Sandy Hook mom shreds Megyn Kelly’s Alex Jones interview

Some people will use the death of their child to go on a never-ending pity party just like this woman.

Yeah, all those mothers against drunk driving--attention whores the whole lot of them

Are you even conscious of the garbage you post?

Some people will use the death of a child to spread lies and conspiracies for their own personal gain
They should be shunned and NOT interviewed by members of the media

I take MK at her word here.

Megyn Kelly Defends Alex Jones Interview After Criticism From Sandy Hook Families | HuffPost

Megyn Kelly ✔ @megynkelly
POTUS's been on & praises @RealAlexJones' show. He's giving Infowars a WH press credential. Many don't know him; our job is 2 shine a light. https://twitter.com/justincarrier/status/874083673376739329

And there is nothing wrong with exposing them and having those views challenged.

This is exactly why he should be interviewed by a real news person. I'll admit, I didn't see the interview and don't intend to. However, I'm hoping/expecting Kelly called him out and used reasonable arguments and questions to make him look ridiculous. Hopefully, whoever saw the interview came away with the idea that Jones is wrong. Nothing more. If that occurred, then the interview did something good and demonstrates how important freedom of expression is, even when someone's views are off the rails. Rather than shutting Jones down, despite his sizable audience and pretending he does not exist, it is far more effective to openly take on his ideas and demonstrate how ridiculous they are. This should be applied more frequently. Too often, we are seeing groups of folks trying to use intimidation to prevent the free speech of some group or person based on ideas that they find ridiculous or wrong. In a free society, this should not be the way we disagree. I'll give a grieving mother a pass in how she reacts to the interview. However, it does not mean she is right.

It can ONLY gain him more followers. Those who believe this nutjob will never change their minds and there will always be a few more people who will hear of Jones and join him the more you give him exposure. We are not talking about a debate on ideas we are talking about a dishonest scumbag who makes up crap to earn $$$ from tragedy. The average person knows how crazy Jopnes is just from hearing him speak. There is no reason to expose those at risk to falling down his rabbit hole to this guy

This so-called controversy is indicative of the sad state of American political culture. Consider this...

Starting in the 1960s journalists did not ban those of strange or crazy opinion; the smart ones did stories and interviews of them. Wm F Buckley made a living out of having extremists on his show and abusing them with wit and intelligence. And until the last decade or so, no one gave a rodents rear if Charles Manson or George Lincoln Rockwell (American Nazi Party) were interviewed.

So what have we become? Alex Jones is not a murderer or head of a radical party, he is a nut-case with a website who holds crazy opinions. Today the American culture is consumed by protesting and wanting to ban "bad thoughts", and too many wimps and whiners are fueling this insanity.

He does not express opinions or views, those things are debatable. He spreads lies and misinformation, intentionally
There is something wrong in deliberatly giving a scumbag like Jones another platform to spread his BS

So American journalists should not interview anyone who is dishonest and makes bucks from tragedy? And, one supposes, these same journalists should not interview those who cause tragedy? How about banning interviewing those who support communism? The NAZI party? The editors of the National Enquirer? Wacky conspiracy film makers like Oliver Stone?

Nonsense. Man up! Have the courage to confront the kooks and publically criticize them. You can't expose people like Jones UNLESS you humiliate them - otherwise all you do is give them a propaganda win, underscoring that "the media is afraid of truth".

In the age of social media, these people will get their message out anyway. Exposure is the only way to dampen their growing popularity.

She is only giving him a platform to spread his lies, this is a wrong course of action for the reasons I have stated.

In a perfect world, the POS would not have a press pass to the WH. That he does is newsworthy. So, I agree with MK. We need to expose who this guy really is.

Probably wouldn't hurt to do the same to Trump. Which is why I, for one, am very happy that the media is on that him like flies on ****.

Ideas yes debate but Jones is not about ideas he is about spreading lies and nothing else.
Yeah challenge Jones on Jones platform but dont give the scumbag a wider audience.

I think that the sooner Americans understand that their children and everyone else's are merely collateral damage in the effort to treat radical Islam as a harmless religion, the sooner they will understand that they don't count.

Sure buddy. Sandy Hook had everything to do with Islam.....wait a minute......

No. No it didn't.

Trump is an elected official and regardles sof whether you like him or not, he is newsworthy.
Jones is just a piece of excrement and the sooner he is ignored (the worst thing ever that could happen to him) the better.

I hope MK interviews and busts his balls; and having seen her in action I am sure she is quite capable of doing so. Those, like Trump, who read Jones need to see their "source" taken down.

Of course, in the age of Joe Pine, Jones would have been exposed as a part of entertainment...laughed at, ridiculed, embarrassed. This guy should have been dealt with years ago.

I'm sorry to hear that you think news should be censored just because it's inconvenient. You think it's a good thing when journalist actively censor news? Huck Finn should be banned too m i rite?

It's the bleeding heart liberals saying Jones should be allowed to go unchallenged and the Trump supporters saying he needs to be exposed. You should read the thread.

I agree that seems to be the case; but I really don't care. Anyone who wants to run and hide from Alex Jones is doing him the biggest favor - imagine how he would exploit a cancellation of MK's program..."You see all the deep state main stream media is terrified of me. They can't handle the truth...".

Only by shining light on evil, stupidity and all other negative aspects of life from either or any side can we know who and what to fight or at least oppose.

Some people will use the death of their child to go on a never-ending pity party just like this woman.

Pity party? Really? Should she just forget the fact that her child was brutally and traumatically taken from her while in a place that she thought was safe and nurturing? Who are you to judge her?

You just made the best argument against interviewing him. He is largely irrelevant and a cartoon character compared to most sociopaths. He is merely a self-promoting buffoon who doesn't rate any interest from the American public at large.

Huh? You mean because Alex Jones has not done something as bad a Saddam Hussein, Charles Mansion or OJ Simpson (all of them having been interviewed on TV), its okay if they are given a platform for their sick lies and beliefs, but not a conspiracy nut.

LOL..

By the way, the fact that YOU think he should not rate any interest is irrelevant, the fact is he does among his faithful. And when he uses his website, blog-casting, and syndicated radio show HE ALREADY has big platforms to spread his lies relentlessly. If you think the American public well be seduced by one media interview, only this time with a critical and aggressive reporter, then it won't matter how much you try to suppress him.

Come on...man up and challenge the guy.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. It is more important to study real threats to society and real criminal behavior than irrelevant clowns like Alex Jones. His biggest "crime" is encouraging stupidity. If people can't tell that he is obviously a wacko it is already too late for them. Not much anyone can do about that.

Only in this case there were actual victims. Everything is not about victim culture. Innocent children being gunned down in school creates actual victims, the children as well as the parents and families victimized. I don't expect them to just get over it.

I expect them to understand that they dont have any more right to decide what everyone talks about than I do, being victims does not give people extra rights.

Should not anyways, we are so hopped up on victim culture now.....

Being a victim should get them a measure of sympathy and compassion, as they are true victims in every sense of the word. They are not asking for extra rights, they are asking for empathy and consideration of their pain.

If the conversation upsets them then they should go away, come back when they are ready, but they are not going to dictate what I can and can not talk about.

I am a free man, and I am going to stay a free man.

I'm a person who's taking a scornful look at her twitter outrage. Her losing her child doesn't mean that her opinions are above reproach.
