“For the most part.”
“Even our conservative papers.”
“Clearly labeled.”
Look. You can try and claim that journalists have integrity, but they don’t. They exist to sell news or sell a government lie. I know y’all have had some issues with certain laws being passed against your press. That wouldn’t fly here because of the constitution. But let’s be real here...Canada doesn’t have the same weight behind their news. Comparing your national news to ours is like me comparing my city paper to the New York Times. When the stakes are lower...so is the sensationalism. That’s why I read my local stuff and not the big money names (fox, cnn, and on and on). Local Fox News stations and local ABC stuff is pretty tame and straight forward. Probably the same thing you are used too.
Wow...good thing you aren't rocking some good ol' fashioned American arrogance in this last post, or I'd have to call you out for it... lolz... good grief!
I used those qualifiers to agree with you - it's not perfect. But, perhaps to your point, your media takes it to a whole other level. I guess at the end of the day I'm ok with our bumpkin news sources because I can trust when they say "this happened" that it actually did happen. They have an audience because they are not troubled with the same level of competition, and while we certainly have access to your news, we get our facts from our own venues. As ever, for the majority of us, American news is simply entertainment. I'm not sure what kind of "weight" you are suggesting that Canadian news doesn't have behind it, but I'd happily trade whatever you're talking about for facts, which your weighty news outlets seem to be quite often strapped for.
