If there’s one thing that could break Trump from his base it will be because he’s been sounding soft on illegals lately, we stand with him through everything without a flinch, but if he agrees to this DACA it might be his only term.

I have no reason to doubt you.

He's a one term president regardless of what he accomplishes.

Trump has never been "no DACA". His base knows this.

He's a one term president regardless of what he accomplishes.

That most of America will not judge him by what he does is one more place America is going to let him down.

Per reports he is at least on the way to figuring that out.

He is too trusting, too optimistic.

Old America is dead.

Well, that was part of Trump's thing. There weren't a l9t of things that he took a hard position on except saying "Merry Christmas." He made vague promises and let everyone paste their own views onto him. That kind of went both ways for him. It's why some of his supporters were hardline white supremacists. They thought he was their guy - still do in many ways.

I pay attention to what he does and says. Should we ignore things he tweets?

Sorry, but everything you just said is nonsense.

But hey...that's to be expected, right?

You shouldn't because the uproar is often hilarious but I have absolutely decided his tweets mean nothing. Once you decide those are unimportant, it makes things much clearer.

I've never seen such a crock post on here.

Yep................white supremacists were lining up around the block just waiting to vote for Trump.

Never seen such a imbecile post from a DP member....................Oh wait...............I have.

Then what are his hard positions? Back it up with quotes.

His position on DACA has always been...Obama's EO was the wrong way...the unconstitutional way...to deal with the issue. Congress should deal with it. He hasn't changed that position a single bit.

I pay no attention to basically anything he does or says

Since I didn’t vote for him, don’t support him, and most of the time he is a buffoon

Yes...ignore him

I can’t believe so many people let his rants and statements get under their skin

Why? What do you accomplish by any of that?

He will be gone in three years....no big deal

Agreed. I think Trump's tweets are a laser pointer for the media and Dems to play cat, and they never let him down.

I think that if the media and Dems were to ignore his tweets for a week, maybe two, I think he'd stop tweeting.

And in this instance Trump is spot on.

Obama's EO was an unconstitutional use of his authority (he admitted such himself and the courts ruled so); granting DACA enrollees legal status requires an act of congress.

I cannot believe there is someone still left insisting that Trump never changes his positions:
 Sighs. Let's do this again.

Immigration:

1. Build a wall, deport all undocumented immigrants.

2. Deport all undocumented immigrants but bring the "good" ones back legally.

3. Build the wall, deport criminals, triple the number of ICE officers, end birthright citizenship.

4. Use a deportation force to implement policy.

5. Trump might be flexible on actually deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants.

6. Deport undocumented immigrants, but don't call it "mass deportations."

7. A deportation force is "TBD."

8. "I'm gonna do the same" as past presidents.

9. I'm open to "softening."

10. "There's no amnesty" but "we work with them."

11. Deport "criminal illegal immigrants" within one hour of being sworn in.

12. What's the plan again?

13. A deportation force is not currently being discussed.

14. The plan — whatever the plan is — has never changed.

15. Deport all undocumented immigrants in due time, using a deportation force.

16. Don't worry, hardliners. There's no amnesty and Mexico will pay!

17. But "there's really quite a bit of softening."

18. I won't rule out a path to citizenship.

19. We'll pay for the wall, Mexico will pay us back, OK?

Current position: Trump says he will deport millions, but he has not ruled out creating a pathway to citizenship. He'll build a wall, pay for said wall, but later he'll get reimbursed by Mexico.

Changes related to DACA:

2016:
“We will immediately terminate” DACA

2017:
1. “We’re working on a plan for DACA”

2. “You have nothing to worry about”

3. “I’d like to see a permanent deal”

4. “Congress, get ready to do your job”

5. “We’re going to show great heart”

6. “They shouldn’t be very worried We're gonna take care of them.”

7. “We’re going to work something out”

Everything Trump Has Said About Deal to Enshrine DACA | Time

2018:

"DACA will fail because of Democrats."

So tell me Mycroft, if he initially wanted the E.O. to just end, why would he complain about it ending?

When did I say "Trump never changes his positions"?

sigh...

Here you go again...spinning and lying.

You KNOW what that gets you, don't you? Yes...that's right...

You are dismissed.

List all the positions you think he's changed, because you usually just blab something about the media twisting his words. Forgive me for not believing you. So I'll wait. Do you admit he's changed his position on DACA? The quotes are right in front of you.

So his position is not to lead?

His position on DACA has always been for Congress to deal with it. He gave them HIS requirements to sign and told them to deal with it.

We will immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties, in which he defied federal law and the constitution to give amnesty to approximately 5 million illegal immigrants.

Hillary Clinton has pledged to keep both of these illegal amnesty programs – including the 2014 amnesty which has been blocked by the Supreme Court. Clinton has also pledged to add a third executive amnesty.

Lol, you're lying.

And guess what...Obama's EO is dead...in March.

Okay...you win...he didn't do it "immediately". He got political. He probably figured the deadline would come in handy. You know...to force things Congress would be reluctant to deal with like the wall, that stupid lottery, chain migration, etc.

Congress...especially the Dems...are pissed at him for that. Too bad.

And guess what...Obama's EO is dead...in March.

He's talking about DACA, two EOs - and he is talking about collectively terminating the EOs, not letting congress sort it out. You are simply lying.
