Press encouraged to turn up heat on Trump

This is not the CT forum.

Then you tell why the CIA has infiltrated the Mainstream Media. Documented by the Church Committee Senate hearings.

What part of 'this not the CT forum' did you not understand?

I suspect he is not easily fooled. Like any of us, he might briefly tap into the latest 'rumor' about this or that, but in the end he seems to get it right. So I haven't decided how much of that kind of thing is real or he is just teasing and provoking the press to attack him. I am pretty sure he knows THEY aren't his friend, are in no way trustworthy, and no amount of fawning or kissing up is likely to change that. So he turns their hatred for him into an advantage. Trying to watch all this as objectively as I possibly can, I am more and more convinced we have not elected any kind of gullible simpleton even if he sometimes plays that role to manipulate his 'enemy' :)

Trump is the first occupant of the White House who does not need the old school liberal media to communicate with the people

If it was CT, I would post in the CT forum. Keep reading those Dr.Seuss books, it's helping.

Ho hum - and yes, it perfectly falls within CT garbage constraints.

Off you go.

Cronkite would have **** brix at the thought of Trump as President and probably would have been pretty disturbed that so many voters just did not care that Trump didn't just lie, but flat out made up stuff all the time that his supporters never question.

I have no idea what Cronkite would have thought. But I am pretty darn sure that during the days of honorable journalism, he might have thought it, but you would never know it in his news reports. He would report matter of factly what Trump said, and, if it was incorrect, report matter of factly what the accurate information was. Ditto for Hillary. And you wouldn't have a clue which candidate he favored or what his personal opinion about either candidate was.

THAT is the difference between objective journalism and the blatant propaganda and manipulation that passes for journalism these days.

There is only one person on TV that I trust and totally respect

That is Brian Lamb of C-SPAN

But he appears to have been pushed aside by the typical liberal zealots who run the other liberal networks

That is true, though Facebook and especially Twitter are pretty limited as a communication tool. What he posts sure gets him a lot of face time in the media though. :) That's why I am becoming more convinced that his more outrageous tweets are deliberately intended to be outrageous just for that purpose.

He's playing them and they're too hate filled and obsessed with destroying him to know it.

I haven't watched Brian for awhile after Cspan started losing the strict objectivity and non bias that it once magnificently demonstrated and thus became less useful as a reliable news source.

But back in those days, I would have defied ANYBODY to tell me what Brian Lamb's political affiliation was or his personal opinion about anything. He was terrific.

I still prefer to watch speeches and debates etc. on Cspan who don't manipulate the cameras to favor or discredit people during the event.

You don't see lamb because he is no longer run in C-SPAN

Now we have much younger liberal hacks running the Washington Journal and they are not objective or unbiased

I didn't know Lamb had left Cspan. But I definitely agree about the leftwing hacks. So, I don't visit there regularly as I once did.

He is still there with a big title but little influence

The video at the link is instructive if very limited in all the illustrations that could have been used.

In an election in which the coverage was so shamefully biased and relentlessly negative and questioned every word and nuance of Trump while giving Hillary much more gentle treatment, they are now encouraging the media to double down on that and get tough with Trump?

I am ashamed of the Fourth Estate that I once admired and wanted to be part of. With very few exceptions, there is no longer any attempt to be fair, balanced, or objective.

As a result, we can no longer look to the media for much in the way of the whole truth or sometimes any truth.

I am discouraged that this will be corrected in what's left of my lifetime.

Shamefully biased, maybe.... But, for the first time in history, the Republican candidate failed to get the endorsement of ANY major American newspapers.

As a group, the press, including its most conservative members, saw Trump as bad news. Its understandable, as the press, as a community is an educated / informed lot; which is not the community that thought of Trump as a credible candidate.

Well, at least the Russians have endorsed Trump. They think he can do the job.

Who are "they" you keep referring too? Who tells the media what to do?

Trump-isms come from his ignorant, egotistical, childish outbursts and attacks he so loves on Twitter. President-elect isn't wise or savvy enough to understand that there is behavior that is unbecoming of a President and that as the representative of the entire Republic, he must behave in a proper, civil, couth, and Presidential manner.

Oh so Trumps behaviour is not becoming to you. How about his policies are they becoming to you? Obama's policies have been strongly repudiated so much so that he lost the House and then the senate and now the presidency that Hillary was going to follow. That means Obama has turned over to the republicans all three branches of government to the republican on just 8 yrs.

And what does that tell you, that maybe the main stream media and the likes of the NYT is bias to the liberals. Sure they are and in spite of all the negative press from the networks and the news papers Trump still won.

More accurately, 'a Russian' has endorsed Trump, mostly because he sees Trump as somebody who won't declare war on Russia.

If this was say 1985 id want the media to turn up the heat on ALL politiciiatns BUT since its 2016 it really doesnt matter. Many have biased in one way or another and then millions of views dont really care. More PEOPLE have to care first otherwise its meaningless.

The first time in history you say?

Well imagine that

Since trump got elected anyway that means liberal journalists on the major newspapers have ZERO influence with the voters

Which is how it should be
