Im not a fan of Trump, but let's face it- the Simpsons haven't been funny for the last 20 or so years.

The Simpsons haven't even been allowed to be watched in my house due to the stupidity of it for as long as its been around. It's on par to South Park, Teletubbies, and Barney. I hate em all.

Yes, I have watched them before. I even gave them multiple chances. Each time I regretted it and wished I could get my time wasted back.

Agreed.

Some of that was funny.

But the Simpsons have lost all subtlety.

Instead of suggesting a joke...they now hit you over the head with it.

Definitely a VERY dumbed down show now...sad.

Intelligence, subtlety and wit. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I like them.

Hit all the obvious touchstones.
Kinda like rhyming "books" and "crooks" in a Springsteen song trashing Trump.
Doesn't make up for the Simpson's long decline.

The current iteration of Family Guy? Seriously? I don't care about Seth MacFarlane's inside jokes he has with his staff. The Simpsons are still at least relevant.

But some of the type of edgy thing the Family Guy had always done seemed like what The Simpson's had started to try for.
