Sounds like this guy got his life together, after an indoctrination into the world of FOX. The anger that a typical FOX News junkie emanates, can destroy a reputation, and subsequently, years of their lives.

I know this all sounds like a joke 10 years later, and in some ways it is because I was so far to the right, but it’s a serious matter. Fox News didn’t necessarily make me uninformed, but it made me informed about a political, social and economic reality that borderlined on fan fiction. I was fortunate in that I eventually liberated myself from my red, white and blue ideological shackles — but what about those who didn’t? What about the baby boomers whom Fox News turned into conservative curmudgeons who continue to breathe life into outdated, sexist, racist notions? What about the generation of Americans Fox News turned into this.

And while younger Americans seem to (rightly) deride Fox News as the illegitimate, conservative mouthpiece it is, that doesn’t necessarily mean the millennial generation doesn’t have an equivalent. Blind loyalty to one source of news is always a threat.

Anyone capable of critical thinking and rational thought understands that almost every single MSM channel is super biased :lamo.

I enjoyed reading this. A better title would have been "Confessions of a High-Schooler Who's Still Working Out His Daddy Issues."

Fun stuff. I'm trying to understand how Fox News taught this then-10th grader to "fetishize the flag." How have I missed this?

Here's another article by Matt Saccaro: "9 Things I Learned After a Year of Therapy." https://medium.com/@mattsaccaro/9-things-i-learned-after-a-year-of-therapy-4c6b9e0ffc7c

Interesting Therapy lessons. He certainly doesn't seem too happy with the Trump choice for America.

As far as the Teenage Robot, I think the title says it. He believes he was brainwashed, and that FOX destroyed his childhood. He cites a number of alienation experiences. I don't think it's healthy for teenager (and probably not we adults either) to get obsessed with Politics, either Right or Left. Teenagers should try to enjoy the adolescent experience.

We should also have begun to resolve our teenaged issues ten years later. Saccaro seems very immature to me.

Yes, but at least he recognized it, and is seeking help.

And that's good. But it also suggests that he shouldn't be taken too seriously. I mean, read the subtitle, which is all about daddy, and ask yourself again if Fox News really "indoctrinated" him and taught him to "fetishize" the flag.

I recently saw a movie called "The Brainwashing of my Dad". I firmly believe that FOX plays on emotions, and has this affect on a lot of people. I'll grant you that people should know better. However, FOX is very good at what they do. Roger Ailes was CEO at the time. He goes all the way back to the Nixon Administration. He is a media genius, when it comes to negative portrayals.

Or FFS.... Lol, yea its Fox news viewers who have anger issuess, not the people who responded to Hillary's loss by throwing a epic months long temper tantrum

A tantrum that made its way into GOP Townhalls, into Newspapers and media outlets and out to violent Left wing protest ( riots )

The people that Americans should be worried about are the ones doing anything and everything possible to undermine the agenda and Presidency of a duly elected President because they lack the emotional maturity to accept a election loss like adults.

And then you have MSNBC's Rachel Madcow melting down on Election Night while on the air!

Lol...Oh yea, forgot about that.

Her post election downward descent into 24/7 Russian collusion conspiracy just shows she never fully recovered from that night.

That's pretty much SOP for any media outlet.

Actually, this young man's venture into FOX News was during the Roger Ailes tenure. Give Roger some credit. He dates back to the Nixon Administration, and he was a genius at manipulation. Everything from a forced simple Adjective that he commanded his subordinates to use. The unwary viewer thinks he's tuning into News. Little does the viewer know that he is slowly getting angry with Government. That evil BIG Government. That wicked TAX and SPEND party. It's too bad Roger couldn't keep his hands off the young girls. His tenure may been even longer.
