The best jab at CTs in totality that I've seen in a long time:
FakeNews® is very upset about Fake News.
I think he used to be fake news, when he played a conservative pundit. He does not consider himself to be news now. Even though, a lot of people list him as their main source of news. He's telling them not to.
The best jab at CTs in totality that I've seen in a long time:
Eh. The "Oh I'm Just A Comedian" schtick was always a cop out, for Colbert and Jon Stewart. Colbert came close to almost realizing this with the "maybe we drank too much of the poison" bit after the election was called.
But, of course, it's not just him
It takes a special lack of self-awareness to repeat a baseless charge against a public figure, while also warning that fake news can have dangerous and potentially deadly consequences. But that's exactly what Washington Post columnist Petula Dvorak did this week when she dredged up the false charge that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin inspired a mass shooting in 2011 in Tucson, Ariz. Dvorak's recitation of the unfounded claim came in an article titled "At a D.C. pizzeria, the dangers of fake news just got all too real."...
Whether it's drek about Sessions secretly being a racist, George W deserting his unit, deliberately misquoting Paul Ryan, or trying to throw a Presidential debate with misinformation FakeNews® has been part of the media business for a long time. Now it's facing competition from Fake News, and it's very upset about that.

I haven't watched the video yet, and I'm sure when I do Colbert will crack it apart in a succinct and humorous way. However, I can't help but feel a certain existential crisis in the knowledge that the architects of Pizzagate forgot about it a week ago and have already churned out the next fifteen fake news stories shortly to dominate the national zeitgeist.

They are making a big mistake, or a devicive action..
Colbert like this is not doing the establishment a darn bit of good disproving or diminishing the popular effect of pizzagate...
Talk about exposure, lol.. EVERYONE will be looking into pizzagate..
No one believes a word colbert says anyway..
He tries to lump wikileaks in as fake news, lol..

No. It's wrong. It's lying. It's also not new, nor is it limited to internet blogs. If MSM wants to get upset about fake news, well, I will take their complaints seriously when they start cleaning their own house. So it is ok because a bunch of people do it? What about those of us who actually do like true facts(as opposed to your preferred type of facts)? Should we just shrug because, hey, everyone is doing it?

What a quaintl;y delusional assertion.
The only people who are going to 'look into' pizzagate after seeing this are the people who will want to see how right he is.
Those who give it creedence don't watch Colbert. He uses words that are too big for them.
And by your own assertion, 'no one believes a word he says' in any case, so why would they believe him enough to inquire further?
Your contradictions are delicious.
I think you confuse fake news with what you don't want to hear sometimes.

This is as crazy as CNN and the DNC rigging the nomination for Hillary and feeding her the debate questions against Trump
News you dislike isn't fake.

Who are the fake news sites everyone is suddenly concerned with other than semi paid bloggers who double as political hacks? What are they other than well paid comedians who double as political commentators for a third of their programing between skits on puppets and sing alongs?
That's crazy-talk. They value their objectivity, and would never sink so low. Next you're going to run around claiming that main stream journalists would join an invitation-only online forum designed to help them coordinate and act as an unofficial branch of their preferred presidential campaign.
Surely they wouldn't be that irresponsible, just to sell clicks, views... why, not even if it seemed to jive with their political inclinations would they do such a thing....Didn't they also create a fake "hands up" news story in Ferguson that led to dead cops all over America?
