Not one member of the WH Staff or the Republican Congress has come to the Trump administration's defense.

"To give you a sense of how reluctant Republicans are to talk about President Trump this week, not one member of the current Republican leadership in Congress agreed to come on the broadcast this morning," Chuck Todd, host of NBC's "Meet the Press," said.

This white house better get their act together quickly, otherwise they are setting another dangerous precedent.

I think it was a good move....the new Afghanistan policy should be huge and this will drive some interest in that like a bang after a pause.....and really what is there to say till the rejiggering of the WH moves along some. Bannon needs to be replaced, a new course and plan must be decided upon and then put into play.

I'd stop sending people to those shows too.

They are nothing but ambushes waiting to happen.

I see the new Chief of Staff John Kelly behind this. I'd recommend the same strategy, namely no more talk shows until we have some victories under our belt.

If trump is suggesting using mercenaries in Afghanistan, that would be hugely unpopular.

Given the choice between D.C. Consultants and blackwater mercs, I would put my trust in d.c. Consultants.

The ones who clearly had no idea where the nation was last election, and have barely learned a damn thing since.

Because they dont want to, dont think they have to, because the people are going to start doing as we are told God Damnit.

I take it you side with the mercenaries.

My wife did three tours including an 18 month, plus I tended to follow the bloggers and there were several very good ones... I have a fair idea what Iraq was.

You will note that Iraq is one of my leading arguments in my very long indictment of America, which goes mostly at the feet of the Elite Class on duty at the time, most of them being still here ****ing up this country for financial and political profit, because what fun is it to drive the masses to UTOPIA if you are poor?

I am slightly bitter.

Did I make my complaint about the Iraq war as a whole? No. I respect the fact you served your country.

My complaint was about blackwater.

That would be in spite of the DC Consultant Class being well known mercenaries.

And in spite of the fact that Eric Prince is the brother of Sec. DeVos and his guys are accused of murdering Iraqi civillians?

Washington is an owned town, and lots of very bad things were done by us in Iraq, so I struggle to see your point.

Swamp things exist, even under 45.

The Mainstream Media...including Todd, as we see in your quote...don't need WH staff or GOP Elites. They are content to make **** up without them. In any case, Trump doesn't need THEM, either. He gets his message out well enough without them.

I guess the Mainstream Media will have to get used to themselves and their talking potato heads conducting their usual circle jerks.

The M$M's have become pretty bad when twitter becomes the preferred information outlet.

I am on the side of Truth and Justice, because that's the way we were back when we were better.

Problem is , we haven't been "better" as you put it, for at least a few generations.

Chuck Todd is a little to full of himself, as is much of the media.

White House and Republicans declining to submit to the media's false narratives isn't setting a "dangerous precedent" nor is it necessarily a bad strategy. It was pretty clear that President Obama and his administration had no time for FOX, particularly in his first term, and that didn't harm him one bit. This won't harm Trump either. Making policy announcements, such as the one on Afghanistan and South Asia today, and getting a legislative agenda moving are what will matter to most Americans, particularly those who vote.
