Why is there such an insistence that the POTUS be "nice," or act "politically correct." Does anyone really care about that, when you risk breaking an ankle every time you go outside... from tripping over all of the "Now Hiring" signs?

When you take someone out in public, don't you expect a level of decency from that person? Is it really too much we ask of our President to act like that, you know the person who is representing us to the world? That is important to some people.

I personally would be embarrassed to take someone out in public and have them loudly act up. I can see though we have different expectations of how adults are supposed to act.

True. I haven't seen many adults use the word "meanie."

When I was young Nixon ran against Humphrey for president. I asked my dad why he was supporting Nixon.
He asked me 'If you got in trouble in school who would you want to dispense with your punishment Nixon or Humphrey?
That was an easy one Humphrey!
He then asked me 'If your country needed someone to handle an enemy who would you want Nixon or Humphrey?
That was an easy one Nixon!

That's my answer! Nixon was crafty & tough though not nice to be sure. I'd take that type to lead in tough times anyday!

I thought that Bush 43 acted very nice to his political opponents, and look where that got him with the media and their lap dogs.

Invaded two countries.

And this has nothing to do with getting along with democrats.

Obama bombed 5 more countries on top of the 2 you are referring to.

It has a lot to do with why media responses differ.

Childish insults is not the only thing that causes people to react negatively.

Yeah, because that worked out well.

Another cheerleader for the turd on the hill? You don't even attempt to explain how Trump did something that supposedly created new jobs that wouldn't otherwise have been created. Sadly typical....

The economy is following the same trajectory it followed since soon after Obama took office. But then, facts don't matter to a certain contingent....

I suppose I don't need to go into how the "meany" you like is an international embarrassment. His supporters think that's a plus.

Nice, support one of the most vicious war criminals of all time. And, seemingly, be proud of it.

I think you are confusing "acting up in public" with "playing for the cameras". It seems to me that if Trump is getting under someone's skin, it's on purpose.

Right, I guess Obama was just letting the economy coast under 3% GDP for 8 years, on purpose. And, I suppose the (literally) hundreds of regulations on businesses and industry that have been rolled back or done away with (not to mention tax reform) under Trump had absolutely NOTHING to with it, huh?

Do you remember the first televised debate between Nixon and Kennedy?

That was not a flattering view of old Dick right there.

Ohhh, I see - and if said person doesn't exhibit this superficial politeness, then you'll immediately seek their impeachment? This offence qualifies as "high crimes and misdemeanors"? Are you kidding me? We now see Democrats coming forth with impeachment proceedings every month, for goodness' sakes. That's a ridiculous misapplication of impeachment - a total labuse of the system.

The questioned asked was "If Nice Guys Finish Last, Why Not Elect a Big Meanie?' and I answered it!

Comical, would you mind elaborating on why you actually harbor the notion that Nixon is one of the most vicious war criminals of all time.

Richard Nixon is hardly a role model, overall; he was a devious president who encouraged illegal actions by his subordinates.
But he was a clever strategist — never more so than in the opening to China that culminated in his February 1972 visit to Beijing.
Yet even Nixon, the practiced hypocrite, might not dare to buck conformity today.

More importantly or as important, the benefits of Nixon's détente policies to previous cold war strategies are obvious no need to elaborate.

American domestic realities are proving to be a major restraint on the U.S. pursuing the kind of robust, proactive foreign policy needed to contain
two major near-peer and/or outright peer competitors Russia & Chuna. The only way to do so is to employ the type of creative diplomacy
that has not been seen in Washington D.C. since Richard Nixon left the White House.

I wasn't expecting a serious response, and thank you for not failing to surprise.

I have never broken an egg while taking a dump.

All these insults and shaming tsctics are tripe responses because your snowflake ego cant handle the fact that your opinion lost out to mine in the last election. Trump won and all the pouting and tantrum throwing on the world is not going to change that.

Lol...and that ended really well. Didn't it?

First, Nice guys don't finish last. That's just a dumb myth that losers tell themselves to deflect their own failures. There is absolutely nothing that prevents a person from being nice, and succeeding.

Second, the president is a roll model. One asshole can sadly take advantage of other people's kindness from time to time, and get away with things he shouldn't, but if we teach children that being an asshole is the best way to succeed you get a country brimming with even more assholes, nobody gets an advantage, and we end up living in a disgusting society.
