Pelley Out At CBS

CBS is coming under fire for running scared of NBC and Megyn Kelly as reports state Pelley is leaving CBS Evening News. He is on assignment and they are already clearing out his desk, not waiting until he comes back. He will focus exclusively on 60 Minutes.

Due in part to the ratings slump, things reportedly haven’t exactly been smooth between Pelley and CBS News president David Rhodes. “There’s also been friction between him and [Rhodes],” a source told the Post.

“[Pelley] was pushed out of the ‘Evening News.’ It’s been coming for a long time. This could have been handled better — [Pelley] is away on a story, and they’re cleaning out his office. It’s not the correct way to treat the face of CBS News,” the source added.

Good riddance. What tiny bit of respect I had for Pelley completely vanished after his remarks on the San Bernardino incident. He is a sycophant, nothing more.

His remarks regarding the testimony of the woman he had on the phone who worked in the building where it happened. She described the bad guys as best she knew, and Pelley replied to her "but the authorities have told us it was a man and his wife?" with an extremely perplexed look on his face. Cognitive dissonance in action.

Sorry I must leave this instant, but I'm pretty sure there was a thread on it in "Bias in the media" section.

No, we're talking about the same one, December 4 or 5 of 2015, my grandson's birthday more or less.

Yes, the official story as told to Pelley said a man and his wife, as Wikipedia has dutifully recorded.

The trouble was that Pelley's interview with the lady Sally A who he had on the phone and who worked in that center, described the bad guys she saw enter into Building 3, were 3 athletic looking males in military garb. Another witness, NOT reporting to CBS but to another network, described those same 3 males leaving after the shooting. I presume that Pelley was not aware of that testimony.

The police and the media completely ignored those 2 stories. Poor police work and poor journalism, facts of life in today's US of A.

Sounds like karma - from what I have read, it seems that Poison Pelley was quite the ass to everyone.

If they can't figure out how to get the ratings up with him in 6 years it ain't going to happen, and they know Comcast is pushing hard to make Megyn Kelly a winner...to the extent that the boss actually traveled to Russia to get her a Putin interview...its time.
