Antifa Group Plans Nationwide 'Deface Columbus Day' Actions for Monday

Any attempts to justify the Unthinking Left's hypocrisy is almost as pathetic as starting a sentence with, "As John Oliver pointed out..."

He pointed out a thing that is factually accurate. Oddly, you choose to dodge that fact. Why are you dodging that fact?

oddly, he didn't. and even odder is that I didn't.

Don't know what reality you've chosen for yourself today, but it don't jive with the reality the rest of share.

Oddly, I don't need to ask why, I already know.

You really believe those statues of Confederate generals were put up in the 1800s, don't you? You think people kept flying the Confederate flags after the war?

Re: Antifa

Except you seem to think that everyone standing up to Nazis is Communists. It makes a heck of a lot more sense to assume those opposed to anti-fascists are themselves facists, then to assume anyone opposed to Nazi's are some how automatically communists.

Not at all. The folks who stand up to nazis and communists aren't communists, nor nazis.

The people who defend antifa communists are at the least, communists sympathizers. Is there a difference between nazis and nazi sympathizers? No, right? Hence there's no difference between communists and communist sympathizers.

Do you denounce antifa for the scumbags that they are?

Defend yourself, or defend a carved chunk of rock that you dont own, on property that isnt yours?

Defend myself when the antifa scum decide they want to target the homes and families of their political opponents.

You may be "laffin' your ass off" but others are standing around and wondering why. I supported keeping Columbus statues with added plaques providing a bit of history for passersby - so where's the "Left's hypocrisy"?

I provided a quote from the most memorialised Confederate leader; a quote which explained why he saw any monuments and statues as doing little but aggravating the tension and bad memories of the war he had lost.

Exactly what, did John Oliver get wrong?

Looks like I was right when I assumed you had failed Jr High American History.

Oh, sorry, I seem to have been reading of threats against those who protested the fascists and white supremacists.

Antifa Group Plans Nationwide 'Deface Columbus Day' Actions for Monday

"Hate will not be tolerated" Oh the irony.. which is clearly lost on them.

There is, surely, a case for America, North and South, to be de-discovered. And all except full-blood native Americans to be deported, taking about every statue (except for those carved on totem poles) with them. Think about this for a while and you will see that this modest proposal would solve a multitude of problems

It looks like there are problems with violence on both sides PLUS the ever so small fact that not all on the left accept the violence advocated by Antifa

Police, and in some cases other counter-protesters, stepped in to halt the violence or escort the victims away from the area

leaving many to question Antifa’s role in the leftist protest movement and to ask if the group is causing more harm than good.

“That’s the big debate,” Pamela Oliver, a sociology professor at the University of Wisconsin who studies collective action and social movements, told Fox News. “Most people think that non-violence is the way to go and that violent, aggressive responses could backfire, that is play into the hands of white supremacists by using violence.”

FBI, Homeland Security warn of more ‘antifa’ attacks - POLITICO
Tensions have gotten so heated that after activists traded accusations after Charlottesville, a rumor circulated online that antifa would try and shut down the massive Sturgis, South Dakota, motorcycle rally because there were too many Confederate flags and Trump signs. It wasn’t true, but it prompted an outpouring of pleas by attendees for anti-fascists to come so they could assault them.

So, does that mean you denounce antifa as ****bags and agree that they're no different than the nazi scumbags.

Yes, I am against those who advocate or promote violence for any reasons other than self-defense.

So am I. Hence, the existance of violent political activist/para-military units is why, in part at least, that we have the 2nd Amendment and illustrates it's importance.

Awe, look honey, he's building a straw man....

You're objecting to a very specific point being made, but now are pretending to not even know what that argument is. Cute.

The only conclusion at this point is you really did stop reading at "as Oliver pointed out" and therefore actually have no freaking clue what I'm talking about.

Yeah, no kidding that's why they're called the UNTHINKING Left...

Oh me oh my, you really think it's all about you, don't you?

You've provided an irrelevancy and an imbecile.

If you're asking there is no reason to tell...

No, you mos def ain't right....and you've only made an ass of u and med...

Always appreciated when opponents provide the evidence that they really don't have a ****ing clue.

Wha?

I'm pretty sure YOU don't have any freaking clue what you're talking about...

What argument? There isn't one. You can't possibly have one. It's ridiculous...

You've got losers crying about statues of losers all the while wanting to shame the winners -- calls for defacing and replacing the monuments erected and day set aside -- to do what, exactly? celebrate the losers.

You can't make this silly **** up if you tried...

:lamo

Personally I would keep the Columbus statues, with new plaques telling the ignorant a little bit about what he did during his voyages to the Caribbean - you know Columbus never managed to land on the shores of what today is known as the United States of America, don't you?

Columbus Day is a celebration of the impact his discovery had on Western Civilization not so much the discovery in isolation. It ushered in an age of discovery and radically changed the way Western societies geographically understood the world. I find those who promote the replacement of this holiday with Indigenous Peoples Day typically predicate their argument on a “noble savage” fallacy.

What did Columbus win, exactly? World's Worst Navigator? :lamo

Dude thought he'd found India. Despite the size of the earth being known to a percent or two since the Greeks, Columbus somehow got the size of the planet wrong by several thousand miles.

So this thread can be filed under "Antifa doesn't even exist" I presume?

Always appreciated when opponents provide the evidence that they really don't have a ****ing clue.

I prefer you’d put up at least a feeble attempt at defending yourself.

Wouldn’t make a difference but at least I wouldn’t have completely wasted my time.
