Distractions do work

And the media willingly takes part.

Trump's accusations that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower is a distraction to take the heat away from the bigger issue of the Putin-Russian controversy. And predictably it worked! the media has made no mention of the Russian problem for days!

Do you mean to say that the media and public at large are easily distracted? Easily misled?

If so, you are quite right.

That those in power take advantage of that is old news indeed. We are all thoroughly brainwashed, and have been for years. As Casey said, when everything the American people believe is false, they will know how well their misinformation efforts have succeeded.

It is when you're downsizing departments that disagree with you and your corporate buddies.

Trump borrows money left and right, even in his own personal life.

Removing government power over something is not a power grab. It is a power release.

While people are busy arguing about this crap, bills have been passed to scrap the Department of Education and the EPA, among other draconian measures.

The media has been bought. It works hand in hand with the government to distract the Republic while the ruling party makes a grab for power.

We are totally screwed.

Hmm... you now object to the ruling party (those elected and holding a majority) from making use of their power to govern? As Obama has noted - elections have consequences. When the non-ruling party thinks that they should still rule is when we have real problems.
