Megyn Kelly Debuts on NBC

With "They" including even the chairman of NBC...But you know I talk regularly on the subject on how the American Elite Suck so this does not come as a complete shock to me. What is really delish about this is that the Comcast brain trust thought that they were letting no stone go unturned in the effort to make sure that this Megyn Kelly expensive and disruptive gambit works, but what they were really doing was setting her up to fail. And if she fails then they fail. And this looked like a likely failure from the moment they said that they were bringing Kelly on, giving her what ever she wants, she who has made it her lifes work to muck-up every place she goes, and then need to leave.

Of course if you go look at what the so-called journalists are saying about Comcast/Kelly/Putin I dont thing you will find anyone talking about any of this.

Because they suck.

What is "American Elite" and what is not?

How is an alleged multi-billionaire not "elite"?

Don't worry....I know there aren't straight answers...

Her flaming out in spectacular fashion would be a popular attraction.

For those various reasons.

I watched most of the interview, and I do like Kelly for the obvious reasons.

Maybe one reason she came out looking a bit foolish is because she seems to have embraced all the nonsense put out by the Dems and those interested in vilifying Russia? She acted a bit too much like a prosecutor rather than a curious interviewer?

Kelly Putin Interview. What an odd pairing:

I saw it. She didn't impress me with her prep. Putin left pathways to take but she didn't follow them. I didn't get the impression they were mental equals who could "point/counterpoint" with each other and have a lively discussion.

I expected more of a Fox News impact but it seemed "blah".

To a certain group, she was awesome while at Fox, inexplicably person non grata the moment she left.

Why?

Probably because she was tired of being harassed by a bunch of dirty old men.

I thought Megyn handled herself pretty well....and Putin looked very uncomfortable squirming in his chair as he denied and then justified Russian involvement. But it was just the day before that he publicly admitted that the Russians were involved...but of course, he wouldn't give Kelly that satisfaction.

"...The last two days have seen two major developments regarding Russian hacking. First, Russian President Vladimir Putin tacitly admitted that Russian hackers might have influenced the U.S. election, but claimed that any hackers were just patriots, acting independently of the Russian government. Then The Intercept published a leaked NSA report stating that Russian military intelligence had tried to penetrate U.S. voting systems....

After the Kremlin tried to deflect initial reports about the Kremlin’s involvement as “nonsense,” such attempts are losing their effectiveness as more and more details to the contrary come to light. Bear in mind that this issue is not only closely watched in the U.S. but around the world and Moscow needs to be mindful of the court of public opinion not just in Washington but elsewhere, be it Beijing, New Delhi or Berlin. With Putin now pointing to Russian hackers acting independently of the Russian government, he might be trying to maintain plausible deniability while also identifying a potential scapegoat (that he might eventually be willing to sacrifice on the geopolitical altar)...."

“Hackers are free people, just like artists who wake up in the morning in a good mood and start painting,” Putin told news agencies at a meeting in St. Petersburg, the Associated Press reported. “The hackers are the same, they would wake up, read about something going on in interstate relations and if they have patriotic leanings, they may try to add their contribution to the fight against those who speak badly about Russia.”..."

Weak Sauce.

I didn't watch it. Personally I see little point in asking Putin questions because I wouldn't believe the answers. Perhaps it had some entertainment value.

Wow, she fell on her face!

The right NBC match for Putin was Chris Mathews. That woulda' been a blast! Seriously.

He did bring up 2 decent points that I have thought for awhile now.

1. Americans upset about another country allegedly interfering with their election is pretty hypocritical.

2. It doesn't matter who gets elected, America will continue the same way it always has been. Every person running for President always campaign on less foreign intervention because that is what the majority wants, and once elected they pull out the xbox controller and start dropping bombs over Baghdad. While I agree with his observation, I don't see this as a valid defense for him because it was obvious that both Putin and Clinton hated one another.

I agree with your second point. No matter who is president, the swamp is always there to make sure nothing different happens.

I still don't understand what happened and why she left FN. Isn't she a bit hypocritical working for NBC?
I wasn't impressed with her interview skills either and felt that she was leading until she had the answers she was looking for. She now seems to have found her match.

Trying to kill Trump in the crib destroyed her, plain and simple.

NBC is reportedly “freaking out” because the network’s over-hyped talent Megyn Kelly has already been a “ratings disaster.”

“They didn’t pay her $15 million for this. They are now worried that her numbers will be bad when she joins the 9 am hour of Today,” a source reportedly told Radar Online. “If Kelly tanks at 9 am she will also bring down Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb at 10 am.”

The debut of Kelly’s Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly, with its much-hyped Vladimir Putin interview, could not even beat out a rerun of 60 Minutes. Her second show got clobbered as well. As Radar Online noted, Kelly’s interview with Erin Andrews “was destroyed by 60 Minutes, which scored 7.66 million total viewers. Kelly got a paltry 4.35 million people to tune in to her program.”

Already in desperation mode, NBC is reportedly “scrambling” to land big “gets” like Kathy Griffin or Adrianna Grande because, according to the source, the network seems to have already determined that “people are not tuning in to watch Megyn without huge guests.”

After reportedly being rejected multiple times, Kelly finally found a producer for her daily one-hour morning show just last Friday.
NBC 'Freaking Out' over 'Ratings Disaster' Megyn Kelly: Report - Breitbart

This is all shocking news of course.....

Putin ran circles around her. He knows how to handle the press.

in a dog eat dog world of Russian Politics, you have to be both ruthless and extremely intelligent to become top dog. The darwinian pressures to be a News bimbo isn't quite as selective

By all measures, her “Sunday Night” effort (has) been a disaster: Her interviews have been either ridiculed or loathed by the rest of the press, and the ratings reflect a distinct lack of interest. To be sure, newsmagazines around one anchor have a high failure rate, even for respected names like Bryant Gumbel, Connie Chung, and Jane Pauley. But Kelly’s problems go beyond ratings. Her June 18 episode, an interview with InfoWars’ Alex Jones, began as a problematic decision and snowballed into a PR nightmare. Kelly couldn’t handle either the interview or its fallout.

Perhaps well-heeled paranoia coming from someone who could be in your PTA meeting is not as appealing as it once was. But if Kelly’s move to NBC was both an attempt to cement her brand and a network gambit to draw a certain demographic of viewers, it has failed on both counts. It may be worth going back to the drawing board entirely with Megyn Kelly — to evaluate her strengths not just by what she is or isn’t, but rather by what she can actually do.
NBC?s Megyn Kelly Problem (Column) | Variety

OUCH!

Well, I called it.

I think I said way back at the jump that Comcast taking Kelly, and especially at that price, sure indicates that Comcast does not know what they are doing.

This is more evidence.

To Wit:

Megyn Kelly launched her daytime makeover on Monday with "Megyn Kelly Today," conspicuously trying to reintroduce herself in the mold of Oprah Winfrey or Ellen DeGeneres -- complete with a caffeinated, cheering studio audience -- while establishing distance from her time as a Fox News anchor.
It's absurdly early, of course, to draw any conclusions about the efficacy of the Kelly experiment. Still, after tepid marks for her prime time newsmagazine and now her addition to "Today," it's worth considering that NBC News brass leapt at the opportunity to snag a high-profile news star without having fully thought through how best to deploy her.
