“The media are in full panic mode because the American people rejected their leftist agenda -- and them. People didn’t believe the nonsense that the media were politically neutral. Even a third of Hillary's supporters believe they were pro-Hillary!

“When you have a strong majority of actual voters saying the national ‘news’ media were biased in favor of Hillary Clinton and tried to influence the public to vote for her; and believing they are fundamentally dishonest, you have a major problem that can’t be fixed with an apology. The public has rejected this institution as being either objective or truthful. There is an institutional bias at major media networks that must be repaired and I am highly skeptical that news executives are interested or capable of undertaking this responsibility.

“Despite the overwhelming and persistent bias of this cycle in particular, I am heartened by the fact that, according to our poll, the American people didn’t let it sway their vote. If this isn’t a wakeup call for the left-wing media to stay out of politics, I don’t know what is.”
MRC/YouGov Poll: Most Voters Saw, Rejected News Media Bias
I bet the media won't listen.

I don't have much of a complaint when it comes to cable news because the bias is there for the whole world to see be it left or right. My beef is with print journalists and newspapers passing incredibly slanted articles off as neutral. The Associated Press, which supplies most of our local papers' wire stories, was just horrendous at this. Every single day there were tons of anti-Trump stories. The paper itself endorsed Gary Johnson.

No they will not - they are doomed to make the same mistake over and over.

That will insure that Trump will be around for eight years.

IMO, the biased news media contributed to DTs victory.

While they were busy treating HC with kid gloves (which everyone noticed), they were throwing the kitchen sink at DT every single day. Voters were disgusted with them, grew desensitized and sent them, and both parties, a large **** you

Yay us!

I agree. I didn't like Clinton. The more I watched the press the more I became resolved in my dislike of the situation with Clinton. I wasn't going to vote for Trump until I started seeing some of the stuff being released by Wikileaks. I decided not to vote for Dale Earnhardt Jr. but to vote against the press and Hitlery.

Political right wing media thinks left wing media should stay out of politics. Right wingers fail to notice the hypocrisy.

I'm shocked.

I concur whole heartedly with this article. I have been an informed and avid media watcher for decades now and have watched in dismay as the Fourth Estate first became biased and then wholly in bed with the leftist agenda, leftist candidates, leftist policy and lost all capacity of objectivity in the process.

Even the gray lady herself, the New York Times, admitted it finally in the wake of the Presidential election. They acknowledged they made no effort to be objective or fair in any regard and were mending their ways. And then in the same week they went right back to the old ways.

I should no longer be surprised at the coverage I have been reading this past week and see yet this morning, but it is still amazing. And galling. It would be frightening except for e-mail, social media, and the internet that cannot effectively block out our ability to get the truth. There was once a time that we who are merely the people of the land depended on the mainstream media to accurately inform us. Now that it no longer does, we are blessed with the 'underground press' that gives us an opportunity to see past the propaganda that the MSM almost exclusively feeds us these days.

I hope they continue to keep their head in the sand. That is a good thing for us.

I don't know. I was part of them long ago in the days when journalistic ethics were considered sacred and were rigorously enforced by all but the tabloids. In those days, the least hint of bias would be noted by the editors and would result in a reprimand to us reporters. If egregious enough it could result in a sacking. Now it takes the most blatant forms of pure slander, something that the public is sufficiently outraged about, to get a reporter or news commentator sacked. That is for those who are biased on the left. A conservative person can be fired or driven out by angry mobs for the slightest violation of political correctness.

That is why we call them "the good ole days". I had a mentor when I was the VP of a local. He always told me, "Quit band aiding the system. Let it go full FUBAR so that someone will be forced to do their job." He was right. It might take them awhile tho.

I always hope that the worm will turn and responsible people with a strong ethical center will regain control of the mainstream media. We lost it when the drugged out, zoned out, tuned out flower children of the 60's came of age and mostly infiltrated higher education, certain scientific fields, and yes the media where they thought they could make a difference. They started the trend toward a less honest and more ideologically focused media but the situation didn't spiral completely out of control until they turned over the reins to those they mentored and raised up and who were even more radical in their views. And in the next generation, those coming into power have no memory of journalistic ethics and now use the media strictly to influence and there is no pretense of honesty or objectivity.

And because there are so few in the media who understand what objectivity actually is or who are willing to exercise it, I fear we can't go back to a more responsible press. But there are a few old timers around, and I am seeing some hope in the younger generation who really are beginning to think on their own and see things more clearly. So I never give up hope.

You couldn't have been farther off the mark if you tried.

This is all about the level of bias that voters from both sides of the isle saw from the mainstream news media's coverage of the election campaign. Your statement about "right wing" media was not only irrelevant, but a complete fabrication on your part.

wow fox news vs ABC, CBS, NBC news, ABC CBS NBC late night television and ABC, CBS, and NBC programming

.
Yeah, I noticed that too. The NYT is so habitually biased that they literally can't control it.

And you would win that bet. Just look at the biased and stupid reporting on the Trump transition team!!
The partisan/biased media is right back where they were at the end of the election. They hate Trump and anyone
one who dared voted for him. They tried as hard as they could to to demonize anyone who would dare vote for a guy
who was labeled as a: Nazi, Fascists, Homophobia, Hitler, Hates women, Hates Blacks, Is unhinged, Is dangerous,
Is insane, Is Scary..................... The media is in full melt down mode now. They tried to do anything to throw the
election to Hillary and failed big. Now they are Media 2.0 and will spare nothing to try a and damage President elect Trump anyway they can.
Condition normal

I would not count on that based on the stupid left leaning media, performance will be the factor that determines how long he stays there. Oh, and it is "ensure", sorry just had to.............

I remember when the press went into seizures when they said Limbaugh wanted Obama to fail. I read some of the NYT this morning and they are making stuff up on the fly. CNN is just a little better. WaPo is still justifying their fictional form of news. I think they are just screwing themselves. Not my problem.

The old timers are moving on and the young that see clearly are becoming more and more rare. So, I do not see your hope, but I hope you are right.

Rural citizens are pissed off. Left leaning news is just keeping the middle class farmer, rancher, trade craftsman and manufacturing employees energized. A lot of them are Democrats that voted for Trump. The name calling and labeling is backfiring and deepening their resolve.

Grammar nazi.

I screw up on purpose, just so the wife won't get her expectations built up.

I don't think that's the case. I checked the numbers, and Trump pretty much got the same number of votes that Romney received. It was Hillary that was lacking, and maybe that was because of the "inevitable" victory that Hillary Clinton was expected to get. And I will say the media did play a part in that narrative.
