Name a media outlet from the opposition POV that is trustworthy

If you want to be well rounded, if you want to give yourself the best chance of spotting the BS, read first (in no particular order):

The Week
Politico
Deutsche Wella
Der Spiegel
BBC
Either WP/NYT's/WSJ (actually it is best if you pick one of these each day, change it up).

The Week - Don't know it

Politico - left

Deutsche Welle - Used to be impartial, leans heavy left

Der Spiegel - Used to be actual news reporting only, drifted to ueber-liberal after Merkel showed up, and is now mega progressive
(I've read Der Spiegel for 40 years now; since Trump entered the presidential race, not a single positive article about Trump, although Der Spiegel used to write favourable articles about him before.)

BBC - left

WP/NYT - left

WSJ - left/right (depending on who writes the particular article)

Very useful in getting ones bearings on the truth I say, a great mix.

"Name a media outlet from the opposition POV that is trustworthy"

Nothing in the news media is trustworthy anymore ... at least that's what I believe.
Trustworthy is a relative term as most news media will deliver something factual but with their own (writer's personal opinion) spin and thus giving a distorted view of the actual event.
Recent example: "Melania orders removal of 200-year-old trees"
Fact: Professional tree guys decided trees are "dead" and pose a hazard. Need signature to remove hazardous item. Melania signed request.
Writer's personal opinion: Bash Trump & Co any which way.

Every news media content is "controlled" by the publisher/producer/article writer/anchor.
As I prefer conservative news and CNN and MSNBC do not have a single conservative hour, I tune in to Fox News - but only at certain times.
Fox & Friends for early morning news and conservative spin, Tucker for entertainment on melting snowflakes and latest controversies.
Baier, Sheppy and Cavuto are liberals and present the news according to their leaning.
After Tucker, the opinion of very right/very conservatives show up and my interest is gone ...

If Fox & Friends or Tucker have something of value to say, I check it out on the internet ... skipping articles that start the Trump & Co. bashing in the second sentence.

Trustworthy might be the wrong term in the thread headline; maybe it should be "factual" instead.

As above, if your liberal, or democrat, name a media outlet that you can honestly call "trustworthy".

Republican's and conservatives, please do the same.

If your an independent or libertarian, are there any trust worthy media outlets at all? If so name them.

Why should anyone bother? You'll just say it's "fake news"

trustworthy is a bit misleading when dealing with known partisan outlets. Therefore I will list known partisan outlets I enjoy reading or watching.

Left: MSNBC
Right: Drudge

Those I don't consider Partisan as a whole:

  • CNN
  • Washington Post
  • NPR
  • New York Times

Have I said that yet to anyone? Why do you waste your time replying at all? If you read the thread you'd see my point is, if the left doesn't trust the right and vise versa we'll never get an honest dialog going. I see very clearly when a place like FOX says things that are clearly slanted to protect someone on the right, if those on the left can see when CNN speaks falsely maybe we can talk, if you can't then don't waste your breath, and my time. Foolish response.

What is the point of this exercise?

1) It is widely understood everywhere that Fox News is more about entertainment and is a propaganda machine from hell that leaves it's viewers very misinformed.

2) The only ones that greatly worship the notion of "fake news" are conservatives, most of whom love Fox News and view everything else as "fake."

The rest of the media outlets are far less about propaganda than the Right thinks it is. This is the same sort of self-centered phenomenon that occurs when an adulterer, a thief, or a liar just assumes that everybody else does it too. Errors in reporting and even bias reporting occurs in all outlets. But this does not make it "fake news," nor an outlet for pure political fascination. The fact that Fox News is extremely fond of the term and uses it to legitimize whatever they vomit forth, should be a sign.

*By the way, get the BBC application on your mobile cellular talking machines, set it up so that you can READ the headlines of certain regions (or issues), and avoid the visual commentator trash on television that delivers the news through raised eyebrows, shrugs, eye rolls, and other such innuendos that seem to form the skewed opinions of angry Fox News viewers. For example:

- Fox news Reporter - "Just about all the world's so-called scientists (*eye roll*) declare that there may be something more to the liberal hoax, in which they loooooove to call Global heating or something or rather (*shrug*). What are your thoughts, other Fox News commentator? Well, first Fox News commentator, perhaps.....BUT in other news, Hillary is a Benghazi murderer who studies witchcraft, Obama is a Muslim who wants to burn our Constitution, the Iranian military is sailing a fleet to the Gulf of Mexico, terrorists are crossing the unprotected southern border every single day and probably under your bed right now, Pizza is a vegetable, blah, blah, blah, blah,..."

Oh, that was fun.

Forbes, The Economist, and Washington Post are fairly unbiased.

The Wall Street Journal.

They aren’t trustworthy if they don’t acknowledge their bias.

I like the centrist views of Sean Hannity and Rachael Madow.
Good one. Liberal bias aside, I find Madow to be entertaining. Afaik she does not invent. Hannity is just plain scurrilous.
