Trump Calls The Media ‘The Enemy Of The American People’

I'm scared for my country. Our president points to chaos and calls it order. He points to an empty field and calls it a joyous crowd. And he points to peaceful journalists and calls them enemies of my country.

Either your on the side of truth and reason or you're not. Come join the good guys.

I gave you a thumbs-up for this comment. Terrific perception.

Actually, to be honest and all that, the war was declared long ago by the main media.

Actually, to be honest and all that, the war was declared by tRump against the media long ago during the presidential campaign

If telling the truth, relaying vital leaks and correcting Trumps lies is declaring war we have a problem. The Flynn fiasco proves Trump will ignore warnings about national security if allowed by the media. They are our main lifeline now. Without a free press we have Russia and it seems that is what Trump wants. If journalists start turning up dead we will know for sure that Putin is running Trumps show.

tRump says the free press is MY enemy? No mr tRump, the free press is NOT my enemy; They may be your enemy.

The free press in America is currently under attack by tRump, and also by many here in this forum that have voiced support for tRump & his opinions concerning the free press.

I have no doubt that tRump & members here would welcome dead journalist.

America is at war & the war is not in some foreign land; the war is in our own back yard.

WE are at war, a war of ideas & a war of ideals.

Will America stand up to defend the free press, or will America stand up to fight a tyrannical egomaniac?

I for one will not be fighting the free press mr tRump ........

I am on the side of a free press

If the media hates Trump, it's the same hate Dr. Frankenstein felt for his creation.

"The media" I knew loves Trump. ****! He's a guaranteed headline. CBC has carried more on Trump so far than all of their coverage of Bush in eight years. he's gold.

What the alt-right doesn't understand is that not everyone is as insanely biased as they are. Any veteran reporter has learned long ago that it's all bull **** with a capital "S".

It's big **** for small people, but the fact is very few people can recall what was the headline a month ago, let alone yesterday. I covered the BC legislature for TV for seven years. No one I ever met could remember details of what I reported...they did remember my tie was crooked.

Oh no, just as I made my rep with Bill Vander Zalm, the pups on the way up will make theirs by doing no more than quoting the most quotable individual on the planet.

Quotable and believable however, are not even in the same super market aisle.

Say, did you know a BCTV reporter named Mike Winlaw? My 15 minutes, as promised by Andy Warhol, came when he and his crew did a segment on Ironworkers. They came to a job I was connecting on, at Woodfibre, and I was on camera taking him for a ride on the headache ball.

A name from the past.

Mike was no longer at BC-TV when I arrived. He was at CKVU on the Vancouver Show with Pia Schandell, the last I heard of him was in the late 90's where he was running some kind of one man consulting gig.

One of MY 15 minutes of shame was when I met Pia, I was still drinking and hit on her. We worked together later, she was totally pro

C'mon. I thought we were fighting Isis and Communism. Not the New York Times. This is some serious whack-a-doodle horse-hockey! Quit obsessing over the news and govern, dude!

The media is more far reaching than most uninformed liberals want to admit because 90% of the media is LIBERAL ! When a so-called news source deals in rumors and attempts to ruin lives we ALL should be very concerned ! When CNN handed Hillary questions to the debate a day before that debate , WE ALL SHOULD BE CONCERNED !!!

Nope. We are in no way agreed on this. But I doubt discussing the issue with you makes much sense. If you want to hang your self up in the meaning of this or that word it's fine by me.

What I'm asking you is simple - back up your assertion with links and quotes. You can't do it, so it's probably right that discussing it with me makes much sense because I'm not going to buy baseless assertions as fact. If you want to allege fake news, quote the fake news.

I look at the vid of Trump's on the Swedish incident. I read a couple of ten pages and understand the wider problem. I see a half sentence of the President's vid was sloppy and shrug, understand his general view was right and Getön with it.

I don't know what this has to do with anything. I guess you're suggesting that Trump, and Spicer, and Conway can spout ACTUALLY fake news about non-existent terror attacks and you're OK with it. The POTUS speaking on behalf of our country just has to get the general idea right! But headlines you don't like are "fake news." Seems like a funny double standard to me.

Others with their own fish to cook will go in and on, because their is no real fuel for their cause in the facts. Personally I find words important in contracts but less so off the cuff, where about agitation only shows a lack of substance.

You made as assertion, I asked you to back it up with facts, and you can't. So instead you dissemble and move the goal posts, then whine about others not having fuel for their cause in facts.

Then you have not looked at the video of the Sweden statement and watched the reporting on CNN? If you do not believe, what I report to have seen there, that is your problem. It is then you that are distancing himself from the reality of what occurred. That is fine by me. But I am not going to waste time to find the vids for someone that could have watched them himself and would have had to to have serious opinion.

Your original baseless statement was about the NYT calling Trump mentally ill, and now you've moved the goal post to Sweden, I think. And you haven't "reported" anything at least in response to me about Sweden. All you've done is provide some general support that Trump was right or something....

Only because I was discussing the other piece of slander parallel to our little exchange.

But you haven't supported your original "slander" claim, instead moving the goal posts to a topic that we weren't discussing at all.

Well, it is slander to call to insinuate mental illness. This is true even if you put in the small print that it was only an opinion of someone else. Orvwere you the fella that hadn't looked up the word "slander".

I wonder if asked what Vegas would say the odds are of Trump lasting four years. There re already murmurs in both parties.

Quote the article or the headline if you want and point out the actual slander. The "small print" as you call it was from what I saw the main premise of the article, but again, if you think the article was unfair, link to it and quote the part you had a problem with. Pretty simple. Baseless assertions of "fake news" don't cut it.

I guess that you heard something different than I did. I thought that Trump accused 5 outlets, out of thousands in the US, of bias. 4 of those are based in NYC and 1 in Atlanta. I suspect most of us get our news elsewhere. Those 5 are not the media. And Trump did not attack "The MEDIA" or threaten the freedom of the press. 5 outlets seem a little full of themselves.

the liberal mainstrem media is not the enemy of liberals because they all share the same agenda

but the liberal media - which is free to be as bias and partsan as they want - are my enemies and the enemy of half of America
