Lahren repeatedly argued against the law, which President Obama signed in 2010. But she did say at one point that she was still on her parents' insurance plan because of it.
"Do you have a health care plan or no?" Handler asked Lahren.

"Well luckily, I'm 24, so I am still on my parents' [plan]" Lahren replied.


The audience immediately began laughing and cheering, but Handler shushed them. "Stop, stop, stop, she's being honest," she said.
A key provision of Obamacare allows dependents to remain on their parents' plans until they reach 26 years old. Before the law was passed, the cutoff age was 19, or 22 for full-time students.

I can see why Glenn Beck fired her. She's downright retarded in some of the things she admits to believing. Who would want to be seen as a conservative while admitting that they're on Obamacare plan thanks to their parents?

She is proof that much of the Republican voting base contradicts itself regularly. They benefit from government programs, while simultaneously trying to shut them down. It's also an important example of right wing media bias (I chuckled when I wrote that).

Their opposition to these programs isn't based on them having access to the programs. It's based on others having access to it. Sort of selfish.

I realized a long time ago that most conservative talking heads are hypocrites or liars in telling us what they believe. She is no exception. It was talk radio that elected Trump, not True conservatives. It helped that they had been able to brainwash the base for twenty years. There are very few honest Conservative pundits around today.
 
So if/when it's repealed, she might have to live under...personal responsibility...[gasp!]

I've never commented on Obamacare here because there's no real solution to the problem. Healthcare for everyone, save the very rich, is a problem. I'm not outraged if the 32 million or so receive basic care. What concerns me more is the quality of care for the vast majority of Americans, and the price it's costing people. Government throws money away on thousands of things, healthcare for the poor is the least of those things I'd worry about.
 
Suppose her parents are subsidized and she is riding the taxpayer rather than her own plan that she might have to cut a check for.
 
To be fair anybody with any kind of insurance is on Obamacare, and anybody with insurance benefits from it.

T.L. I actually think is really smart. Under the right circumstances she could add value to society by being a speechwriter or communications person for some politician, if not for herself. What's gotten her into trouble is when she's told the truth - once on the view for admitting she was pro-choice, and then in the example in this OP.

Had Laren just kept her true views under wraps she'd still have a profitable career spewing alt-right B.S.

Im all for repealing and not replacing ACA I do however like that provision of the law. I find it kind of strange that it was included because it is counterproductive to the mandate. If those young adults were required to carry thier own policy that would add money to the insurance pool that is covering everyone.

Actually, she's unemployed because she's pretty stupid. If I was trying to sell myself to a progressive crowd, the last thing thing I'd admit to is being pro-life, and also an opponent of Obamacare. I'd end up without a job (like Tomi), and the only thing I'd blame it on is stupidity.

I think there's a point you're missing here.

Does Tomi Lahren need to be on her parents Obamacare plan? Of course not. She's more than financially capable of covering her own medical expenses, but like anyone else, why would she pay for something out of pocket when she doesn't have to? Her situation demonstrates the major flaw in government run health care programs and explains why the quality of care they provide is so piss poor.

I'm a smoker and have been since I was 13 years old, but I have always supported "cigarette taxes" and the outright banning of tobacco. I have always known that as long as cigarettes were available and I could afford them, I would smoke until the day I died. I know cigarettes will eventually be the death of me, but as hard as I've tried over the years, I just can't quit. I know that the only way I can quit smoking is if cigarettes aren't available or become so expensive that I can't afford to buy them, so does supporting those measures make me a hypocrite or a human being?

Human nature... It's something that is never factored into government entitlement programs, or taken into consideration by the people who support those programs.

That's totally ridiculous logic and yes it does make you a hypocrite. Sure, humans are hypocrites in daily life with things that they don't really care about but if you are actively and vocally against something and then it's found out that you are using the thing you are actively against: Guns, Obamacare, Gas powered cars, religion etc... If that's OK to you conservatives what's the point of having principles? Why aren't you outraged at the simplest most obvious betrayers of your so-called ideological stances, but when the other side does something not as bad, you whine and moan like little babies?
