The numbers may be correct but they compare to last month, not a year ago this month so it could be anything.

No, it is not a good thing, the American economy needs cheap labor

That is so wrong. A talking point of the left and those who sold their soul on the right to those who fill their coffers in the Chamber of Commerce that amounts to a lobbying group that turns Republicans into Corporatists.

When you do something or nothing and the results are the same it is only the semantics that allow you to create a scenario of substance and only in your mind.

I'm just suggesting at least making the effort allows you leeway in accepting full blame for what happens next.

In my mind I was wholly unsupportive of the previous administration before and after due to the lack of qualifications and then borne out with the endless list of screw ups that ensued. Many of which personally impacted me economically. And some things that have landed us all squarely on a dangerous crossroads in the country.

I have a pretty good story that revealed much to me about this during the exchange enrollment period.
Perhaps one day I will go into it.

If there's anything Trumpanzees haven't figured out yet, it's statistics. Give them time. Or don't. I would advise "don't."

I'm sure that Trump's policies have something (be it minuscule or massive, nobody knows yet) to do with the decrease in border crossings (as if those numbers can be realistically quantified when nobody seems to agree on how many "illegals" there are here), but 40% seems abrupt without taking into account things like weather, crossing conditions, post-holiday doldrums or just plain the lack of availability of work.

Since applications for residency is Canada from the US have skyrocketed since the election, I have no doubt that Trump simply being Trump has had a huge effect...but 40%?

That's how they do themselves in. It always has to be "the greatest", "the most", he didn't just win the election they have to lie and say it was the greatest victory etc., always things that can be checked.

It suggests a collective insecurity, a mild form of paranoia.

Hey bubba - I don't recall ever seeing polling data that breaks down where polling was done. Usually, what is claimed follows the following statement taken from this poll.

"Dual frame landline and cell phone samples are generated using Random Digit Dialing procedures by Survey Sampling International (SSI). Both the landline and cellular phone samples are stratified by Census division according to area code."

"This survey uses statistical weighting procedures to account for deviations in the survey sample from known population characteristics, which helps correct for differential survey participation and random variation in samples. The overall adult sample is weighted to recent Census data using a sample balancing procedure to match the demographic makeup of the population by region, gender, age, education and race. Margins of sampling error for this survey are not adjusted for design effect."​

The University itself claims the following:

"The Quinnipiac University Poll is a public opinion polling center based at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. It surveys public opinion in Connecticut, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and nationally."[2]​

Now that's irrational. Not voting isn't supporting EITHER candidate... how absurd and a tad bit desperate... :roll:

The things is is doing are mostly things the luke warm Trump supporters had hoped were empty campaign promises. The things many wanted him to do are now being soft pedaled and watered down. his 'promise' to not allow Americans to lose their insurance- that's now all will have 'access' to insurance but affording it is another thing.

Yeah he is doing the worst of his promises and turning his back on the best... :peace

Yeah ... I saw that last line you quoted. It was the closest it came to what I was wondering. But it doesn't quite get there. I can't tell if Q focuses on those states it listed or how "national" "nationally" really is.
Demographic breakdowns like whatever they use could be a significant factor given that NY and NJ Republicans, as examples, could be loaded with never-Trumpers.

Regardless, those procedures they use that you quoted can be as reliable as CBO numbers and AGW models ... and they've never been right.

Polling is interesting, but sadly, so easily manipulated. I suppose that is one of the reasons it is such big business.
