Right Wing Media Backs Off CNN Scripted Questions Scandal:

The father and the son lied about CNN.

Fox lied about CNN.

End of story, sorry that you are butt-hurt that CNN aired something you disagree with, but they don't program their network based solely on what you want to see.

Well, I guess that proves CNN had no ulterier motives when they set up that Townhall...

And yet, that is your focus, not the lying by the dad...

Hannity admits to being misled and relaying the lie. Isn't that how's it's done with MSM. The do a 'correction' or do you consider them all lying?

Not when the lie is very, extremely, obviously a lie. Backing off the lie at that point can no longer be called a "retraction."

Whenever this happens I always find myself wishing there was a way to determine how many people still believe the story even after the retraction is put out. Obviously it is much better to do a retraction, but with the way media reports on things in black and white terms, before they are even investigated, getting things right the first time seems more important now than ever.

There is certainly that. My personal pet peeve is people who continue to consume the conspiracy theories from the same sources that generate them over and over and over again. The person who accepts that Haab was lying is already prepped to believe and spread the next lie. At no point does he ever say, "Whoops, it looks like my news consumption habits could use some tweaking so I don't keep believing conspiracy theories." No, his eyes are still peeled to Cernovich, Fox News and Gateway Pundit, and his finger is ready to hit the "share" button.
