No, half of the American people did not just reveal themselves to be Nazis....

The truth is, most of Trump’s voters voted for him despite the fact that he said/believes awful things, not because of it. That in no way excuses it, but I have to admit I’ve spent eight years quietly tuning out news stories about drone strikes blowing up weddings in Afghanistan. I still couldn’t point to Yemen on a map. We form blind spots for our side, because there’s something larger at stake. In their case, it’s a belief that the system is fundamentally broken and that Hillary Clinton would have been more of the same. Trump rode a wave of support from people who’ve spent the last eight years watching terrifying nightly news reports about ISIS and mass shootings and riots. They look out their front door and see painkiller addicts and closed factories. They believe that nobody in Washington gives a **** about them, mainly because that’s 100-percent correct.

Ordinary people know that most of what Trump says is meaningless. It's almost never what he really believes. He comes from a different background than pundits and politicians. He uses language to get an effect, not to communicate ideas. People are familiar with the type. With them you look at what they do, not what they say.

So, what did Trump actually do? He signed on to a solid Republican conservative platform. He made a solid conservative pick for running mate. He produced a good solid conservative list for the Supreme Court. When he actually does something he seems to do it right.

Furthermore because of the style and method of how Trump won, he can just as easily say "I said x, the best people in the world say x, won't work: I listen to my advisors and I won't do x but I will do y and I swear y will be amazing".

Trump can literally do whatever the hell he wants and I will give 0 ****s if he breaks half of his promises. The only things I care about is...

1. Stop arming and training terrorists in the middle east: which is something the executive office can do without congressional support.

2. Reposition our alliance with NATO and the EU because those organization are useless: also something the executive office can do.

3. Renegotiate our trade deals: important note. Renegotiating the deals is absolutely something the executive office can do. He can't sign them, but that will be the legislature's failure.

So everything I actually really want to happen Trump's administration can do without any Congressional stonewalling. I have high hopes thanks to low expectations.

I bet you don't even realize how stupid your post is...

Well, you are no judge.

Just some advice for you that might help you out a whole lot: think about what you are posting before you post it. Then people like me won't be able to come along, have a good laugh while we point out the total failure in logic in your posts.

Not necessarily. Your "solid conservative" dream world may just turn into an nightmare. What you are forgetting, is that Trump is a representative of the market and the tricks that come with it. He really is the character embodiment that Ayan Rand wrote about in Atlas Shrugged, and he is all about himself.
