    Why?

Russia meddling in our national elections is a threat to democracy, pure and simple, and must be stopped. One must ask why the winner of the last election is so adamantly opposed to the FBI doing their job.
I think it'd be fair to say he'd like the FBI to investigate Russian influence where we know it occurred.
So far, the evidence we know about points one way.

I think we ought to let Mueller conclude his investigation prior to either condemning Trump or saying the investigation is a coup attempt. It seems to me the Democrats have been trying to destroy Trump since the day after the election. Granted, Trump is doing his best to help them. I don't trust the Democrats and I don't trust the White House, Trump in particular. Mueller I do trust.

I will be the first to admit that this nation would be far better off under a President Pence. The Republican Party would be better off in the near term future under a President Pence. Whether or not the pro-Trumpers and Republicans realize it, Trump is galvanizing independents against him and the Republicans in congress. Thus making 2018 looking like a banner year for the democrats. At least at this point in time. I don't know that whether Trump is guilty of anything or not. No one else does either. But their partisan leanings decides that for them.

What Trump is guilty of in my opinion is being an obnoxious, egotistical, uncouth oaf who doesn't know how to act presidential. It didn't take long for me to tire of his name calling, temper tantrums of a five year old via twitter. His persona sucks. But having a sucking persona is not an impeachable offense. Let's just wait on Mueller.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

So this Steve Schmidt is now a favorite of the Trump opposition. You call him a republican strategist, if he were that I doubt
he'd be an MSNBC commentator. The guy is constantly on with Maddow, O'Donnell & the newest to be reported sexual harasser
Matthews for one reason to bash Republicans. And you post he's a 'smart man' who didn't even graduate from college.

Schmidt headed the John McCain effort in 2008 & he wasn't very brilliant in that capacity as McCain had the lowest
electoral count of any republican candidate who never became president in 54, yes 54 years. As chief campaign strategist
he joined up with another MSNBC anchor Nicole Wallace in that disastrous campaign. MSNBC seems to be the requiem for
formerly failed republican mouthpieces and strategists. Smith & Wallace were heavy into the failed Bush & McCain decade,
& when the republicans finally found a winning candidate who thoroughly toyed with Jeb Bush in the primary & made his opinions
of McCain well known in a rather obnoxious not politically correct way these losers become incensed with Trump for dissing their
former employers. What else would you expect. Look don't refer to the likes of Schmidt or Wallace as republicans
anymore & you can add Anna Navarro of CNN to that list of so-called
Republicans who because Trump's heavy beat down of her preferred candidates 'Low Energy Jeb"
& 'Little Marco' has with her absolute scorn for Trump commentated like she is seeking the title of ' The worlds most hysterical women'
    on Cable.

Just Say 'Yes' to Prosperity, Trump seems to be doing just fine! I'm sure Schmidt's commentary bothers Trump
about as much as an annoying fly bothers an elephant.

FOX NEWS is going crazy ivan on the conspiracy theories. When cheeseburgers are more important than 3 Federal Grand Jury indictments and 1 guilty plea it's fairly clear what they're up too.

Fox News employees were so embarrassed about the cheeseburger news, they threatened to quit.

FOX News is appealing to a group of low brained individuals. They have been losing viewership in wagon trains. MSNBC & CNN now number 1 & 2 in cable news are taking in former disaffected FOX News watchers. FOX is in a full blown panic over Trump (especially after Flynn pled guilty and is working with Mueller.) They went into hyper spin.

They have a yuuuuuge investment in Trump. During the primaries FOX News turned into the Trump media network, while ignoring all 16 other GOP candidates. They OWN Trump, and they know it. When he goes down, they go down with him. They're going to do everything they can to protect him, concoct conspiracies surrounding Robert Mueller, or just not report the news, rather deflect it.
In Trump era, Rachel Maddow starts beating Fox News - Apr. 24, 2017
Rachel Maddow crushes Fox News in August; CNN gaining fast ? Conservative Firing Line

The overarching message from "Fox & Friends" and "Hannity" is unmistakable: Mr. President, you're the victim of a "deep state" plot to take you down. Don't let it happen.

Sean Hannity, the highest-rated host on Fox, has renewed his calls for Mueller to resign. And Fox's other pro-Trump shows reinforce this message on a daily basis.

In recent weeks, there's been a big increase in reporting about Mueller's probe and how it could affect Trump's inner circle. At the same time, there's also been a sharp escalation in the anti-Mueller rhetoric coming from right wing media sources.

With four of Trump's associates now charged by Mueller's team, and congressional probes also proceeding in many different directions, other channels are filled with the latest twists and turns about the intensifying investigations.

Later that evening, Hannity's opinion was that Mueller is the "head of the snake." He called the special counsel a "disgrace to the American justice system" and asserted that the country is "now on the brink of becoming a banana republic."

Fox News is arguably the most powerful conservative media megaphone, but it is far from the only outlet questioning the credibility of Mueller, a registered Republican who is widely respected by legal experts.

The Wall Street Journal and The New York Post -- outlets that are, like Fox, owned by Rupert Murdoch -- have also repeatedly published opinion pieces with sharp criticism of Mueller.

The repetition is really something to behold -- not just by hosts but by guests who back up the anti-Mueller arguments. "There needs to be an investigation of the investigation," Mike Huckabee, father of White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, said on "Fox & Friends" on Monday.

We can expect this to continue. But one would think that when you're constantly crying wolf like FOX News is doing, that even they're most ardent watchers would start to lose faith in this network and move on to other news.

Partisan politics often results in seeing the truth, knowing the truth, while still defending and supporting the lies.
