Gorka joins FOX

I rarely watch cable news at all. I watch FOX for breaking on the ground news. Otherwise, I get information from links posted here and often research behind them.

You failed to answer my question.... you called me out, its your turn. Your favorite liberal commentators, editorialists are????

I do think Fox has lost its way. It is a far cry in journalistic integrity and credibility from where it was just a few years ago. I did not like Fox a few years ago, but at least their approach was reasonably intelligent. Now its train wreck (as a rule) They are almost trying to make the news, at this point.

They have replaced the Bill Krystols, and other credible commentators, with the likes of a Sebastian Gorka, who is even downgrade from Sarah Palin. Gorka should not be listened to by thinking individuals. He is walking political porn.

I like Wally and the Shepard on Fox.

Not really responsive to your post, but I don’t watch much cable news because the greater majority on all the cable news networks focuses on infotainment. I don’t like seeing a round table, as an example, telling me what they think. Even if their opinions represent both liberal and conservative views. I consider most of it to be propaganda from one side or another.

I want hard news... the way news used to be... programs that don’t try to shape my opinion to their own. Hard news. Don’t dissect it. Just report it. Fluff designed to advance an agenda rather than reporting facts. We have lost the real intent of news reporting.

Then why did Trump fire him? But if Trump did, that does the opposite of boosting Gorka's value.

FAUX CAN DO BETTER.

Because Trump put The Generals in charge of the WH, and they were not having this guy.

The Story I heard is the Gen Kelly did not even inform Trump till after the canning.

I don’t listen to cable news. It’s not news, it’s infotainment. I have no answer for you because I get most of my news from the major networks at ten o’clock Chicago time. They aren’t trying desperately to fill programming 24/7 by creating mountains out of molehills, trying to shape my thinking, presenting their own slants and opinions and calling it news. It isn’t. I have no favorite commentators. I responded to you, if I remember correctly, because you indicated FOX News was all bad. I don’t even watch it.

There should be no such thing as a liberal or conservative newscaster. News is news. I’ll shape my opinion around the news. Not what a liberal or conservative commentator tells me. Is that so foreign these days?

Editorial.... writers, columnists.....There are media resources that are not on TV.

I think you are ducking the question or giving me a Sarah Palin type answer / non-answer ("I read all of them").

I don't accept this purity of objectivity you are trying to suggest (I am calling BS).... 1) no one is that pure and 2) dealing only with objectivity and facts, I will argue, is not the way to come to intelligent conclusions. Leaders don't just synthesis facts because they don't know enough about the underlying circumstances of those facts.... they listen to experts and hear opinions and then render their OWN informed decisions. The more varied the input, the more likely to have an intelligent conclusion. The fact you are here on DP tells us that you like opinions, so cut the BS....

I am hearing you don't listen or respect any news analyst with a liberal bent, which I find rather sad.

I am absolutely not ducking the question. Perhaps you gather your news via cable infotainment. I respect that. But it’s hardly unbiased reporting. Most everything on cable news is not unbiased reporting. If you listen to liberal commentators or conservative commentators, you aren’t listening to news. You’re listening to infotainment which I’d also describe as propaganda.

when I sense a so-called news report on cable, I’m seeing it through the eyes of conservative and liberal positions. I don’t need anyone to chew my food. Just put it on a plate, and I’ll chew it myself.

All of us are being manipulated by these so-called cable news networks who are anything but.

Just saw your edit. I will just repeat. I don’t listen to infotainment which, in my opinion, is every cable news network out there.

LOOK, Trump likes this guy, that means something.
It means that Trump likes the guy.
Which prob'ly means that Trump thinks this the guy will be helpful to Trump somehow.

What else do you think it means?

That this guy understands how Trump thinks, which makes him useful to FoxNews and The Rebellion.

"The Rebellion" is made up of the guys currently in power.
That's rather odd for rebellions.

just sayin

You are really obsessed about cable news here. While you are talking about cable news networks, I am not. Most that write columns do so in newspapers, magazines, online news sites, etc. Again, can you name an analyst with a liberal bent that you find compelling or informative.... I don't think you can name one....

George Will, David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, Paul Gigot, Thomas Sowell, Charley Sykes, Charles Krauthammer, Bill Krystol, Hugh Hewitt and even Pat Buchanan are each reasoned, thoughtful intelligent individuals that explain their positions and don't demagogue or otherwise demean those that do not agree with them. I can read and listen to each.

Firing Line was a great show.

...and your list of good liberal journalists include....?

You mention Charles Krauthammer. I've always liked him for the same reasons that you've highlighted.

I've not seen him recently on any media outlet. I wonder if his health is OK. Anyone know anything? Just wondering.

Why are you arguing with me? I don’t listen to or read opinion. Unlike way too many others, I prefer facts so I can draw my own conclusions. I can’t name a liberal or conservative infotainment presenter because I don’t watch cable news and don’t read editorials. You enjoy doing that? Fine! I don’t.

I keep repeating myself and you keep coming back. Can’t imagine why...

Is there another conservative news show you DO approve of? Or do you just disagree with all of them because they espouse conservative views?

Even if I was a tinfoil hat wearing, doomsday, demagogue.
They would most likely believe me, or at the very least find me credible.

So long as I suckled from the same sycophantic teat that they do.

An open Nazi joins Fox. Why am I not surprised?

Alright, citation please.

You claim he is an open Nazi, and I would really like to see the evidence for this.

How about because they're completely full of ****? Have you watched Sean Hannity lately? It's unbelievable how much that guy just lies his ass off.

Fox News doesn't espouse "conservative views," they sit there and blatantly lie to their gullible audience. It's trash.

For the record, MSNBC and CNN are not much better.

WOW REALLY??.....Great move but I am more than slightly surprised that the kids are this smart, this gives them credibility when they claim that they want to tell the whole story, that they are not in fact ANTI-REBELLION.

If you're hitching your wagon to Gorka, you're way further down the rabbit hole than I care to venture.

There is no "rebellion," except against sanity by the likes of Trump slurpers.

There is absolutely nothing reasoned or thoughtful about Pat Buchanan, whose rhetoric loses a little luster when it's translated from the original german.

Statements of support for Gorka, which have challenged the description of him as an anti-semite all predated a 2017 story that connected him with another extreme far-right anti-Semitic group. In a 2007 video, Gorka declared his support for the Magyar Gárda (Hungarian Guard), a paramilitary group described by various sources as neo-fascist and anti-Semitic.[94] Gorka said that "If we look at the Swiss or Israeli example, when it is about a country, that is small and doesn't have a massive military, then a system can be based on a territorial defense ... In America, the state supports them, giving old arms ... After the disturbances of Hungary, last Year, a need has risen, ... " to supplement the official military "because the country’s military is sick, and totally reflects the state of Hungarian society... This country cannot defend itself.” He also added, that “We support the establishment of the Hungarian Guard despite the personalities involved.”
