Press conference isn't that supposed to be a public affair in front of people on the media.

I keep hearing of press conferences with no video allowed no recording allowed so what I want to know is why?
I mean we were told not to trust the media, but if you have a press conference with know video recording how are we to know what was said unless the media which this administration has called fake news reports. What was said, or you could have another press conference with no video recording which they can discuss what the first first press conference was about behind closed doors of course.

I guess somebody kinda forgot that part in the Constitution where it says freedom of Press.:peace

I await any comments or criticisms of this subject

I also guess somebody has forgotten that daily press conferences actually started sometime during the Clinton Administration.

Prior to that they were held on an "as-needed" or "periodic" basis under past Presidents, usually when the Administration had something it wanted to say for public consumption or to give the Press a chance to catch up on issues.

IMO, this has turned into exactly what other's have mentioned, not an opportunity to hear news...rather an opportunity to create news.

I wouldn't mind at all going back to the old process of calling a press conference when the Administration has something it wants to report, rather then having a flock of vultures allowed to pick at the Administration on a daily basis.

That's just me.

These are your words are they not?
My question is simple.
Questions"hard questions" come with the territory, you can't expect a red carpet and flowers and praise at every press conference other administrations didn't get that why should this one be any different?
Anyway I keep hearing the right wing and Trump whining about being picked on, when Obama was accused of not being an American, when Obama was accused of being a Muslim when Obama was called a "monkey in the White house there was no great uproar WHY?

When Trump was on the Campaign trail he was supposed to be this tough guy with words like "if I'm elected I'm gonna be tough".
A few hard questions from reporters a little bad Press he folds and says "stop picking on me"???
Perhaps if he would have kept his campaign promises he wouldn't be picked on as much.

Finally check President Trump's rating that doesn't come from CNN, that comes from the American people.
I don't care how many times he gathers his administration "yes men"around a table and they all say how great he is.
Out here in America it don't mean a damn thing.:peace

Wow, the opposition must really be getting desperate for something to rage at Trump over to make this is into a issue. There's nothing in the Consitution that mandates that all Presidential press conferences be telivized and made public. Freedom of the Press doesn't mean the press has free and unfettered acces to the executive branch. If that were the case the Press could set up cameras at everytime Trump meets with his National security detail.

This is a non-issue

This is too easy.
When Trump meets with his National Security detail there is no notification to the Media that they will be meeting at least there shouldn't be.
However, when there is a notification of a Press conference then what's wrong with the press siting up cameras , after all it is public news is it not? That is unless they have something to hide, like maybe only calling on certain reporters that just happen to be Trump supporters or Russian news but not CNN , not or the Post?:peace
