Fakes Time Magazine Cover at Trump Golf Clubs

1) He's the one who started the "fake news" mantra. Fake news, indeed. Hypocrisy should be called out. Every time.

2) In at least one photo I saw he displayed it on a wall with a dozen or so other legit magazine covers. No disclaimers, just leading people to believe that one was legit, too. It's called lying-by-omission.
Of all the things to get excited about, I don't think this is one of them.

The ironic thing is that Trump supporters will believe that the fake cover is the real one....and that the news media reporting on it are all biased against Trump and reporting fake news. That's how wacko the right-wing has become.

For all those who really, really think it's only the 'lefties' who see the president* as a complete and utter buffoon incapable of making it thru a single day without embarrassing rational Americans,
I offer the following

I'm sure Paul Ryan and the senior Republican leadership all think Trump is the next coming of Einstein.

You've never gone to the fair and posed for a old-timey picture dressed as a cowboy and then hung that picture on your wall? Are you really a cowboy? Would you tell everyone who entered your home that you aren't really a cowboy, that the picture was just for fun?

Maybe we can let Trump decorate his golf courses however the heck he wants. I sure as heck don't give a damn.

You do give a damn, because you're here defending him. I would not hang a fake photo with a bunch of legit photos and allow people to believe the fake photo was real. And if it ever came up in conversation like this has, I'd be damn sure to state categorically that it is not real and just for fun.

Boom, drama denied.

I don't care how he does, but I will defend his right to decorate however he wants. It's not like he put up a fake degree and was passing it off as real. Geez.

Easy to get / make, yes.

Some, apparently, get a kick out of seeing themselves on the cover.

Oh, this is 'news' just because it's anti-Trump, and can feed the 'destroy Trump at any cost' the 'news' (tabloid political propaganda, really) have adopted to feed their ideological demand and needs.

It's like News of the Weird, sort of funny/sad/pathetic commentary about our current POTUS.

LOL, it's just a little different to hang it in your home for fun, versus in public spaces in your facilities, where you know hundreds of people will see the fake cover and assume it's real.

And of course we can let him do what he wants, AND laugh at the sorry spectacle of it all.

Just a couple of questions:

A) Do we know for a fact that Trump approved it?
B) Do we even know for a fact that Trump has seen it?
C) Has Trump ever said that it was a real cover when asked?

I would bet that there is a funny story behind it and instead of just asking, the media decided to rake him over the coals for it. This is why people hate watching/listening to the news. Go report some real news.

The same fake cover is in multiple locations - 7 was the count I heard last. We should assume he's seen them, and therefore approved of them. Be pretty incredible for staffers to do the same thing in multiple locations and the boss never find out.

LOL, they're in public places. You can't wonder if he even knows about them, and then ask if he's acknowledged they're fake... And given the location of the fake cover with other real ones, we can assume the intent is for people to also believe this one is real.

Give me a break. It's not an either/or thing. Call it human interest - part of nearly every news broadcast.

Agreed it's funny/sad/pathetic, bug I think that lies more so with the 'news' (tabloid political propaganda) media.

You can assume all you want. The people who are bothered by this have a real chip on their shoulder.

You asked the questions, I answered them.

I'm not bothered by this any more than I am all the other indications our POTUS has a serious personality disorder.... ;)

While I understand your position of hypocrisy, I don't, however, agree with it.

If Trump was in fact responsible and the impetus to create, or have created that image is still a question or not? Isn't it? Perhaps some marketing underling decided to take it onto himself to produce it and hang it?

The whole thing is it kinda same sort of thing as when you stick your head through a cardboard standup with some artful setting or scene and have your picture taken, and should be treated just as seriously, if you ask me.

Call it a crime against humanity if you want, as you are entitled to, but I don't think it's really that significant. Do you really hold all others to this same level of accountability? Really?

Was the law that Obama signed, the same plan imagine at the time of the statement? And we are off thread.

It was those lies on which that legislation was sold to the electorate.

At that same time, Gruber already knew that it was a lie, a sham, a scam, and later admitted it in public statements, did he not?
Do you really think that Gruber knew and kept it from Obama and others?

You answered them with assumptions, nothing else.
