Listen, I think we can agree that this is a fluid situation, nothing yet too much set in stone as regards the facts.
Unfortunately.
But I think both sides can honestly push for, hell, lets at least start the autopsies on these two already dead horses we keep beating. No. 1 dead horse: Either there was collusion with the Russian govt or there wasn't. If there was then the possible allowances can be made in the surveillance of an incoming administration by the one going out... if team Trump was involved with bona fide collusion.
No collusion will require a much higher bar for the reasonings behind surveillance.
Since a minimum of July of 2016.
That is 8 months and nothing but these unmaskings and, lest we forget, a felony leak to show for it. Questionable:
If somebody is risking going to jail for a leak that is of no consequence, that, I think we can all agree, would be dumb. What we can assume, with a lesser degree of confidence, is that nobody on the other team would be that... well, stupid, or maybe just slightly cocky, or maybe its just the norm we don't know about. But we have the paid lefty disrupters during the campaign to show the level of stupidity that some will go.
If it were just a little
nudge in the direction of alerting the press of actual collusion and letting them do a Watergate type slow unraveling more private enterprise, rather than named govt sources, investigation with it played out on TV and print matter, well, I would consider that very slick, sophisticated to the downright diabolical maybe.
At the same time if it was to merely throw an added wrench in the
firing on all cylinders Trump machine before election casting, causing doubt, especially when most thought Hill was set to be the sure fire winner...
Well then, that wrench it is about set to massively backfire because the left is no longer in control of the govt force mechanisms to unleash or hold back the dogs, whichever is the most appropriate and long term advantageous. Nor does the left any longer have control of either of the two houses of Congress, soon the Supreme Court. As we know, most of the nation is on the "other side". So this was, it is, to me, looking more and more to be, a pretty assumptive and brazen gamble... perhaps. If you do not see it that way, that is fine... we are both just gonna have to wait and see how the thing is gonna play out.
With Rice lying two weeks ago [ why would she feel she had to do that?] and now it changing from don't know what you are talking about, we absolutely were not surveilling to well, yes, but it was all legal...then you add Farkus trying to sing lead when she should had always previously only been backup, saying pretty potentially incriminating invitations to investigate her area, depending on viewpoint but appears pretty obligatory to me... what is gonna be the new plot twist, next we are going to hear what? Like watching a docudrama real time, a tele novela, just needs theme and mood music in the background.
Seems to me if you were gonna leak, though, risk maybe get caught, go to jail, it would be for the big cheese, the real goods on Trump, end up a hero, if you have the real goods. If after all that risk the only opposing fish you fried was Flynn, and that was not criminal but merely for integrity purposes at worse...will have resulted in becoming a very costly fishing expedition.
So, both no illegal surveillance, no collusion, yes collusion and yes surviellance, only one and not the other or neither. We do know that, by the leak, we have at least one criminal aspect to the two cases.
Entertaining yet potentially lethal, Trump is playing with these, the biggest of big boys with most the marbles... to lose. If they are not afraid to spy on an incoming President [ not yet proven beyond a shadow of doubt ], on the Senate [ proven ], individual private citizens [ proven ], Americans and planet Earthians [ proven ] ... what are they afraid of?
