On Twitter this morning Trump tried to debunk the NYT story, which I posted here: https://www.debatepolitics.com/bias-in-the-media/303714-trump-watches-8-hours-tv-day.html at around the same time his home city of NY was attacked by a would-be terrorist.

Yet he goes off on the NYT without even saying how much time he DOES watch TV. We all know he at least watches the Foxandfriends block on Fox News which is three hours long.

Here is the tweet. No media stories about it yet:
Another false story, this time in the Failing @nytimes, that I watch 4-8 hours of television a day - Wrong! Also, I seldom, if ever, watch CNN or MSNBC, both of which I consider Fake News. I never watch Don Lemon, who I once called the “dumbest man on television!” Bad Reporting.

He has called into various MSNBC and CNN shows during the 2016 primaries.

I think you're reaching to criticize Trump here. I'm not sure there is any necessary presidential response to the terror attack this morning. And that there wasn't one yet, doesn't mean there won't be.

And he did dispute how much time he watches TV. He said their story was wrong.

As far as the many, many legitimate things about which to criticize Trump go, I struggle to see this being one of them.

Calling in to CNN/MSNBC....DURING THE PRIMARIES.../= watching them as president. JFC. You're having a full blown meltdown.

No he didn't he just said they were wrong, and coming from a liar that doesn't amount to much.

Saying they were wrong is disputing their account. Much less persuasive than a detailed log of his television watching, but absolutely is disputing it.

But what do you expect him to do? If he had given a number, would you have found that any more credible?

I just think this is the type of criticism that is pretty unmerited, and if it has any effect only entrenches Trump support.

I am not the one typing in all caps.
It's for emphasis. Do you or do you not understand the difference between marketing oneself during a primary and taking on the responsibilities as president? Actually, given your obtuseness now and in your OP, you don't have to answer. It's clear that you don't.

OMG....BFD!!! Who the **** cares how much TV he watches?

Saying they were wrong is disputing their account.

He said they were wrong, but doesn't counter. This leaves people to question him. He shouldn't have said anything if he really didn't care like he claimed.

And that wouldn't have led to "Oh he didn't even challenge it so it's definitely true,"?

Seems like this only distracts from all the legitimate Trump criticism to have come out over the last couple weeks.

Yup designed that way by the troll master himself! Notice he hasn't been talking about ANY of those issues, and if he did tell us how much he watched TV, what's wrong with saying the story is true? He wants the press to be wrong so bad that he makes up lies about them.

Then don't help him out by talking about this non-story, and instead focus on that legitimate criticism.

I think the whole process needs to play out. If he gets impeached, people on both sides need to agree or legitimacy of it will be seriously undermined. The small stuff, like his tweets or what or how much TV he watches actually distracts from the more important things. He has to have enough rope to hang himself.

I did by saying he should be focusing on the terrorist attack.

See, I don't think that's a legitimate criticism either. What exactly is he supposed to have said about it already?

Another day - another thread where GOP is hyperventilating over every tiny thing about Trump. Do you ever think about other things? It seems like you're absolutely obsessed with him.

Preferably. "We are looking into the situation in NYC. Hearts and Prayers go out to all those affected." Or something similar. At the very least he could have waited to bash the media.

My governor's statement was much better than Trump's. Agree or no?

How does that have anything to do with you having a hard-on everyday for Trump? Tell us -- did he sneeze today? Did he get up during the night to pee? Did he watch 1 more minute of TV than he did yesterday? How are his bowel movements? Did his tie fly over to the side showing a piece of tape again? Please tell us all of the breaking news, GOP!

*Sighs* I'm just pointing out all the stupid stuff he does everyday. Sorry that bothers you.

Yes, I know that's what you're doing. And that, in and of itself, is stupid and shows that you literally cannot stop thinking about him.

It's only stupid to people who don't like it being pointed out.

You're right. And those are people who aren't hyper-obsessed with everything Trump and hyperventilate over every movement he makes.

Just wait a while. Trump will sign off on some canned remarks before using this latest attempt to justify his travel ban.

If one's going to be so obsessed by how much TV a President watches rather than doing his job, there were the frequent incidences (at least 8) of the previous President saying he found out about embarrassing and scandalous things going on in his administration by watching the news -- including the NSA spying on European officials, the conditions at the VA, Fast & Furious, the IRS targeting conservative groups, that Hillary was using an e-mail server in her home . . . and more.

7 Other Times President Obama Said He Found Out About World Events By Watching the News

This is extremely small potatoes to be worried about when there are much bigger fish to fry.
