O'Reilly to start his own news channel

You must not have read what I posted on that. He did talk over people and I hated that, but he didn't yell at them until they shut up or slinked away. He was not at all offensive in that way. He billed the O'Reilly factor as the 'no spin zone' and he was not about to allow his guests to filibuster their way out of answering questions or addressing the issue they were invited to address. Many of us complained that he pushed people too quickly and everybody was then talking at once--frustrating for a listener who was interested in the topic. But having done some television, I know from personal experience that he also had a producer in his ear urging him to move on because they were running out of time for that segment.

And it didn't seem to hurt his ratings as he beat EVERYBODY on cable and generally out rated those on network television too.

Kinda like MSNBC Chris Mathews ... the guy never stops Talking, don't need any guest.

You might want to watch these clips. There are more Bill O'Reilly's 5 Biggest, Loudest, Screamingest Freak-Outs

Dismissing the fact that the piece threw in one that had nothing to do with the O'Reilly factor, he wasn't shouting down anybody. Energetic, emphasis, not allowing the interviewee to control the program, yes. Perhaps inappropriatel accusing the guest? Open for difference of opinion there I think. But if you cherry pick one or two or so videos out of hundreds and hundreds of hours of programming, isn't that rather disingenuous too?

Here is another example of that particular syndrome of challenging a guest:

Oh Yes, Trump and O'Reilly aren't loudmouths...

Never suggested they were or weren't. The OP contains a bias as indicated by the second word in it.

Obviously that indicates a rejection of what some are suggesting O'Reilly might be planning.

That was my point.

I don't believe a politician can be successful without being a loudmouth. Certainly anyone who make a living in politics, or commenting on it, must be a loudmouth.

um no. It's just a description of how he acts. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he lands on Netflix or a similar streaming service, but just because you think loudmouth = negative. You'd rather not talk about what he is planing and just talk about the vast left wing conspiracy out to get him...

wow. Bill O'Reilly was host of the show Inside Edition from 1995-1999. This has nothing to do with "The Factor." This has to do with Bill O'Reilly's attitude. No matter where he is public or private. It's not that much different from the way he treats women apparently. I never said he accused his guests, but he does shout them down. You have to admit that. These aren't cherry picked these are just the TOP five. He did this type of stuff daily on his show. Especially when he didn't agree with someone or wanted to accuse someone of being a liberal blowhard. Not the best way to have a debate IMO.

Perhaps you should read my first comment. A question was asked, and I responded, writting, long live Capitalism and said if he can find an audience what is wrong with him trying?

Is that controversial? Is that avoiding what he is planning?

What would be the reply if I wrote, the guy is a jerk and he deserves to live in oblivion for the rest of his life? Would that be any different from what I wrote?

So if I think about it, and the reaction to my post, what exactly is the point of this thread?

I did you are the one who can't get past loudmouth.

Difference in perspective. No doubt because he was so terrible his ratings were head and shoulders above EVERYBODY else on cable TV and most on the free networks.

Again loudmouth =/= terrible. I never said he was bad at what he did.

Actually, it would seem you can't get past the need to go after someone simply because they have different views that you do.

uh, I never talked about O'Reilly's views.
I tend to agree with him a lot, not that you ever thought to ask.

I haven't heard him in several years, but I too agree with him quite a bit. I just cannot stand the way he speaks.
