Not really.
The moment Democrats retake power, suddenly the GOP will go back into "Oh my GOD the DEFICIT!!! It's ALL YOUR fault!!" mode again.
Because this is the Republican formula:

1. Pass massive tax cuts for the top 1 percent.
2. Run up the deficit.
3. A year or two later go, “Oh my God, look at the deficit! This proves that spending is just out of control!”
(especially if Democrats retake the majority and, God forbid, the White House)
4. Start taking the axe to entitlement programs and the domestic discretionary budget.

And so Democrats may well retake power in 2018*, and possibly even in 2020* inheriting a mess from Trump and the GOPsters.
A deficit.
Maybe a tanked economy.
Maybe even another globally catastrophic economic meltdown.**
(**This one is KEY because during such meltdowns, they are able to vacuum up bankrupted assets at fire sale prices.)
Maybe a war, or two, or even three, at a few trillion dollars each, and NOBODY WILL DARE to question spending for that, even if we attack the wrong people,
or botch the aftermath so spectacularly that we get dragged into another endless quagmire.
And it will be the Democrats job to try and fix it again.
And they will try like Hell.
But only to a point. ***
(***Because deep down most of today's Democrats lack even the semblance of a spine)
The Republicans will then obstruct and try to prevent the Democrats from actually fixing any problems, because Republicans will know deep down that public investment and restored revenue would fix the economy, but they’ll scream bloody murder because… it increases the deficit!
They will again target the social safety net, whatever is even left of it at that point.
God help them if they manage to take it all this year, because they won't have any programs for the poor left to target if they do.
And they will have world record amnesia about how all their profligate giveaways ramped up the deficit in the first place.
They will outright lie about it, just as they always have.
They will continue to engineer things so that the recovery is tepid, so they can get the Democrats out and cut taxes for the rich one more time and balloon the deficit and start the whole process again.

(*provided liberals - millennials in particular, actually get up off their asses and vote for Democrats in sufficient numbers)

That is propaganda 1.0. The media has assumed for years that if you chant something, over and over, the mindless mob will join in and sing the chorus. Trump has undermined that formula by not playing ball. Nevertheless the media still keeps trying, since their base likes to sing chorus.

If you think of this logically, you are saying that 2/3 of US citizens don't want a tax break, so they can have more money in their pockets. That does not make any sense. However, it sounded musically appealing, and that alone was sufficient to get the chorus on board.

The propaganda trick is similar to listening to a catchy song in a foreign language. Even though you may not be able to understand the lyrics, the human voice sounds like an interesting musical instrument, that adds to the catchy sound. One likes the beat, the tone, the rhythm and the metering, even though the meaning behind the words is out of reach. With the foot tapping and keeping beat, the chorus will use the sound to project their own meaning into the foreign song.

Funny enough, those polls prove that the people being polled are wholly uninformed about what the bill actually does... that ignorance is due in large part to the disinformation campaign in the news media.

Democracy doesn't die in darkness; it dies in the full light of day whittled away a little at a time by a government who encroaches slowly but methodically with the goal of regulating us into the behaviors and beliefs they deem appropriate and useful.
 
The News has degenerated from the old time fact gathering of the reporters of old, into a National Enquirer gossip type news. Instead of discussing the details of the tax plan, we are told about sexual liaisons and what he said and she said. Back in the old days, this distinction in news was the information line between male and female. The men cared more about the cold facts, like baseball scores and statistics, while women were more about human relationships and gossip; soap opera.

The change in the news is catering to feminization and the Democrat base, since it deals more with emotions and gossip, than with logic and intellect. Next time you watch the news, monitor yourself to see if it induces feelings. You might hear the feelings in the news anchors voice. Logic and facts, like with Mr Spock, do not deal with emotions, but attempt to let the facts organize themselves.

Didn't the Democrats attempt to condition everyone, over the past several decades, to think in terms of feelings? PC is all about buzz words and feelings before common sense. Gossip news caters to feelings. The fake news template works similar to the husband; news, answering that age old question from his wife, "do I look fat in this dress?"

She; Democratic base, feels insecure about the election and the future, and wants reassurance to make her feel better. She is not interested in the facts, if these facts will make her feel insecure. The husband knows what he is expected to say' " you look beautiful in that dress." He is not allowed to say, you could lose some weight and look better, even if this is true. It is about optimizing moods and feelings.

For example, Trump won the election. The husband is not allowed to say this, as a matter of fact. Rather the husband has to say, don't worry dear, Trump cheated and collude, therefore, there is still hope this can be made right; you look skinny in that dress. Interestingly, Conservative women do not buy into this, the same way as Progressive women. The Conservative women are old fashion and let the husband lead. This os symbolic of let logic come first, instead of gossip; proof before accusation; gossip, instead of accusation; gossip, before proof.

The programing of the citizens to cater to emotional behavior, is where Democracy ends. There are only a limited number of emotions compared to endless numbers of thoughts. Emotional behavior induces herd mentality, whereas thoughts induce individuality and Democracy; free speech. One is no longer allowed to think and speak freely to the truth, especially if it sours feelings. Rather one is required to cater to good feelings, even if you need to lie. This change is based on short term thinking. The media is allowed to lie. AS long as it makes the wife feel better, in the short term, she will not complain.

This is not a good long term strategy, since it does not address the underlying logic behind her insecurities, so she can make the needed adjustment and overcome. Instead of the needed operation to get rid of the cancer, catering to feelings is like a local anesthetic and bandage to temporarily mask the pain. It does not treat the cancer. But as long as the bandage is changed each day, some people feel better. The bandage has been changed for a year, and now is the time for the operation.

The Trump tax plan being a disaster for the middle class is another way to say you look skinny in that dress. The real fear is if the plan is successful, and the economy becomes booming, the Democrat party will in trouble. It is better to say you look skinny in that dress, than deal with an operation where major change needs to occur in the Democrat party; back to Kennedy Democrats.

I asked you for a country for the USA to emulate and you continue with your ranting.

Russia and China have been too busy killing their own for centuries, and I believe the the Soviet's sucked in a few countries.
