President Elect sticks it to the press.

They write more fiction than they do truth. They aren't journalists. They are magpies making noise to impress each other.

People think lawyers are arrogant (many are) and doctors are worse (yes) but no group is more arrogant than the press. Lawyers figure they control others wealth, doctors-their health-but the press figures it can control how people think.

That's a very interesting take on... nothing related to the thread topic. Just more partisan nonsense and deflection.

How do you feel about Trump's War on the Press?
Do you want to know how he's preparing to lead you, or would you rather not think about it?

(Hint: If I need to explain my question in simpler words for you, I am happy to do so! We'll just get that out the way without having to exchange multiple posts.)

Like 10's of millions of others, I wouldn't trust the media to tell the correct time if they did so in front of an atomic clock.

I'll listen, watch, and check the record.

You're welcome to be as manipulated and lied to by the corrupt MSM as you wish.

Hint: If you think I will be impressed with your pseudo intellectual pabulum, don't waste your time. I can't get down to that level.

The media is not monolithic. Quit perpetuating reductionist myths.
Anyone who trusts or distrusts the "MSM" is a simpleton. The quality of various media outlets runs the gamut.

Trump feeds the media and he Loves them, it works with his shtick, then again if you point out the truth of his foolishness too much he gets his panties in a wade, so Presidential.

Every time he opens his mouth is going to be golden, for Comedy Central, until they piss him off.

This is my favorite part...

...these dirtbags are trying to pass themselves off as soke sort of necessary service to the people.

Yeah: the incompetent press don't need to know where Trump is. These are the same idiots that revealed the location of Prince HARRY during the war. To hell with those bird brained chuckle-heads.

Which is ironic because at least lawyers and doctors actually have to have certain professional credentials. You're rarely able to find "citizen lawyers" more competent than a trained professional. An you'll never find a "citizen doctors" being more competent at the profession than an actual doctor.

But the MSM do their jobs so poorly that people off the street constantly have to fix their mistakes and any random passerby can do the exact same job as a journalist and often in a more objective fashion since random citizens don't have an agenda. The narcissism of the MSM if completely unjustified.

Slippery slope first only the press who haven't offended him in some way get access, and so it goes.

So thanks for admitting there isn't a 1st amendment issue.

I have met a lot of attorneys. Some were great at their job and had ethics. Some sucked. The way I could tell the ones that sucked were the ones that would tell me that they knew everything about the situation before they knew the situation or they would try to be my best friend hoping to bend me over. I admired the good ones and made fools of the ones that automatically knew everything. That is where every occupation is similar. There are people that actually know stuff. A lot of times they are arrogant for good reason. They know that they know stuff. There are people that pretend like they know stuff and there are the ones that make stuff up. The press is usually a mixture of the latter two. Baffle and buffalo with BS.

most of the people you see on TV are news readers. They are not Journalists or "investigative reporters". that's what makes the arrogance so pathetic

I have done a lot of forest fires, flood rescues, medivac. Not once did any reporter ever get all of the facts right on any situation.

I often think its intentional. a few months ago, the local news station (one of four) showed up at a range I shoot at to ask questions about why anyone would own these "vicious assault weapons" Hillary wants to ban. So the manager comes up to me and said-will you talk to them. I did. it was about a 20 minute interview. The manager who was nearby said great as did the owner. On the way out of the range, the reporter who clearly wasn't say an NRA fan-ran into a guy with one of those stupid t-shirts-cannot remember if it was "kill em all, let god sort them out" or "happiness is a warm gun barrel.

The news story had some woman from the state gun ban organization whining about Newtown. Did they show me or the manager (whom they also interviewed)? Of course not. they put a sliver of the Gun shop commando who of course, wasn't what you'd call informed.

its typical-I have seen dozens of news shows where the channel gets some professional gun hater and "balance" that with some one who was picked at random and has no real experience in public speaking.

This is the first time I've seen a self-described "libertarian" arguing against the people's right to be informed about the actions of their leaders.
Are you going to be first in line to sew little crescent moons on all the Muslims?

He will be the leader in January. He is not right now.

Obama is still President until the inauguration.

Do you even know what you are talking about? The President does not have to allow unlimited access to, or provide transportation and accommodations for, any member of the Press. No more than any common citizen has to.

The Press remains free to report on any story they can gain access to, discover, or develop on their own.

Same applies to your partisan hackery.

A President, like any other citizen, can chose when and where to make himself available to the public.

I guess a precedent was set with Obama to not make decisions unless he gave a press conference first and judged the reactions of the press.

I hope Trump changes that.

From the article: "Trump's meeting with Obama in the Oval Office was recorded by the pool of White House reporters, photographers and TV journalists who cover the president."

Transparency is extremely important, especially with someone who plays as fast and as loose with the facts as Trump.

You just said Trump was covered while engaged in an official act.

I don't see what the problem is.

How much more can the press go at him? It didn't work for the election. It will only validate what people already know about the press. Fox News will appreciate it.

The press hopes to follow him around and take something he says out of context to attack him.

It is smart to not have enemies traveling with you in your own plane.

The way the press handled this election was unacceptable. That said, I am concerned about loss of press access to the Presidency.

Trump isn't the President yet.

Thanks to the internet anybody can call themselves a journalist. No training needed.

Anybody that has been the victim of the yellow press knows not to trust them.

They slant the stories to manipulate people.

They are upset this time around that it didn't work and now they need anything, anything at all to cry about, like the OP in this thread.

No he's not, because I have a real leader:

You guys have a bigoted buffoon:

Okay

Now I can completely ignore your point of view since you aren't even a citizen of my country

I should have known before....

Appreciate the heads up....:2wave:

Say hi to bullwinkle

Trump isn't the President yet.

Nope. He is President-Elect. This is the time he works to put together his team that will be serving us. So I think current access is important as well.
