Fox News is Using Unnamed Sources to Defend Trump

I didn't know Trump worked for Fox News. He should have created that TV channel like he wanted to. Instead of becoming President.

If you don't think the WH has a message or narrative they wish to portray you have your head in the sand. Every administration has and does.

Who is your source?

Do you also have a second source that confirms the same thing?

If not, this is not a story that can be published as news under the guidelines of reputable news organizations.

OMG.

:lamo

You don't know who John Miller is, do you?

LOLOLOL

That has been the problem with media since the founding of the nation.

Very true!

In the early days of the Republic, there were "news" papers that were nothing more than the propaganda arms the political factions vying for power.

They were recognized for what they were and the venom issued by and directed at all were as vicious as the venom spewed by the various candidates against each other.

During the 20th Century, factual reporting was touted as the gold standard of journalism, so the biased coverage that was offered was promoted as factual reporting.

I remember comparing the styles of Newsweek to Time and determining that Newsweek had a more conservative slant. A distinction without a difference, but that was what we had to compare.

Now the broadcasting bias is all over the yard and we actually have differing points of view.

Is a varied marketplace of ideas with noted bias better than a lock step harmony of opinion? I think it is, but only for the few that appreciate the difference between a symphony and a solo.

Okay. I'll type very slowly so you can understand:

Who is the source that you are relying on to report that John miller is the source of the story you are trying to support?

Are you able to follow that?

Please let me know if I need to type even slower for you.

I agree, variety is better. Conservatives have some work to do.

I was right. You don't know who John Miller is. Too funny.

I wouldn't trust any article that just says "source said" without any qualifying information about that source or even saying who the author is.

Shall we screenshot this for future reference? :)

Code1211 is trying to defend Trump and the administration.

My advice for this thread is be kind to those who are unkind: they need it the most.

I'll be kind and inform code...who apparently didn't get the joke.

"John Miller" is a ghost. An apparition made up by Trump years ago to be a "source" for media outlets wherein he pretended to be "close" to Trump and proceeded to brag up the ying yang about himself.

He admitted in court proceedings that he used this phony character (sometimes he would be "John Barron") in conversations with media outlets.

Then last year, when tapes of him faking it surfaced, Trump lied about it being him.

I agree, variety is better. Conservatives have some work to do.

They've come a long way since about 1980.

Before then, there was not a strong counter point to the Liberal media message in the US. Since then, it has grown remarkably.

An honest journalist does not deal in narratives. They deal in accurate and ethical reporting.

Right. Mika and Joe took the high road, they didn't care if the enquirer published the story. Trump was the one who wanted it published!

Huh? What does that have to do with what you said about narratives?

What does Trump joining Fox news have to do with anything but narratives and messaging? You said it, you tell me.

I already told you. The narratives between the two aren't that different. Especially if we are to take this article at their word. Just because of... source

Don't you just hate it when a poster edits the post to which he responds for no apparent reason?

I was comparing the motivations of of a journalist to the motivations of a politician.

It's obvious that politicians play fast and loose with facts. That's their job.

Journalists are supposed to present a fair and well sourced report of the news of the day.

Commentators are free to spout whatever bile they prefer, but should be clearly labeled as non-news shows.

Today, the definition between opinion and reporting is blurred to the point that it no longer exists.

I am not supporting or demeaning any particular opinion spouter, just noting that they are deceptive and conniving ratings seekers.

There is almost no intention in our news services to provide a fair and equal report of the news of the day.

He's doing what a chief executive does.

Hires people who can do a job and then tells them to do their jobs.

Doesn't actually require much time. Other people are doing the work.

It's kind of like his Tweets. It takes him about a minute to send out a Tweet and the members of the media spend days and days with thousands of man hours responding to them.

All he did was make 140 key strokes and the little kittens in the press corps go wild.

It's the most efficient use of energy I've ever witnessed.

Helen's face launched 1000 ships. Once. Trump's thumbs launch daily fits of rage in our media elite.

This is better than watching WKRP.

Trump's thumbs are up his ass just like his head, and the noses of his supporters.

They are, only idiots like Trump don't think so.

To quote John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious!"

Please note that in this "News Report", there is no news reported. NBC is reporting reporting.

Evidence Mounts for Trump'''s Meddling in Russia Probe. But Is It Obstruction? - NBC News

We are already where the Russians were as the Soviet Union.

THE RIGHT IS RIGHT: “There is no Pravda in Izvestiya and there is no Izvestiya in Pravda”
<snip>
The citizens of the Soviet Union knew the government controlled the news, and the news they received was complete garbage. As such there was a saying among the Soviet citizens: “Существует нет правды в Известиях и нет Известия в правде.”

Roughly translated as: “There is no Pravda in Izvestiya and there is no Izvestiya in Pravda.”

Sadly, we have the same case with American news...And the American people know it.

Well, when you state an opinion is is pure opinion.

Absolutely no effort to dress it up as fact.

I'll give you that.

Sure. Just don't ignore the qualifier in my post like you did above...or your future trolling will back fire.
