Koppel Tells Hannity He is Bad for America

And, you think that is a good thing?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It always concerns me that whenever I see a European leader speaking, they seek to connect with the smartest people in the crowd. Whereas, when an American politician speaks, they seek to connect with the dumbest people in it.

Obama and the Democrats have been doing that for the last 8 years

As for European leaders, they're as guilty as any other Politician when it comes to appealing to the lowest common denominator

bad for America? eh, maybe. mostly bad for those who are unfortunate enough to watch his lousy show or listen to his unlistenable radio program. when i was a right winger, his show was my least favorite, which sort of surprised me, because i remember him being at least a little interesting when he subbed for Limbaugh before that. eventually, i got tired of his reflexive hackery. then i got tired of confirmation bias in general. either way, on this issue, i have a ton more respect for Koppel, so count me in for team Ted.

There can be ni doubt that opiniin based reporting is bad for America.

Which is why everyone does it to one extent or the other, right? Fox News is only popular because there is no competition for those that want a conservative viewpoint.

Yes, in psychopathic liberal lala land, that's entirely true. IRL, not so much.

Considering you are to the right of Atilla the Hun your opinion on most matters is completely worthless. This situition is no exception.

How could Hannity be any different than sites like this? The only difference between him and a goodly number of online posters is that he gets paid for what he does.

Personally...I cant stand his voice and his verbal syntax and delivery. Everything sounds like a nasally incomplete thought. Cant listen to him.

It's really noticeable when he has a guest with some intelligence. Netanyahu, for example, when he was on the show, every time Hannity interjected with some inane remark, I kept thinking to myself, "STFU, Sean, let the man speak."

Actually the US was pretty good at separating opiniin and news till relatively recently. Sure, there were venues that specialized in opinionating. But no one serious would have used cnn or fox to form their opinion. Now you cannot even rely on the NYT or Washington Post trying to be unbiased. We have seen a rapid deterioration of our media and it is now mostly not much better than European media. The only advantage at this time that Anglo Saxons have is the wide range of midia of differing provenance.

Holy ****. I agree with Vance. It's a blue mon.

That would make Koppel an educated liberal elitist, with no common sense.
It's a really screwed-up day in America when individuals are negatively characterized and derided because they worked & succeeded in getting an education.

As if your Marxist views matter in America.

Wow. Koppel nails it. Hannity and the other ideological talking heads are bad for this country.

Yeah, he is an idiot magnet for sure. But he is only selling the brand of snake oil his minions want to buy. Until people wise up, (and I wouldn't hold my breath until they do,) we will always have Limbaugh's, Hannity's, O'Reilly's and Coulters and Trumptards. As long as there is a market for it, there will always be someone willing to sell it. That's America.

Hook, line and sinker.

Pretty ironic how Koppel's point is proved by Born Free's ideology over substance remark.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Hannity always interrupts when someone has a good point that is opposite of his viewpoint..hell, he tried to do it to Koppel, but Ted was ready. Hannity has no depth, just the usual talking points and interruptions and controlling the conversation so that only his stuff gets through. Its talk radio...get your listeners angry, tell them what to be angry about, feed the anger, make them hooked to anger. Its all emotion, very little knowledge.

He does that to others with supporting viewpoints too. Like he wants to show his own depth. I'm uncomfortable watching him.
Cavuto interrupts a lot but not for the same reason. It's like he already knows where the guest is going and he'd like to go somewhere else.
Scarborough just looks for opportunities to make a demagogic speech.

I can't think of anyone who does commendably impartial interviews.

Hannity is a huge supporter of the jews and Israel, and he's bad for America? Koppel is going to be as big a clown as Dan Rather, if he doesn't cool it.

Figures you would come runnng. How adorable.

This isn't about two partisan people. This is about how people at large (fans, viewers) have been duped (suckered, brainwashed, etc) by liberal and conservative lean pundits into subscribing more to the pundits ideologies and opinions over actual facts.

Yes, that is the underlying reason why these pundits claiming it's the other side's fault is bad for America.

Granted, this is nothing new, and if anything it was likely worse in the 1800s when there was little in the way of accountability for muckrakers. But then they also didn't have to deal with the added level of crap with partisan "fact checkers" spinning for one side or the other.
