This study looked at all the stories that aired about President Trump on the nightly news programs from CBS, NBC and Fox during his first 4 weeks in office. They evaluated each story and determined whether it was positive toward Trump, negative toward him, or the story was neutral.

News coverage of Trump is really, really negative. Even on Fox News.
By Stephen J. Farnsworth, S. Robert Lichter and Roland Schatz
The Washington Post

Excerpt

This is based on a new analysis by Media Tenor, an international, independent media research firm. Trained analysts examined 370 news stories about Donald Trump on the “NBC Nightly News,” “CBS Evening News” and Fox News “Special Report” between Jan. 20 and Feb. 17.

....

Here is what this analysis found. Only 3 percent of the reports about Trump that aired on NBC and CBS were positive, while 43 percent were negative and 54 percent were neutral.

On “Special Report,” the Fox News program that most closely resembles the evening network news, 25 percent of the reports about Trump were negative, compared with 12 percent positive and the remainder neutral. In other words, even the conservative-leaning Fox News featured twice as much bad press as good press.

I knew the big 3 networks had it in for Trump, but 3% positive... Are you ****ing kidding me?

This study not only confirms what I've known for years about the liberal bias on NBC and CBS, but backs up everything I've said about Special Report being more centrist (aka fair and balanced) than any of the other networks nightly news broadcast. It also shows that the accusations made by the far left Fox News bashers, that Fox is in the tank for Donald Trump, to be a load of crap.

What we have here, is yet another study that the left will have to pretend doesn't exist in order to maintain their false claim that there is no liberal bias in the mainstream news media.

Umm, I think what we have here is yet another example of Grim selectively choosing information to try and make a point:

If even Fox News can't find stories which are positive about President Trump more than 12% of the time, then perhaps the 3% is more reflective of Trump's first month than anything else. Unless you're trying to claim Fox News is also against President Trump?

Yep it's a big left wing conspiracy because news stations aren't **** stroking Trump like some on the right want them to. Face facts, all the bad press that Trump has been getting is due to Trump and his administrations actions.

Is it that? Or is it that Trump has been really horrible in his first month? Not even Fox can spin it to all happy happy.

Or you could just accept the truth according to Occam's Razor and acknowledge that your Dear Leader sucks.

Fox news is 60% liberals... This doesn't take away from the fact it overall certainly has a conservative lean with largely conservative host's... most people in the building are liberal... It's pretty difficult to have any media corporation without a vast amount of leftist because 90% of journalists are left.

I am fairly certain it is that. The media is full of people still having tantrums over the fact that he won.... and finding everything single thing that could be shown in a negative light.

And fox news is largely reporting everyone tantrums as well...

The left is not taking this loss gracefully, there is a constant bitterness

oh for crap's sake!!!

What percentage of any televised news is friggin positive?

Happy, positive, and uplifting doesn't fit anywhere in any televised news program.

Is murder, rape, assault, flooding, tornadoes, mass lay-offs, war, disease, terrorism, and famine "positive"?

Happy news doesn't sell.

I mean, the partisans want to see it their way and no matter what, it's always going to be it.

So we have conspiracies regarding the press, conspiracies regarding Obama and "shadow governments", conspiracies on leaks. Every time there's something unscrupulous or suspect, there's another conspiracy to explain it away.

At some point, people may have to consider that it's not everyone else's fault, but it's actually Trump's.

I think it's a feature of how divided the country is at the moment. Sure, Trump has a role in that... but it's something bigger than him. Hell, the guy is probably one of the most liberal presidents we've had.

I'm actually surprised to see that even Fox is going "WTF?" over the actions of this buffoon.

Who has the most to gain from political instability?

I guess the GOP-led Congress, as they continue to enable the Trump administration with their refusals to present any serious challenges to its rabid incompetence.

I'm assuming that they consider Trump and co. an effective distraction from their own lack of service to the American people. They are probably trying to reverse engineer a higher approval rating than the executive branch. In order to meet that benchmark, they certainly have a lot of enabling left to do... so buckle up!

Or, maybe the "rabid incompetence" is just the fabrication of left's MSM partners the irredeemably gullible gleefully lap up?

Well, so far the signs aren't looking too favorable for your interpretation. It just seems to get worse for you guys every week.

Cynical take, but basically correct.

Basically, If I go to work, come home, cook dinner, and go to bed, that's a pretty good day but it's not news. If I plow into a busload of nuns on my way to work, that's news.

Speaking of rabid... sounds like Trump is renting space in your head.

Umm, I think what we have here is yet another example of Grim selectively choosing information to try and make a point:

That must be it... Why else would I paste that information right there in plain sight?

Fox News - 2 to 1 negative to positive stories
NBC/CBS - 14 to 1 negative to positive stories

Fox News - 1 in 8 stories were positive
NBC/CBS - 1 in 33 stories were positive

Fox News - 63% of stories were neutral
NBC/CBS - 54% of stories were neutral

Is that being to "selective" for you?

Perhaps you have some kind of "special" math that I'm unaware, that shines things in a different light?

If even Fox News can't find stories which are positive about President Trump more than 12% of the time, then perhaps the 3% is more reflective of Trump's first month than anything else. Unless you're trying to claim Fox News is also against President Trump?

It's obvious that Trump's first month in office was filled with things worthy of criticism, but that's not the issue here.

The point of my post was rather obvious, as was yours... I was pointing out the blatant liberal/anti-Trump bias in the news coverage by NBC and CBS, while you were trying to dismiss that bias and instead make it about Trump just as others have done.

You have trouble with numbers don't you?

The majority of their stories were neutral. MAJORITY.
Same with Foxnews. Majority neutral. Minority were positive.

I'm actually surprised to see that even Fox is going "WTF?" over the actions of this buffoon.

It's called honest coverage... If you actually took the time to watch Special Report, you wouldn't be surprised at all.

I don't watch TV News.

So negative stories outnumbering the positive ones by a 14 to 1 ratio, is what you deduced as me having trouble with numbers?

It seems that it's YOU who has the issue with the numbers, considering you generalised instead of posting any.
