Will Megyn Kelly beg for her job back at Fox?

You know what they always say: The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Megyn Kelly had it comfortable in the safe confines at Fox for over ten years. She was free to be herself and express her viewpoints.

IMO she got a big head and started to think she was above Foxnews. She probably got bad advice from the hate-trump media and liberal feminists and used her publicity (created by Trump) and got a big deal at NBC.

I think we all know NBC isn't FoxNews. If you notice, all the TV hosts making around her salary are either liberal or non-political - Kelly Ripa, Jimmy Fallon, etc.... Now all those liberal celebrities will boycott her show. Megyn Kelly will struggle even booking C-level celebrities.

The show is an epic disaster. Basically like The Megyn Kelly Files-lite. I am unsure who thought this would be even a good idea. The typical audience for a 9 am audience are soccor moms or wall street folks.

If she stuck to attacking republicans she would probably still be NBC's favorite. But instead she called out that traitor Hanoi Jane in a interview.
 
Jane Fonda had previously discussed her plastic surgery with other leftist hosts. Megan assumed this a acceptable topic of conversation. The difference was these others hosts were not as pretty as Megan Kelley, with her youthful and clear skin. Megan does not need plastic surgery at this time. It may have been easier for Jana to discuss plastic surgery with someone who needed and used it.

The result was an awkward situation of a pretty girl, asking an older famous women, whose rose was past its bloom, details about her experience trying to preserve her dried rose. The left is shallow, which is why this was reacted too in such an irrational way, especially by Hollywood. If Jane Fonda or Hollywood had more depth, Jane would have laughed and just been gracious. But since she is shallow, this created a panic, less Megan starting smearing her make up even more.

Megan is not just talk show host. She was originally a corporate defense attorney, then a political commentator and journalist for FOX. Working on the left, she can't use all her lawyer and journalists skills, since everything is expected to stay shallow; name calling or gossip. Megan seems to wants to go back into the deep water, but she is not allowed past her ankles or else the audience will panic; fear of drowning. She is now splashing the water, trying to swim in ankle deep water.

The money is very good but she is starting to want more; both the money and some deep water swimming. This may not be a good fit for the left wing media, since too much truth and data is not good for gossip. Maybe the compromise will be waist deep water, instead of over the head. For example, there are two teams forming in the Democratic party. Megan might be able to get the discussion to go deeper. This will help the Democratic party reinvent itself to keep up with the changing times.

Her show on Fox was actually very good. She was great in short segments where she could mix tough questions with humor and a back and forth between multiple guests. Lengthy, serious interviews just don't seem to be working for her. She doesn't need to go back to Fox, but she does need to go back to the format that worked so well for her.

Will Bill OReilly, who unlike Megyn cannot get a real job now, beg for his job back? Judge Roy Moore? Danny Hastert?

The answer is probably not. Right wingers have no trouble supporting right wing sex offenders so they do not have to beg for their jobs back

Thank your for starting this topic. I've often thought about Kelly leaving, her break from Fox and why she decided to shake up her career as she's done.
IMO, Kelly was superb on The Kelly Files. Sharp, always forward leaning, insightful, sometimes playful, experienced with a great depth of knowledge from her background.

The moment she broke from the gate at the open of the Republican debate which she co-hosted, and went after Trump with her pointed question about Rosie O'Donnell, I knew she was making her move. For what? I didn't know at the time, but what followed was something I think Kelly was hoping for.

Perhaps she thought Fox was going to go down over the sex scandals. Who knows. But she had set her sights on leaving and orchestrated a means to bring herself broad recognition which launched her across all media platforms as a sort of women's activist/survivor/personality.

I don't think she'll ever be as good at being a talk show host as she was doing surgically-sharp political interviews. I remember watching her show live when she filleted Donna Brazile like a piece of Prime tenderloin, and had her stammering about "Russia!" and being a persecuted Christian woman.

HUH?

That was tv gold.

I don't think Kelly will jar lightning at NBC, and I think her primal urge to flex her intellect will bubble up again and again, as it did with Fonda.

People don't like her. Fox News groomed into their image and now people don;t trust her and don't want to be around her. This just shows what Fox News will do for your career.
 
Once MSNBC gets rid of her the best she can hope for is being the weather girl in Medicine Hat Canada

Not to mention holding Donna Basille's feet to the fire and exposing her lies. I loved her doing that.
Last week I saw her show and it had one really good report, but I guess it was not good enough for me to remember it.
it was good though....trust me.
Mostly fluff after that, though.
