and act like you never met a reporter who says you like to call your staff people nicknames???

You bring-up some interesting points, thanks for your insight.

After watching the 60 Minutes interview, and hearing Stormy's version of the encounters, there is little doubt she was in control. It was purely transactional, and when Trump didn't put out, she was gone. So yeah, she's no idiot, and probably pretty smart and proficient at her industry.

And I agree #MeToo is going to sting Trump. We're already seeing it in the special elections with Caucasian suburban women. It also might be argued that women of color greatly helped push the Alabama Senate race to the Dems. In fact, the African American turnout for this recent Alabama race was higher than for Obama! How did that happen? That my friend, is the effect Trump and the current GOP are having on the Dem voters!

Cohen will probably be indicted, but I don't know about the rest.

Certainly a case should be brought against Kushner for false and misleading omissions on his SF-86 forms, and Trump and his son both appear to have broken FEC laws in different ways.

Anyone at the Trump Towers meeting sure looks like conspiracy to violate FEC, at the least. If there was a charge "conspiracy to collude", that's exactly what it would be.

At the very least, Trump and his sons public statements should be cited for obstruction.

Public statements are fair game for special counsels.

Making or causing to be made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States ...

This was used against both Nixon and Clinton in articles of impeachment.

There's pretty much nothing Trump won't lie about.

Unforced errors.
