Imagine that. "Fox News Had The Best Reporting On Journalist Attack, But Its Top Hosts Ignored It." Gee, I wonder why. Do they like keeping their viewers in the dark? Of course they do. That's what Fox does.

Fox News Had The Best Reporting On Journalist Attack, But Its Top Hosts Ignored It | HuffPost

On Wednesday night, Fox News reporter Alicia Acuna described in unflinching detail how Greg Gianforte, a Republican congressional candidate from Montana, violently attacked a journalist for trying to ask him a question about health care policy the night before his state’s special election...

But even as Fox News’ online report was being shared widely on social media Wednesday night, the network’s right-leaning primetime lineup ― Tucker Carlson, “The Five” co-hosts and Sean Hannity ― ignored it.

lol..."nothing to see here folks. Hey, Seth Rich!"

It's a stark contrast. I'll watch MSNBC until I can't take it anymore, then I'll switch to FOX and the topics are way different.....

Oh man. That would be a self-induced bi-polar experience if ever there was one.

When I was a kid I'd run in a circle until dizzy and dam if I couldn't achieve equilibrium if I'd run the other direction for a while, had energy to burn then........now not so much!

There was a time when such restraint would have been considered prudent. There was a time where reports weren't issued until statements had been received from both parties to an incident. There was a time when journalists presided in news rooms but now it's all about the tabloid headline.

10 years ago, I watched cable news like you described. Lou Dobbs then Keith Olbermann and finally some Hannity, or I'd do O'Reily and Anderson Cooper. Probably end it all with the Daley Show too. Now? I don't even own a TV. I bet my blood pressure dropped 20 points.

On our Time-Warner (now Spectrum?) cable they are channels 48 (FNC) and 49 (MSNBC) - it does make for an interesting flip. ;)

There was a time when Republicans contained their "thrashing" of the press to symbolic words. Now they are physically attacking them in an attempt to intimidate free speech and good reporting.

And the Right fails to stand up and condemn such behavior.

Rethuglicans indeed.

lol...So, let me get this straight. Is your argument that Tucker, the Fox 5 and Sean are just being prudent journalists here?

Yup. Every republican does that. They riot in the streets, shut down free speech on college campuses, and use our own spy agencies to spy on us, too.

Indeed! I've been hung up on this the past few weeks, having only watched either MSNBC or FOX with any regularity after Trump's super incredible victory.

I'm curious, do you pick up a quality of guest difference? Trying to be non-partisan here, I mention it purely out of curiosity.

Obviously it's not rigorously examined, but it seems like a lot of the guests on the entertainment segments of Fox (most of it, Dobbs, Hannity, etc.), seem like B list. People with sloppy appearance, quirky. Or, the titles are also wildly mismatched. MSNBC and CNN will have "former FBI directory", "former CIA director", and similarly on Fox it's "former intelligence contractor", or "former FBI manager" (not senior, no mention of department, etc)

That's of course not even getting into the content differences...

I'm amazed you picked up on the fact that I was parodying DP cons! Congratulations.

Yup, just remember: "Be afraid - be very afraid. You aren't paranoid, they really are out to get ya!" :lamo

Of what time do you speak when a reporter who witnessed an incident firsthand would be asked to withold their report from their own news agency?

I feel like you just made this up. You probably should have went with the standard "but those shows aren't news shows".

We're safe. There aren't that many republicans. There's a lot of people voting for 'em evidently, but they aren't republicans. Who ARE they?

Where are the anonymous leakers when you need them? Sheesh!

I'm gonna pull a Spicey on you, I'll look into that and get back to you..........

That is sheer jive time nickel dime BS. The speaker of the House condemned the physical altercation at a presser today.

I think "condemned" is a little strong. Paul Ryan alway has a "wet finger" in the air!

After the election is a fairly safe time to make that comment. ;)

LOL, yeah and Republicans in the House hire Pakistanian IT people to take care of their computers allowing them access to all their emails and sensitive documents and even hire other members of his family paying them millions over the course of a couple of years. Then they turn around and steal the information and upload it to who knows where. Some family members have since fled to Pakistan while Republican Debbie Wasserman Shultz still has the main king pin of the outfit listed as an adviser threatening the DC police because they have in possession his laptop. The scandal has finally broke and Republican Nancy Pelosi was asked about it at a presser and like all republicans never seems to know anything about it.

lol..."nothing to see here folks. Hey, Seth Rich!"

Fox News is comprised of 2 different on-air departments... Political opinion and their news division. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that a) the news department at Fox News kicked butt on their coverage of the Gianforte incident, and b) you're pissed because the hosts of their political opinion shows discussed the topics their audiences were interested in hearing about, rather than discussing a topic MSNBC viewers and people who don't watch their shows are interested in... Hmmmm.

I will never understand how folks on the left will so often evaluate political opinion programs on Fox, using a hard news standard, and then turn around and apply that evaluation to the entire Fox News Channel, pretending it represents how they report the hard news. I realize that this isn't the case with the article in question, but it still puzzles me how so many people can criticize political opinion shows for what news they choose to talk about, or choose not to talk about.

Let's see. How should I address this? Ah I know.
