(i'm just checking, am I doing this right? Are we now back to the other half getting upset about people leaking things to new agencies and the other half supporting it again? I"m so confused, the hypocrisy of the partisans gets your head spinning so fast sometimes)

Welcome to the joy of 24/7 news. I'd rather leaks like this not happen, but so long as this cycle exists and they're eager to make use of such things the incentive is there and it will continue to happen as it has for years.

What is sadder still is people not appreciating how serious this is when law enforcement lies to get a FISA warrant, then they use that warrant to spy on a political campaign because they need that "edge" to win.

The left use to be all freaked out about government power and overreach, and the insidious spying on citizens by intelligence agencies. The FISA courts were designed after 911 to find common ground so as to eavesdrop on communications between American in America and terrorists abroad. They set up a process to prevent misuse. But now reports are that there are thousands of FISA warrants applied for and nearly all of them are approved leading one to assume rubber stamping has become the norm here.

Where have all the civil libertarians gone?

Yup; that's why all the leaks in the last 2 years showed up in the NYT, WaPo and at CNN - all liberal/left rags fed by liberals/dems.
Even "republican"(ha ha ha) Comey used the side that leans his way when he admitted to leaking FBI info.
