The Trump-Media War... who fired the first shot?

In other words, whose fault is it?

Please don't just say "Trump" or "the media" without giving specifics.

Megyn Kelly of Fox was the first to start out the first debate with the first attack trying to "Kill him in the crib". She's now on daytime talk. Soon. Maybe. Still waiting... tick, tock, tick, tock....

The media fired the first shot.

John McCain slandered Trump's supporters and so Trump retaliated by bad-mouthing him. The media failed to document the entire situation and instead did the typical hack-job and made it look like Trump went after McCain for no reason.

Or you could say the media fired the first shot when they, once again, took out of context Trump's comments about illegal immigrants.

Yeah, there's that too. Even liberal Bill Maher called out Fox News for attempting to get him out of the race. Frank Luntz' "focus group" after that debate, which included paid actors, was the most hilarious thing I had seen at the time, in a tragi-comedy kind of way.

I believe that the Trump attack was only a repetition of the fake fact discussion that had been raging for some time and in response to partisan reporting at the beginning of the primaries.

If the media has always been biased and partisan, then wouldn't that absolve them from "firing the first shot"? I mean, they'd have just been doing what they always do, right?

They have never before en masse tried to expel a President from the day he took the chair.

IMO, it most certainly was the media.

It started within minutes of his announcing his intention to run for President, when the media butchered and lied about his words in order to claim President Trump thought immigrants were rapists, etc..

It continued on from there with some of the most egregious examples of yellow journalism since William Randolph Hearst set the standard.

Seriously...if you are an actual reporter...what difference does it make if "Trump started it!" But then...journalism is dead.

The difference is that the media is supposed to criticize President Trump, not the other way around. Did republicans think 100% of the media was 100% kind to President Obama 100% of the time? No, but he wasn't some entitled crybaby about it either.

The stupidity of your argument cannot be overstated.

You betray yourself by implicitly recognizing that President Trumps "they were very unfair to me" is an attack on journalism.

This is the likes of which we've never seen before. The revelation that The DNC was working with the MSM to sabotage the Bernie Sanders campaign was just them getting warmed up. The MSM trying to literally oust a sitting president with a never ending stream of lies and sabotage is proof positive that the MSM has abdicated their duty to inform. They now believe it is their duty to tell the American people what to think. They've been hiding behind their "4th estate" excuses for far too long. Now that it has been proven that they are not informing people like the Constitution dictates, then I'm fine with Trump doing whatever he can to break the back of the propaganda arm of the DNC.

Wrong! The media's job is to inform. The amount of spin, lies by omission, propaganda, and flat out fake news coming from the MSM is not their job. They have abdicated their duty to inform people of the facts.
