To me this isn't so egregious since folks at home and on the hill have done so privately. CNN is just reporting what they are saying in private. That's called transparency. We need more of that from every politician.

We do need some anti-troll provisions for sure.

I think taxes should be required to disclose.
I think conflicts of interest should be well spelled out...I recall Trump claiming early on that "The president by definition cannot have a conflict of interest".
To make it far in a presidential campaign, you have to pass a basic security check, sufficient to get you access to classified information.
Maybe even pass a basic competency and psych eval. These would be highly contested if not done before the race gets ramped up, and even then it would like never fly.

What else? I think Trump's blundering around in the White House will give political analysts and legal types a lot of data to think about in terms of how to improve our system.

Just another ploy by people who did not like the election results to try and de-legitimize the new president. Russia did not work for your team, now we are to nazi lover or nutjob.

Not a fan of Trump but HATE the idea of a political/media coup. Republicans tried it with Obama and the birther nuttiness, now democrats feel they have to retaliate.

You should ask yourself where does this end.

It will end when the Democrats recover the WH and Congress and all state governments, which could be a long time coming.

I won't comment on the OP, because I think that guy talked to Haymarket.

BUT! I will comment on yours.

  • I think Congress should have LONG AGO introduced an amendment to the constitution or law, whatever it takes, to make that mandatory. And specify the number of years.
  • I think there should be a special office to thoroughly vet every primary candidate as to conflicts of interest. Something like the GAO.
  • I think every presidential primary candidate ought to have to pass MORE than a basic security check. A very thorough one.
  • I disagree with your last proposal.

But all in all, for the most part, I agree or think we should even go further.

Yes, unless you do not support the Constitution. It should matter to all citizens what people with opposing views believe and why. Democracy by definition is compromise. Compromise by definition is giving up some things you want and accepting things you don't want.

To be honest I no longer believe we have a democracy. The vast majority of Americans are in no way involved in their own governance. Most Americans do nothing for their nation, nothing. Most Americans do not even vote. Of those who do vote many are by choice uninformed.

This point was discussed before the election, if you want to remember. That CNN would choose to reward it has more to do with the quality of their news concerning Trump than with any news value in the reporting.

Please show me where the constitution provides for a mental health examination via legislation, for a sitting president.

Fyi, we're not a democracy, never have been.

This is the same guy who bragged about grabbing them by the ***** and the same guy who attacked his primary opponents and their wives.

The guy is a bloated carcass who represents the Republican Party.

The Alt Right consists of those are antidemocracy, are supportive of a white ethno-state, are uber nationalist and ethnocentric and racialistic.

If this is how you feel, be proud of who you are.
