Trump wants happy news served to him, at least he isn't forcing US to believe it!!!!

Officials reportedly trawl through all sorts of news mediums—TV, websites, newspapers, Twitter—in preparing the folder. Even on days in which there is precious little good news to share, "communications staffers begin asking the RNC staffers for flattering photos of the president," Vice News reported. The aim seems to be to make Trump feel better about how things are going, even as his approval rating tanks to historically low levels.

Maybe he can request that his own news station (on the interweb) read it to him North Korean Style with loads of references to the Great Leader, benevolent leader, awesome super leader, etc. etc. would make him happy too.

No seriously, if this really is true, than that is really too weird, even for Trump.

Hugest two year old EVAR!

Well he's always been obsessed about how he looks in the media. Now he has all the resources available to just do that all day long or at least a good portion of his days. Now we know he gets this memo twice a day. 9:30 and 4:30. He also watches TV all morning from like 6-10. I also have a strong feeling that he doesn't exactly do a lot of work on the weekends. Since most weekends he spends away from the WH and he is in the business mindset still. Working hours etc... He's also tweeting more at night now, which is perhaps whenever Kelly isn't around.. The guy is obsessed with media, so IDT it's that weird, just funny.

There's nothing wrong with that. He wants to know that many people appreciate what he's trying to do. They don't have to look very hard. His Facebook feeds are chock full of positive encouragement from people. And that's not propaganda. That's truth.

Sorry Maggie a balanced person would want to know both sides of the situation and it's not like he's trying very hard to avoid conflicts with those he doesn't agree with. He just wants the agreements to outweigh the disagreements. That's the type of person he is, but he has to realize that as President he can't and won't please everybody

Yes...it is perfectly normal to want people to generate a folder of accolades and beauty shots for you every morning.

You're kidding, right? He knows both sides. He recognizes the media's vendetta. He hears it every.single.day. He isn't trying to please everybody. Not by alongsho

There are many things to criticize the POTUS for. This simply isn't one of them.

It is very funny, but it makes complete sense given how incredibly insecure he is. Remember how he bragged about the size of his manhood during a debate because he was so frazzled by a tiny hands joke? It sucks that we essentially have a spoiled teenager as president, but that is our reality.

He does it twice a day a folder full of Trump is Great! Even for the most experienced blogger or social media person, that's a lot.

So you use Facebook for ego reinforcement?

Most people get real satisfaction from the constant validation they receive on Facebook. Anyone honest will admit that. We love Likes and Loves and Smiles. It's human nature. Why do you think they're posting? To read about YOU???

I use it to stay in contact with family. I really don't care about constant validation. It honestly sounds a little unusual to want something like that.

Perhaps for you it is. You are atypical, imo. We love it when people think our stories are funny, our lives are interesting. We get gratification from validation, when they admire our children, put us in their prayers -- and that is Facebook's strength.

Maggie, the best thing to do is ignore these types of threads.

They only serve two purposes.

The first is to try to draw opponents in so they can gang up and preach.

The second is to reinforce and reassure each other that they are still morally superior and on the path of righteousness.

I come in to see what new "issue" is on their burners...simple curiosity. You might consider doing the same.

Yes, it is one of them. He is a vain child, and like many have said, simply not fit to be President.

I use it like you but in my experience most daily users of FB fall into the category Maggie is describing.

THAT would have been a rough one. Especially if he only wanted the GOOD news.

It really wasn't that hard during LBJ and pre-Tet, 1968. The military commanders pretty much painted a rosy picture. We're winning, the light is at the end of the tunnel, etc. Now the CIA had a different picture. Ever hear of the five o'clock follies, the news briefings held at MACV?

Do you think Obama got information like this delivered to him daily? I do. I think it's likely every POTUS did something similar. It only makes sense. "Let's see what my supporters are saying." Imagine the nerve of the guy. What a ridiculous thing to do. Not.

There's nothing wrong with that.

There is Maggie, there most definitely is and the fact that you cannot see that isn't terribly surprising.

Trump supporters don't really live in the same reality as the rest of us.

I think a balanced person would also understand why people don't like him, and that should matter to him. For me, I don't like the campaign he ran. I also think he is racist. If he wanted to reach out to me, he could do so and maybe try to understand what he said that I didn't like and made me lack trust in him. Instead he wants to be told he is great. I am sorry, but he isn't that great. He isn't going to go down in history as great, unless he starts caring about his critics to some degree and tries to figure out why he is below 40 in the polls.
