If you thought Congress was bad, Diamond & Silk are leading the conservative battle against Facebook's supposedly anti-conservative stances. If you've watched Fox News at night you've probably seen them complaining on Laura Ingram's now ad free program, because advertisers don't want to touch her with a ten foot pole.

It seems that all this whining amounts to a change in facebook ad policies. It hasn't stopped Fox News from constantly running the narrative though.

This is a good breakdown from both highly liberal sites thinkprogress and mediamatters. Yes, I understand the problems with using the source material, but consider the targets and the fact that what is reported on those sites are facts. What Diamond & Silk are whining about is their untrue opinion.

Question, does anyone on here actually like them?

ThinkProgress and Media Matters ... you do have a sardonic sense of humor.
Against my instincts I gave ThinkProgress a click.
Does it matter that Zuckerberg acknowledged that Facebook ****ed up?
And Newsweek reported ...
Then on April 5, the sisters said, they received an email response from Facebook that stated, “The Policy team has came to the conclusion that your content and your brand has been determined unsafe to the community…. This decision is final and it is not appeal-able in any way.”

“They deemed us, our brand—because Diamond and Silk is the brand, we’re two women, we are the brand—unsafe to the community,” Diamond said.

A Facebook representative was unavailable to comment to Newsweek. In a statement to outlets including The Washington Post and Fox News, a company spokesperson seemed to confirm the email, saying, “We have communicated directly with Diamond And Silk about this issue. The message they received last week was inaccurate and not reflective of the way we communicate with our community and the people who run Pages on our platform. We have provided them with more information about our policies and the tools that are applicable to their Page and look forward to the opportunity to speak with them.”

So something happened.

What's wrong with using a highly liberal source to debunk a highly conservative one?

Also while Diamond and Silk are only complaining, with very little if any facts whatsoever. These publications looked into the issue. Facebook, may have sent a wrong message at one point, but does it matter that these two idiots are continuing to claim that something is happening to their pages when it isn't ongoing?

Nah...they're just noise trying to get attention.

If Laura Ingram could find someone the tiniest bit credible to be on her show, she would...but she can't, so D&S is the best she can get.

You mean you're not the least bit curious why Zuck would apologize for something that didn't happen given ThinkProgress and Media Matters has the proof that his own company is innocent?

I love how she was like. You are black. You are Conservative. You are woman. GRRRR!

Diamond and Silk say Facebook never called them... So I don't understand your question.

NOTE: Facebook did.

Greetings, bubba. :2wave:

Off topic, but today, Friday the 13th, is sure living up to its reputation! :2mad: I've had nothing but problems since I got out of bed this morning, and that's a fact! Damn! I had to ask DiAnna for help because the birthday greetings thread I started for Zyphlin early this morning is not showing up. I hope everyone else is having a better day than I am! :boohoo:

My question is really a statement ... Zuck wouldn't say he looked into a problem with his own company and then say “Congressman, in that specific case, our team made an enforcement error and we have already gotten in touch with them to reverse it.” if he found nothing wrong.

Would you like to talk about it my child?

OK...but these people are still acting like something is wrong, they are deliberately lying about the event, the facts of the matter, and why Facebook did what they did. And you don't seem to have a problem with that. As I stated before, it seems like these idiots didn't want to read the new guidelines. Yet here they are complaining about conservative bias. Boy do they hold a grudge.

Sounds like someone got off the liberal plantation....

If they were making money from their site and if facebook did something to affect that, they should sue for damages. I really do not care one way or the other if facebook is bias. They are a private entity and can censor content if they wish. Nobody is forcing anyone to use their products.

Facebook routinely makes changes to their platform and then tells users about it. I do agree that if they had a case Diamond and Silk should sue, I think it's vividly clear that they don't.

You keep trying to sell that as if they are making it all up but they did providence evidence that facebook did flag them and facebook has admitted that they were in error for doing so. Those two ladys, whom im not a fan of, are well within their rights to tell everyone within ears reach what facebook did to them. If I have my facts correct, Facebook did not correct the problem until they drew national attention to it by complaining on national tv. They are not doing anything wrong by telling people about their negative experience.

If that was all that they were doing, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but they are not accepting Facebook's account of what happened and what they did to rectify the problem. They are also using the Facebook-is-anti-conservative narrative to spread nonsense about how the platform operates. Facebook sent out a notification by mistake months ago, they are still not over it???

According to them facebook claim that they have contacted them and corrected the problem is false. I don't know if that's true or not but somebody is definitely mistaken or lying. As far as facebook being anti-conservative, I'm not sure. They might be and those women are entitled to their opinion just as your entitled to your opinion of it all being nonsense.

I think the complaints about Cambridge analytics and Congress grilling facebook about using data people voluntarily offered to facebook nonsense. That's my opinion.

Facebook is a company who offers services to people in exchange for being a customer base to their sponors. They can censor their content in any manner they see fit and they can use any data you volunteer to them as they see fit. If you have a problem with that, don't agree to their tos.

Well when you break it down two talk show hosts who don't read or understand TOS. It shows poor comprehension skills on their part. You can obviously assume that they are lying about Facebook not contacting them too.
Facebook meanwhile is a global corporation that records all customer complaints and changes to their TOS. Facebook would squash them in court simply because of that.

Zuck makes the same apologetic-sounding noises whenever questioned about shady activities, then carries on as before.

Im not assuming anything but I will say it would of been incredibly stupid if Zuckerberg to lied to congress about it.

So you don't care about the incredibly stupid lies that diamond and silk are spreading. You only care about getting facebook in a gotcha.

So, you see Diamond and Silk as "dangerous" and feel that a private business should be able to pick and choose their customers based on their customers beliefs?
