There's a claim floating around American and British media about Trump allegedly kicking the British boy group One Direction from one of his hotels when the band refused to meet his daughter. The stories flow from an interview group member Liam Payne did with the British magazine Rollacoaster. These media outlets, including "mainstream" news organizations such as CBS News and USAToday, absolved themselves from any responsibility for vetting the story with their usual "so-and-so reported" or "so-and-so claimed." Whether the story is true or not never seems to enter their calculus. I have to admit I have my doubts. First of all, if this really happened, why wasn't it reported at the time? And so many details are lacking. Where and when did this occur? We don't even know which daughter Payne is referring to. Then there's the portion of the interview itself dealing with the alleged incident:

Shot by James White of Buzz White Studio, the 23 year-old spoke at length about love, his ex-band members, and the new US president. “Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once,” he explains, “You wouldn’t believe it. It was about (meeting) his daughter. He phoned up our manager and we were asleep. He said ‘well, wake them up’ and I was like ‘no’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage. Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless for us. So he was like, ‘OK, then I don’t want you in my hotel.’ So we had to leave.”

Basically, what I get is this:

1. Trump called our manager while we were sleeping because he wanted us to meet his daughter. I said no. (I managed to say this even though I was asleep.)

2. He wouldn't let us use the underground garage, so he kicked us out. :)shock:)

So which is it? Did he kick you out because you refused to meet his daughter, or did he kick you out because he didn't want to give you permission to use the underground garage? That doesn't even make any sense. What, frankly, does one even have to do with the other, and how does it follow that he would kick you out because HE refused to let you use the underground garage? Thus far, I haven't found where Payne has provided any additional insight into or comment concerning this alleged eviction, nor have I seen any attempt to get Trump's version of events. But that's not stopping the media from blasting the allegation all over the planet.

who knows if he did or didn't. this is just another distraction. the real issues are Trump's policy priorities and his temperament. plug Trump into a serious situation like the Cuban missile crisis, and see what that looks like. better yet, don't.

On the other hand, this would be a good reason to evict someone from a hotel:

He's expecting a baby in January but Louis Tomlinson is showing little sign of slowing down his partying.

The One Direction star reportedly enjoyed a wild night out in Newcastle on Monday, following One Direction's gig in the city.

According to The Sun*newspaper, the 23-year-old was 'kicked out' of a plush hotel at 4am for trashing his room, after partying all night with pals at a student nightclub in Newcastle.

The thing is this "distraction" is another example of the sort of low-grade guerrilla warfare being carried on against Trump by liberals in the media. They're not satisfied unless they're doing their part to bend public opinion in their efforts to destroy him.

he makes it easy enough for them that i'm thinking that it's part of a strategy. every real story is derailed by some outrageous tweet, comment, or leak. meanwhile, he can do whatever he wants in the background. for example, what anti-Trump leaker would choose to leak two pages of a tax return from twelve years ago which shows that he paid twenty five percent and not much else? does not compute.

Trump requires no help in that arena; he is doing a fine job all on his own :eek:uch:

Good.

Boy bands are terrible.

Trump is a buffoon.

But I have no problem with this - if it is true.

They are his hotels, if he does not want someone in them - out they go.

Don't like it - don't stay there.

If I recall, that sounds just like what was being said about Trump all though the campaign. I mean, before he was elected president.

If there's one thing I care about less than Donald Trump's daughter, it's One Direction.
