Although that isn't really a political cartoon, and I rather like Madonna's music, I think I have to agree with that.

I'm not seeing where this has any resemblance to reality.

You must be in denial.

As the political cartoon thread is for cartoons, memes and limited responses, and I'm wanting to further explore this topic, and have taken it to bias in the media forum to do so, as I see this as related to media coverage and the perception of such.

Perceptions differ between people and their locations. What might be the perceived reality in one place wouldn't be one somewhere else.

So Celebrity, where exactly do you see the cartoon reflecting reality? I'm curious.

I am by no means an expert on cartoon, but I have been reading cartoons for some time. Historically, cartoons have been meant to have an element of realism. That realism makes them relatable and comical. So, the Pope's general distaste for Trump's policies are reflected in this cartoon. We can also see the huddled masses prostrating themselves before an icon of Trump, like the picture of a woman with a Trump cape bowing, in a way which is unbecoming of the Catholic faith (worship of false idols).

That's odd..that looks like a portrayal of Henry Kissinger carrying the Pope's bags. I wondered where he has been since leaving politics.

Understood and agreed, cartoons need to have some founding in reality to be humorous and relevant. Agreed that the pope doesn't agree with some of Trump's positions and policies.

What I don't see is the electorate prostrating themselves before Trump. Cheering, supporting, yes. Prostrating no.

I think support for Trump lies in the reptilian brain of people and its associated instinctual behaviors of aggression, dominance, territoriality, and ritual displays. You could translate "Make America Great Again" into "Enforce an American Hegemony".

Meanwhile, in reality....

I just joined this cite, thinking I would hear from people who were a little more insightful with opinions supported by facts, instead of inane rhetoric and name calling that those with no justifiable position or intelligent comments typically have to resort to. Why don't you go back to watching CNN.

Get used to it. This happens more often than not. Do yourself a favor and read the rules before you get trolled. We have a lot of trolls that will try to suck you into committing an infraction. Welcome to the forum. I need ice cream. Gonna go get ice cream.
