O'Reilly to start his own news channel

Long live Capitalism. If he can find an audience and make it work, what's wrong with what O'Reilly is reported to be thinking about?

Never said anything wrong with it, he might have to explain to his audience how to find him though ;)

I wonder how many 65 year old fats know how to launch a Podcast.

I'm convinced this is what Trump's plans were for the fan base he built during the election. That is until he was blindsided by actual victory.

I do think, unfortunately, there is an audience for something for something more extreme than Fox News.

<<<<<won't be watching

Great!
I bet Bill could get some really good advertisers; Viagra, Hair Club for Men, Depends, Republican National Convention, NRA, AARP, Prostate Cancer Research Institute, and there are many companies he could get to advertise from the $21 billion dollar a year funeral industry.
Go Bill!!

Lol. I still look up in surprise when they say Prez Trump.

Bill will be Bill. He and Megan were FNC's biggest cash cows. They can do whatever they please and nobody who doesn't want to has to listen to either.
I will never understand all the outrage about FNC, CNN, ....Don't like it, change the channel. We do live in a free country after all.

That might actually be a real problem he would have considering his demographics.

Remember Fox News was once a fledgling venture on cable. I have missed O'Reilly terribly since he left Fox. I tried to tune in most nights at 6 p.m. (mountain time) to catch his monologue that was usually well researched, spot on, and gave us a lot to think about even when we disagreed with him. (I read Camille Paglia, Democrat and leftist, for the same reason.)

I sometimes didn't stick around for the rest of the show which was too often people shouting over each other--and that included Bill doing that too, and I hate that, but there were times he also did provocative interviews with interesting people.

Tucker Carlson has been good in O'reilly's slot but he just doesn't bring the same kind of star power and as a result doesn't attract the same audience. But it's all good. He was excellent in Megyn's old spot--I don't miss her at all--and Hannity's ratings have increased and he's doing well. He is the highest paid personality at Fox and was earning more than O'Reilly or Megyn at the time they left. If Fox continues to make bad programming decisions--putting "The Five" in Megyn's old slot was a terrible decision in my opinion--and O'Reilly's network took off, I think he might be able to lure Hannity over there. Add a few really great minds like Levin et al, and it could be a go.

If O'Reilly does start his own news network, I for one would certainly check it out. I bet a lot of us would.

It depends on how old you are. If you are the 80s end of the spectrum of his audience. You won't likely care about the scheduling of Fox News. If you are 50s-60s. You probably would try to find out where Bill went.

The left has deemed that his opinions not be distributed.

Only the views of people such as Maddow's have been approved for distribution.

This is the liberal fascism the left is allowing it's alt-left elements to devolve the party into.

I'm right there with you. I wouldn't change a word if I had written your post myself.

The Rupert sons just don't have the same kind of savvy that Rupert and Roger Ailes had. So far Fox is hanging in there because of some really good people Ailes brought in, but without a steady hand to guide everything overall, I don't know if it will be able to hold its audience.
